Went here for brunch with my wife and her mom, and it was a great meal. I ordered the rotisserie chicken, my wife had the lomo, and we split the shrimp ceviche to start. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The chicken was juicy, the lomo was cooked perfectly, and the ceviche was a great way to kick things off. We also grabbed a 2-liter of Inca Kola for the table, which always hits the spot with Peruvian food. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It wasn't bad, just a little slow and not very attentive. The food definitely made up for it though, and I'd still come back. If I had walked in for the first time, I might have decided to try a different restaurant instead because it looks like a very small takeout restaurant inside a market. But I placed my first order through Doordash, and I'm glad that I did! We ordered: rotisserie chicken fried yucca lomo saltado with pasta I've been looking for a place that serviced polla a la brasa, and I found it! My forever favorite spot for Peruvian food! This place isn't just delicious, it's nostalgic. I've been coming here since I was little, thanks to my mom, and now I've brought so many loved ones here who end up loving it just as much. It's one of those underrated, hole-in-the-wall gems that I love telling people about. Lomo saltado is the only dish I ever order, and this place set the standard for me growing up. I've tried plenty of other spots, even some really good ones, but nothing hits quite the same. The flavor, the portion, the price -- everything is just so good and incredibly reasonable for the quality. The inside is snug, cozy, and homey. They've got a few dine-in tables as well as shelves stocked with Peruvian snacks, drinks, and pantry products. I love browsing while I wait! Don't let the outside fool you, this place is a gem. Brought a friend to lunch , where she requested and I can see why. The chicken is the star, wood fire with a citrus marinade. The crispy skin compliments the tender, juicy meat. Tried the potato starter and it's something to explore, cheesy sauce with a distinguished taste. Fried plantains go well with any rice, another side dish ordered. This place is worth the drive for pickup, even if you just get the chicken by itself. I think this place offers a great value and good variety on their menu, but it's not the best Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken restaurant LA has to offer. IMO, thier rotisserie chicken was just ok- it needs longer marinade time and more smoky flavor to come through. The "Aji Verde" (Peruvian green sauce) which goes hand in hand with everything on their menu was surprisingly BLAND. It was absent of that garlicky, tart, spicy taste! We were EXTREMELY unhappy with the service we received today. We placed an order for pickup. We ordered the House Special with BANANAS and fries, along with some other dishes. We drove 15 minutes to get to the restaurant. When we got there, they were finishing up the packing. We drove home, and realized they gave us BEANS, instead of BANANAS. We immediately called to let them know. Instead of apologizing for THEIR error, they said that we ordered the BEANS, and not the BANANAS. They're telling us what we ordered, instead of ACKNOWLEDGING that they made the error. Unbelievable. We drove back to the restaurant and the lady continued to say that we ordered BEANS. What??!! I KNOW what we ordered. That was annoying and extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. No apology for the INCONVENIENCE. Never again. I will eat my Peruvian food from another establishment. The food took about 15 minutes to make. While waiting, I took a look at some of their items that they have. There's a lot of items that are imported from Peru that you won't easily find elsewhere. We have been regulars here since my first review, and this place never misses a beat. The service and flavors are incredibly consistent--which is rare to find! Our favorites remain the Lomo Saltado and the Tallarin Saltado, but you cannot leave without trying their desserts. The Alfajores and Picarones are truly out of this world. I paid what was on the menu then they turn around and asked for additional money because they made an error on their part because of the price of eggs going up. I paid exactly what's on the menu it's for the customer fault if you don't correct your prices. Used the Yelp deal for a half chicken w/two sides plus soda for $14. Good deal. I picked it up and went to the park to eat. The chicken was pretty big and really well cooked and seasoned. 5/5 The ahi and chimichurri sauces were excellent. 5/5 The fries and salad were poor. The fries tasted of old oil, like the taste of egg rolls from a fast food Chinese place. Couldn't finish them. The salad was weak. Some shredded lettuce, a couple limp slices of cucumber, and a mushy slice of tomato. And they didn't give me dressing. 0/5 I may try this place again because the chicken was excellent for the price. Maybe the fries were a fluke. Overall, not as good as Western or El Dorado in Pasadena. But closer to me and the chicken was just as good--the sauces better. The 3.7 rating is about right. read more

I called the restaurant then and there and the bullshit response I got was "oh its bcuz the meat is so expensive now, so we do apologize" like wtf!? That is not my problem and something that should have been mentioned BEFORE i paid $90 for a tray of potatoes and peppers!! The SHADIEST part of it all was I was going to pay w my card and the lady at the front Valentina said if I paid cash i get a discount with no taxes, so i said cool in total paid $200 in CASH. Such a great hole in the wall! My brothers were surprised when I told them to pick up chicken from here! It's close to their place and they've never known about this until we told them. This place has really great Peruvian style grilled chicken! This is now my family's go to chicken! Easy, delicious, fast service! And don't forget your onion salad and the awesome green sauce! The meal looked decent but plain at the same time. I cut open the chicken and it has pink inside, no taste and bland. The worse thing, as I chew some of the chicken, i found a piece of thread perhaps the thread that was used to tight up the legs with. Gosh, this might be my new favorite spot in Eagle Rock. It was like being in Peru... I climbed Machu Picchu about 13 years ago and everyday we had the luxury of dining on authentic Peruvian food and fell in LOVE with it.
