Always a great option for the best Peruvian food you can get. There's usually a wait but it's worth it!

People who complain about cleanliness or service must not be LA locals. This place is genuinely the best Peruvian you can get in LA. Don't expect fancy amenities; When going to Marios, you are truly only going for the food. Their chicharron chicken is the most juicy and crispy fried chicken I've ever had, and their Lomo Saltado is genuinely the best Ive ever tasted. Having been to so many Peruvian places in LA, I promise you this is the best. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the food has never disappointed. Portions are as big as ever by the way! Lomo could be split 2 ways for two full adult meals.

Came here for the first time and wow the mixto ceviche is so refreshing!! Also lomo saltado is so comforting to eat. This was my first time trying the noodles with chicken and I love the flavor. It's very light and filling. The portion here are huge! Def Sharable with family and friends. The service was great it felt like I was going into a family house.

Amazing warm bread with butter to start. The ceviche was refreshing, light, and fresh! The lomo saltado is definitely a classic staple to LA. The noodle were also really good especially with their green hot sauce. I will say the workers did not seem the most hospitable in that when we asked to be recommended the most popular dishes we were brushed off and they consistently told us that they would provide Togo boxes when ready while we were still eating but definitely worth visiting once!

This place has been on my to go list for awhile & glad I finally got the opportunity to try it out! WAIT/PARKING: Because it's such a popular spot, be prepared to wait... for a bit. I waited an hour just for single seating on a Saturday night. They get PACKED. It's a tiny plaza & a small restaurant. The parking lot is tough because it's small & limited spots shared with the other businesses in the same plaza. I'd recommend street parking & walking a little in the residential neighborhood. Like anywhere in LA be wary of all the parking signs to avoid a ticket. SERVICE: Great staff, it always amazes me how they can juggle so many tables & orders!! The lady that took my order was quick & efficient. Was about 10-15 min wait in between ordering & getting my food, which isn't bad on a Saturday night when the place is packed to the brim with large parties. The waitresses were friendly & accommodating! FOOD: Ordered the ceviche de pescado & lomo saltado ! Great size portions, I came starving but ended up with leftovers for the next day. Ceviche was nice & tart, & love how they stacked up on the red onions. I thought it was interesting that they added celery(?) - it was my first time having Peruvian ceviche with a decent amount of celery in it. Classic potato on the side though I do wish it was sweet potato instead! Lomo is a must try at Mario's. Great portion of meat & I liked how saucy it was. Again love the amount of onions I got too. I recommend drenching the lomo in the spicy green sauce for even more flavor. Overall I'd eat here again. Maybe just take out though because the wait was kinda nuts. But they can't help that they're just that popular!!

NEW HIDDEN FEES! SCAM!! BEWARE!!!! Been coming here Forever. Never again. They have raised their prices so much and when you order to go they charge you a secret 3$fee on top of it and don't tell you. I said excuse me since when is it 30$ for one shrimp Saltado? She gave me The price and then I asked so where did the other charges come from? She then told me they charge a 3$ fee for using your "credit card" which is actually ILLEGAL. When you start running scams like this on your longtime customers or even any customer in general it is the beginning of the end for You. Disgusting and unethical behavior. 30$ for French fries with 4 pieces of shrimp. Evil

This has always been our go to Peruvian food since 2018! Its one of those hole in the wall places. Almost everything we'rentried here is very good but our most favorite is the Lomo Saltado. Whenever we are in downtown or anywhere close we always try to go and eat here. The staff here are really nice, very attentive and friendly. Be warn though, this place gets really busy especially in peak hours so be patient but I can assure you it's worth the wait!!

This is our first time trying Mario's. My fiancée and I have heard how good it is. So we put it to the test. We went during lunch hours. Surprisingly, it wasn't crazy busy. But the parking situation was bad. We had to look for parking on the street since their parking area was very small and shared with other establishments. But besides that, they let us choose our seats. Service was quick. They brought out the menus, then drinks. They started you off with some bread. Might I add their bread is sooo soft and delicious? Most places their bread is hard. If you go to any Peruvian spot, you know you have to go with their Lomo Saltado. The Lomo Saltado; Where do I start? Easily the best Lomo Saltado I have ever had. The plate was full of flavor. The meat was tender and juicy. The fries, onions, and tomatoes were soaked in the juices. Delicious!!! FLAVOR!! The rice was just plain white rice, not a bad thing because you're getting plenty of flavor with the meat. It just levels everything perfectly. I practically left my plate empty, which I never do, and still ate some of my fiancée's food, since she was already full. Big back activities. They don't hold back on their portions. We could have easily shared one plate for the both of us. If you like your food with a nice spicy kick, I highly recommend their green sauce. It gave the food an extra kick of flavor. It's quite spicy, so don't go crazy. My fiancée told me to give it a try, and I'm so glad I gave it a go. The ambience was quite nice. It seemed like a lot of office people come here. We felt a little bit out of place, but the service was A++, and the prices weren't too crazy. Definitely reasonable. Overall, I would say Mario's Peruvian & Seafood has earned a special place in my heart, and I will definitely keep coming back to have their tasty Lomo Saltado again.

