I must admit, I used to frequent this location, and I have enjoyed their chicken in the past. At this particular location, I've seen a fight between the staff where they threw cups at each other. I've had to ask several times at the counter inside for the food that I prepaid and ordered through the app, and there have been many incorrect orders. When I've had an incorrect order, I was told to call customer service for a refund. I have called customer service for a refund in the past and they took my information and email and home address but never sent anything or processed a refund. So if your order is wrong and you get overcharged, no one cares and you will not get refunded. I think I'm done going here because they have started skimping on the food quantities too, and when you ask about different sizes, they can't explain anything to you or tell you how many ounces should be in a family serving. So, I guess I'm pretty much done with it, and I advise you not to go to this location in Sanford; the location in Altamonte Springs is OK, but as a whole, I'll probably be avoiding this chain entirely from here on out. read more

Pollo Tropical has really gone down hill. I'm not surprised so many locations are closing. I used to go all the time before Covid. They added sandwiches, but the took away the salsa bar. I ordered a brown rice vase and the mixed it with a huge amount of black bean sauce. I couldn't eat it. Small amount of meat for 15 dollars. Service is also bad. I'm generally a fan of Pollo Tropical, but I'm only giving this location 2 stars because often times the counters, floors, tables and drink stations are filthy. On my last visit, I wouldn't even touch anything in their condiments and salsa section because of how filthy it was, and the "fresh" onions looked horrible sitting in a slimy puddle of liquid. They have black mates on the floor next to the drink station and the salsa counter; and to me, that's just being lazy and avoiding having to mop up spills, and of course it looks terrible! I decided to try the chicken bowl for the first time. My husband absolutely loves it and finds it super delicious. I personally was not a huge fan of the rice. It's sort of a weird mix between yellow rice and stir fry rice. The black beans were pretty good and the bowl itself was a decent size. Quick service was provided via the drive thru. I would say it's a good place if you are someone who loves bowl style meals. There menu had a pretty large variety so there is probably something on there I would've liked more. read more

Gosh, I do love PT going back to when I lived in South Florida during the 90's. Their recipe for fantastic grilled chicken hasn't changed but they've added a bunch of stuff to the menu since then. Skip all of that and stick to what they're very good at - chicken. My half chicken with white rice, black beans and kernel corn went with me back to the hotel for an inexpensive dinner. They did manage to put a cutlery kit into the bag but neglected the napkins. I missed that part but I did fill three plastic cups with chopped onions and salsa and lime juice. These are the essential ingredients that take their chicken and rice from good to great. Tip: You will want to get yourself a side of fried plantains. They're flippin' awesome! Tip: While the drive through might save you some time, you'll miss out on the fixings bar. Park your car and go inside!
