Being from the West Coast, Cane's has been my go to chicken finger restaurant so I was excited to try Zaxby's. I've seen comparisons online and wanted to compare the two myself. However, it didn't live up to my expectations. I got the Big Zac Snak Meal - it comes with three chicken fingers, Texas toast, fries, and a drink. The chicken fingers were small and dry but tasted alright with the sauce. The toast was SO SALTY that I couldn't eat more than one bite. I got a cherry coke and it tasted kinda weird like Dr. Pepper?? The best (and probably the only good) part of the meal were the fries. Oh and it wasn't busy and I got my order really fast so that's a plus I suppose. On another note, they have a much more extensive menu than Cane's. This place has chicken tenders better than Publix and Zax sauce that rivals Chic Fila. Literally the best chicken tenders in the area. The place is clean, staff is friendly and accommodating. I took my girlfriend here for her first time and she loved it. In South Florida we don't have the, but people try to compare it to PDQ, however the Zaxbys chicken is far better. PDQ does have some great salad options that Zaxbys doesn't compete with, but overall, when it comes to chicken-Zaxbys will always win. read more

First time having zaxbys, they got pretty much every part of the order wrong: 1. Our chicken sandwich that was supposed to be no pickles, had pickles. Also the drink was wrong. 2. Our 6 piece fingers with sweet and spicy sauce and coleslaw came with the wrong sauce and the Cole slaw was fully missing. Oh, also it only came with 5 fingers. $46 for this order and they got 5 things wrong. I love their food, but am officially done with this store. The past few times I've been, the unsweetened tea has been really gross. It tastes like it has not been cleaned well and has residue. However, today was the breaking point for me. When I pulled up to the speaker to take my order, they had me wait 10 minutes before taking my order. From there, they took my money and gave me my drink right away at the window. But they had me pull up (off their sensor) to wait for the food. They did that with the other 2 cars behind me as well. All in all, it took 25 minutes from pulling up to where you take the order to getting my food. For context, there were only 2 cars ahead of me in the line. This was not a really busy time. Luckily, I had taken my infant home to be watched by their other parent before going to zaxbys. Today is hot enough that sitting in the car that long isn't acceptable. I'm a little disappointed with what Zaxby's has become. At one point, they were in the nebulous tier between fast food and casual dining. You could get a decent meal, with quality ingredients, at a reasonable price. Rather than build on that success, they've slid downward into the glorified fast food tier. The tenders are always fried well, the garlic toast doesn't ever have too much garlic, the fries are crinkle, and they have an "original" sauce that every tender joint has. They don't give you a lot of fries at this location. Their service takes a while but that's okay. I will note that the restaurant decor is fascinating. A lot of young teenagers get hired here and their all immature. It seems like there is never a manager present because they like to joke in the drive-thru and take their time. I have been going to Zaxbys for years even with the no ice situation as someone else mentioned. But after tonight I don't think I'll be going back until you can hire and better train the staff because the ones you have now are ruining your establishment. Aug 11, 22 at 9:22pm I placed a $50.66 order (chk #3206). There were 2 young men at the window but one was unprofessional and giggly from the beginning. I even asked what was so funny that I wanted to laugh too and he just said "oh it was the car before you" ok...he gave me my drinks and cookies then asked me to pull up to the white line and that he'll bring my order out. After I saw in my review mirror them hand a bag to a car and the car returned it I figured it was mine so I went inside at 9:35pm, 13 minutes after I placed my order. I approach the counter and explained how I've been waiting and I asked "did you just hand that car my food?" And the kid barely replied and looked confused and just handed me a bag. I asked where my other bag was and Roland the manager was just staring at him and said "it's that bag there that's been waiting"... I asked Roland "are you the manager? What's going on here? I've not only been waiting but he gave my food to someone else, there's no apology, this kid is rude and thinks everything is funny, send this kid home he clearly doesn't want to work and is a representation of you" the kid rudely tells me "you got your food just leave" and he refused to turn around as I tried talking to him: So I asked Roland what's up with that and he said there's nothing he can do, that he's not allowed to send employees home or reprimand them... What kind of manager is that and what kind of establishment allows this? Where these young ghetto kids don't do their jobs right and get to argue with customers and still gets to keep his job and stay on shift?? I understand times are hard and due to Covid and no one wanting to work that you're hiring just about anyone these days but making those sacrifices are going to hurt your establishment financially. No one is going to want to spend their hard earned money and deal with that ghetto unprofessional mess. People in the dining room waiting started videotaping us and I took my phone out to record too but it was too late as he walked to the window and out of my sight by then but poor Roland just stood there. I never received an apology let alone offer some sort of compensation or coupon to return. I cannot believe I was treated in such a way and I'm disgusted by your policies and your lack of care to do better for your staff and community. Now I see why chic fila is so popular and successful.
