This is a newer store, but because it is so busy that they can't seem to keep it clean, the bathroom is dirty and the floor have tons of trash from people dropping food on the ground. I have been to multiple Poll's around Central Florida (probably too many). The menu is great, there are salad options, rice bowl, and of course, plenty of chicken fired up on the grill. My personal favorite and recommendation is the chipotle chicken sandwich. I usually get a side of rice and beans too (included in the price along with a drink). My gripe about this location however the service. Im not sure what the issue is here but if the employees go any slower they will be going backwards. This isn't a 1 time event. It happens every time. Went to the one in Daytona, first time. Girl on the speaker said cash only, ok. Then they were out of pork and she said that there is a 3 hour wait, like I would wait. I am on Keto so I ordered lettuce, grilled peppers and onions, steak, and avocado. Board said $10.49 and I was charged $15.22. I figured the extra charge was for the avocado. Well, it had no avocado so I went back around. Girl said just one minute. Then a kid came to the window and said it would be an extra $2.50. I explained to him that I already paid too much and he said " we changed our prices and management has not changed the board yet". Then when I showed him my meal and explained to him the with avocado this little bowl would be $18.00. He looked at me like a deer in headlights. Really frustrating. Waited in their drive thru at 9:00pm for 30 minutes, only to be told they ran out of chicken, no apologies were given just a simple, "we ran out." Did takeout here for a large group of 11 people. For this amount of people we got two Family meals and a few extra large size sides and it was plenty of food. The food itself was really good! The chicken has tons of flavor and the sides were all great (especially the black beans and rice). The Mac and cheese was blah, but other than all the food was great. The service at this location was the major disappointment. The staff got our order wrong and didn't include any utensils. As an example, we were missing two large sides, and it took them over 10 minutes to scoop out two sides and get Them to us. The staff was mostly unprofessional and was hard to work with. I have loved Pollo Tropical for over twenty five years since I used to pick up lunch from the location at Oakland Park Blvd and Federal Highway. I have tried other items in recent years, some good, some not so Good. My advice is "stick to the chicken." Last weekend I tried their latest sandwich, The Cuban." I didn't expect a great one, but this was just not good. Shredded pork is not even close to sliced roast pork which makes a Cuban. In addition, in their ads, they say don't forget the pickle....well they are right but my Cuban didn't have any pickle. I went to that place today, June 6, 2022. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. We went there about 5:00pm and they were out of everything. They only had chicken nothing else on the menu. We ordered yuca fries with out order and they were cold. The rice, beans and chicken were cold. 2nd visit during my trip here. 1st visit was lackluster as an experience overall, stopped in on Memorial Day about 9pm (closes@10p) and we were greeted with a long list of items they were out of. The gentleman was polite and seemed embarrassed tom have to read this list of. I just stated tell me what you do have and we can go from there. They had chicken, and the chicken was tasty but lacked that just cooked feel, served warm but had the been cooked and kept warm. The oddity of the whole visit and chicken with promise deserved another visit. My family stopped in again about 8 pm later that seem week. The restaurant itself has a more lively vibe upon arrival. Greeted politely by the cashier, I was able to order the Family meal chicken, pork platter and some plantains. Chicken is tasty, nostalgic for me to a place back in SF, just the way it is marinated, grilled with a moistness to the meat and a light char of the skin. Plantains fried up nicely in the same manner, sticky chewy ends and edges but the plantain middle is "meaty" good bite and sweetness. I'm from Georgia visiting Orlando. There used to be several PT locations spread about before they closed all of them down in the state, so to say I was eager to have one of my favorite chain restaurants in over a year was an understatement. I asked 2 staff members to clean one of the dirty tables so I can sit and eat, and after about a 7 minute wait, one did begrudgingly. I thanked her afterwards with no response. The floors were slippery and I had to be cautious walking around. The bathrooms were however the biggest issue. The stall was "Out Service" and the floors are completely slick and greasy. I had to be really cautious when walking out. The trash was overflowing and there was wet paper towel laying around. There was some leftover chicken in the sink too. The paper towel was also sitting above the dispenser, slightly wet. Yeah, this was a forgettable return to one of my favorites. read more

Not only in the restaurant but you call in for feedback and have to wait over 2 months for someone to call you back. I was visiting Orlando and decided to stop by here after a long day at the theme parks. It was almost 11pm and we're all tired and can't wait to get to the hotel. I ordered Whole chicken with plantains. Was told by cashier named Shirleiny it would take 10 minutes. I said okay. I waited 20 minutes which then I approached Shirleiny whom happens to be standing by the sauce station. I pointed out to her that the lady who came well after me also ordered chicken but had picked up her order and left. She responded with an attitude: "No, actually she came before you but she had to leave and came back". Yeah that doesn't make any sense. She did not even apologize for the delay, then walked behind the counter to the register. There was a hispanic lady which I didn't get the name, possibly in her 40's, who prepared the food and noticed what's going on so she was rushing try to get the order ready though unfortunately the chicken was not cooked properly. After another 10 minutes, she gave me the order and even apologized. I was still upset at the cashier and asked for a manager. Manager named Martha was so nice and apologetic to me. She wanted to make things right by giving me two sides to make it up. Note that I knew what to order, asked a simple question and I got her worse to a bad attitude. She then walks away and doesn't give me what I owed in change, another girl comes over and is surprisingly just as bad as her and I ask her to get their act together and tells me that she has no idea on what the other girls problems are and is not responsible for the attitude. I hope your so called manager, and I believe in leadership is accountable for actions and there is no management there, sees this post and realizes how poor and terrible everything is. Worst customer service I ever encountered in a fast food restaurant. The order was incomplete and when I bought it to the cashier attention, she started to argue that it was complete. I had to point out that not all that was rung up and paid for was not received. Then she told me that " I work here and I know what i am doing, you are just a customer." Laugh if you want but I LOVE Pollo Tropical and it is a must at least once a trip every time I come to FLA, anywhere in the state! Although it is an awful picture the food was great, succulent roast pork bowl, fried yuca, your choice of sauces, and tostones fried " just for you" according to the friendly gentleman who apologized for it taking long, but it only felt like a min so it wasn't long to me! Fast "tropical" food at a bargain basement price served by a beautiful woman who called me a baby doll and a gentleman who fried tostones just for me, lol and it always tastes fantastic! Got to say that I was pretty disappointed. Traveling in Fl this week with someone else and all week he was telling me we needed to stop at one of these places. Parted ways w him this morning and this evening I look across the street from my hotel and here it is so I had to give it a try. Maybe it is just this location but the chicken was dry, chewy and burned. The rice was burned to the point I could've broken a tooth. Also the plastic silverware was so wimpy. I could barely cut the chicken up. If you are going to burn the chicken you are going to have to get sturdier silverware!! I may give it another shot at some other location and maybe this just wasn't a representative night here. It was about 7:30 and the place was not busy at all. Ordered two chicken breasts w 2 sides. Yesterday I ordered a grilled chicken Tropichop which is bowl of grilled chicken, brown rice, black beans, corn, grilled onions and peppers and avocado. A good amount of food for under $10.
