This place is AWESOME! We got the meal for 10 to feed 8 people. I actually ordered and extra chicken dish thinking it wouldn't be enough. The meal for 10 was WAY MORE than enough for our group of 4 adults and 4 teens. We got the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese as sides with the chicken. Want to give this a 1/2 star- doesn't deserve a full star. This is by far the slowest pollo tropical I have ever dealt with. I waited in line for 20 minutes prior to ordering with a very long line wrapped around the building. Everyone was moving in slow motion with it seeming like one person is working the entire store you can tell the lack of urgency is not there when it comes to being quick and efficient. Let me start this review by saying Pollo Tropical is one of my absolute favorite quick service stops. That being said, I will never step foot in the Millenia location again. I entered the restaurant approximately 15 minutes after they opened and the floor resembled one of a crappy college bar after a long night. It was so sticky that my shoes were stuck to the floor, and there were gross black footprints all over. It was clear that it hasn't been cleaned in quite some time. Seeing as the front of house was so disgusting, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. It used to be our family's favorite restaurant with our children on week basis. We were disappointed with our dinning experience on Friday, the service wasn't the best, the soup was dry and no soup, not hot at all. The side dish corn has not taste, and we ordered family meal, the macaroni cheese were very small portion in small cup, it used to be come with big cup like the rice and black bean size. They did not deliver the food to our table and we need to go and pick up the food at the counter. Worst part is the cleanliness of the restaurant. No one clean the tables, we sat on the dirty table and need to clean ourselves. The restaurant floor is dirty and so is restrooms. I am not sure it is management issue or lack of help. It seems like no directions or pay attention to the restaurant operation. Recommend the manager of this location to take it look at its opportunity and address the cleanliness and food quality. We would like to come back and they must improve the issues we experience. read more

I'm THOROUGHLY convinced that ALL Pollo Tropical's don't have any type of training for customer service. This one was no different. The food itself gets three stars from me, but customer service wise, it gets negative 70. I went to the sauce bar for some cilantro garlic for my tropichop and ketchup for our fries. The ketchup was out and basically exploded all over my hand. When the food was run out, I asked the employee for some ketchup because it was out, and she all she did was walk towards the sauce bar and said "ketchup's out????" and went back to the counter and stood for a bit before going to do something else. Needless to say, it wasn't fixed. My fiancées tropichop did not come with gravy when asked for it. I walked up to the counter to ask for some gravy and some ketchup. I sh*t you not. I stood up there for about 5 minutes. While that same employee was walking around me the entire time. Not acknowledging my existence. That also includes every single other employee. Every. Single. One. I made direct contact with every single employee present. NOT ONE asked if I needed anything or was waiting on anything. One man in the kitchen was literally STARING at me and said NOTHING to anybody about a guest possibly needing something. Half of the staff was literally standing around and staring, basically waiting for something to happen. At that point I was choosing not to say "excuse me" to somebody just to see if anybody would ever acknowledge their guest. But they didn't, and I got impatient. That was beyond ridiculous. Wanted to check out this place. So went through the drive-thru around 1pm. Wasn't too busy at this time. Ordered 2 platters. One for me and one for my husband. Both 1/4 chicken. One was suppose to have a side of rice, and the other a side of fries. Both come with standard bun on the side. Anyways. Pay for food. Pick up our order, only to find out we got SOMEONE ELSE'S food. Drove up to get a basic quarter chicken meal for lunch around 1pm and was told by the girl on the drive through intercom that they would not have chicken for another 30 mins. Um.. 30 freakin' mins?? Just came in to pollo tropical on Millenia and the cashier Paul is shocking rude. He keeps raising his voice and talking down to several customers. I was ordering food and he blatantly disrespected my father. I would not recommend service here while he works. This is the worst employee I have ever encountered at any pollo tropical. There is a lady serving the food that noticed that I was upset and came over to remedy the situation she was the only pleasant experience here. She came over and apologized for him. Witch is nice but needed to come from him. Currently it is 9:45 pm. It looks like he may not be in the proper state of mind to be working. Ive used this app for YEARS but never had an experience bad enough to actually say something pubicly....heh publicly. PUN INTENDED I love pollo trop. I frequent it actually. Even horrible locations that seemingly always get my order wrong or insult me with tones of voice or dirty looks. This location is TERRIBLE!! The manager needs fired asap, and possibly some of the staff along with him. My order has been wrong 4 out of 5 of my last visits. But as i said, i love pollo and can deal with a mistake here and there. NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a chicken breast meal with white rice, black beans, mash potatoes with the meat well done. It usually comes with a roll and a small salad, but these two items are frequently forgotten at lots of locations so i usually remind them/ dont bother them if they are busy. I recieved 2 undercooked breasts with no salad, no roll, NO RICE, and corn(?) But heres the kick.... A HUGE FRICKING PUBIC STYLE HAIR SMEARED ACROSS THE TOP OF MY CHICKEN IN PLAIN SIGHT!! The horror and insult still stain my eyes. They will know who i am, they will know why i will never eat at this location ever again, and i will be as nice as i can when i tell them how bad they are at their JOB. If I could give a zero star I would. Let me start by saying that this review is for this particular location. I ate at a different location and it was wonderful. We waited over 45 minutes to order and get our food. The food here was not flavored well. Half of our order was missing and we had to remind them. They gave us our plaintans charred black burnt. I had been to other grilled chicken places similar California, Miami and Peru and it's gotta be up there with the best. The ambiance is nice for what it is, but Pollo Tropical is sooooo much better we had to tell the manager. Seriously, I called the manager over and told her I loved it and asked when they would come to Jax. They are moving to Tampa first she said, then maybe Jax. Did I talk about the food enough? The sides are good, but standard. Black beans, white or yellow rice, beans and rice, salad, platanos...Oh, they got rid of the tostones (I dunno why). The soup deserves it's own paragraph, cuz if it's hot n fresh, it's really tasty. Has chicken, plantains and other good stuff in it. Oh, Glabella often gets a shrimp skewer as well. It's only ok for me. I usually get the tres leches, but sometimes I'm too full. But it's this traditional Latino white cake drenched in 3 types of cream/milk and I think it's an orgasm in my mouth. Just about every friday at work, instead of eating in our own place, we will go out for lunch. We like to try different things to mix it up and we finally made a visit to Pollo Tropical. We have learned from the number of times we have now gone to leave a little early to avoid the lunch time rush. So far, i have had the TropiChop... basically everything you need or want in one bowl, a number of times. White rice, black beans, choice of meats and toppings... and just recently had the chicken quesadilla salad. I love the bowl combinations. Very tasty and the meats are always moist. The first time I ordered a large one and it was too much to eat! I had to take it home and have the other half for dinner. Since then, I order the small and it is just enough for me. I normally get the mango tea... yummy! The staff is okay and seem to be enjoying their jobs. The manager of the place is a hoot! He is very cheerful and keeps his staff working hard thru the lunchtime crunch! Atmosphere = 5 Service = 8 Food = 8 Pollo Tropical does well for us for a fun and fast lunch. So dirty! I had a bad feeling as soon as I pulled into a parking space. There was garbage all in the space, but didn't think much of it. When we walked in the line was long. As I waited, my gf used the bathroom. She came out and told me how dirty it was. The longer we waited, the more we saw. We thought about leaving and should have! The floor was sticky, most tables had mountains of dirty dishes, and the condiment bar looked like it hadn't been attended to in quite a while. Once we ordered, my gf grabbed a table. Dirty of course, but no dirty dishes like so many others. I stopped by the condiment bar where it was covered in spills and most items were close to running out. As we waited, we noticed that there didn't seem to be a dedicated person to just running food or just cleaning. One woman would run food, then start the bar....which left our food sitting on the counter. While another half heartedly cleaned tables. I watched one man eat his entire meal next to a huge pile of dirty dishes. When he was finished, the guy finally came over and asked if they were all his dishes. The food tasted fine when we did get it, but we both got upset stomachs as soon as we left. So I wouldn't be shocked if the kitchen is kept like the dinning room. They are the most incompetent group of employees regarding all the Pollo Tropical chains. Every drive through order I've placed, they have ignored or not given me a side order that I placed. So in essence they have stolen from me. If I order something and paid for the item and they consistently not given me an item then they are thief's. I don't mind if they mixed an order or gave me a different item since everyone makes mistakes but I won't tolerate thiefs. This locations sucks. The woman taking care of the soda and sauce station had every cabinet open revealing how filthy it was under the cabinet, sauces were empty and gross looking..soda was spilled all over the floor, the Lids, and the counters. PROS: Love the concept. The food was very good. I ordered what they are known for, chicken. It was very good and the sides were enjoyable. The sauce bar was a positive as it offered some fun flavors. CONS: Seriously the service was terrible. The employees did not care that you were there and the general activity behind the counter appeared very disorganized with a couple people not really contributing to the processing of people's orders. Attitude, slow, and a real disdain towards the customer. There needs to be some better training or structure to maximize the process for the kitchen and order fillers.