Always great food at Mario's. Haven't been back in years so I'm glad it's still the same that I remembered. The green sauce is what really makes it stand out imo. Parking can get a bit tricky so just be prepared for that. In the past the place would get so packed during lunch but when I went on Tuesday it wasn't nearly as packed. All in all still a solid choice for Peruvian.

The Ceviche they served us - this is NOT the way Peruvian ceviche is made.

The ceviche's here are horrible. It was not appealing and a lot of items used in traditional Peruvian ceviche were missing - on top of this the server Lupita took too long to serve the table and was kicking us out while finishing our food. Try to avoid to the place and go to another Peruvian restaurant. They don't sell Maracuya, Chicha Morada, or Picarones. The service is horrible. Not worth the wait

My husband heard of this restaurant after reading an article about ordering the specialty dish at LA restaurants. We came in on a Wednesday evening, and they have very limited parking in the lot so we found street parking by the school. We got the last available table, great timing! This place was happening with several to go orders getting picked up. It had a neighborhood feel and our server was friendly and helpful. We asked what was popular and she rattled off the 2 most popular numbers! My daughter and I ordered lomo saltado to share and my husband ordered the same dish but with shrimp. It was delicious! The steak with the veggies over fried was just so good and the flavors worked well together. And we all tried the spicy aji verde sauce, and loved it! It just elevated the dish even more. We tried to find out what's in it but our server said she didn't know, some guy comes in the morning to make it and leaves! This is definitely a specialty dish worth coming in and back for.

Hot take, certain Peruvian dishes like lomo saltado, pollo Ala brasa, bistec Ala pobre, or any comfort meals type dish made in US Peruvian restaurants especially in SoCal and specifically at Mario's is a tad better than the ones I've tried I Peru(says the guy who's only been to Peru once) Parking sucks it's LA, lots of people parking on red curbs willing to risk it for Mario's. Saw lots of people chowing down on Mario's take out in their car. Took about 20min to get through the line, I've seen much longer for dinner. I've been frequenting Mario's for 15+ years and it always hits the spot. Starting with their spicy Aji sauce over the bread(wish they had butter but honestly the green sauce totally stands alone. I went with the steak Lomo Saltado with fried egg(extra). The dish is has a unique and amazing blend of Asian and Latin flavors: filled with umami, sweet, spicy, and the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness from the tomatoes. The beef was nicely done with a great sear on the outside but still not over done and left amazingly tender. Fries had a nice crisp on the exterior and fluffy on the Interior. I asked for an over medium egg cuz who doesn't want more yolky umami? Bonus, the serving size is huge! come and share or order your own for leftovers the next day(tip: the flavor stays the same but texturally not the same) All in all an amazing meal at Mario's come get you some Peruvian food here asap! I need to go back to Peru if you've been lmk bout your go to joints in Lima Cusco or where ever!

    No, they do not.

Are they actually open?? I keep calling to order ahead and nobody answer?

Yes, they are open for pick up and delivery. If they don't answer, I suggest visiting INTI up the block. They are also great!

I don't think so. We've been calling and driving by. Seems closed.

Does anyone know if they are open right now for takeout?

Yes they are open for takeout. Just ordered (Saturday 4/25)

Has anyone order food for take out during the last week/stay at home orders?

We ordered it on Mother's Day for take out only!

Are they still open during this stay at home order?

I drove by yesterday (Saturday) around 11:30am and it was closed... Not sure about the weekdays.

    Do they deliver?

    They don't deliver

    Do they cater?

Yes, best Peruvian food in LA.

Are they open during Labor Day?

    Don't really know 😎

When I finally logged into Yelp to do just that, I was genuinely saddened to see that this place has since closed. It honestly broke my heart, because this was one of those dining experiences that truly stayed with me. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was stunning--beautiful rooftop vibes, warm energy, and a space that immediately made you feel like you were about to experience something special. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the care, creativity, and intention behind each bite. The Peruvian inspiration throughout the menu was both authentic and elevated, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the chef herself coming out to introduce herself. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate. You could tell she truly poured her heart into her food. She took the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and it made the entire meal feel even more meaningful. That level of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. Looking back at these photos now just reminds me how special this place was. Delicious food, a talented and thoughtful chef, and an overall experience that left a lasting impression. It's such a shame this spot is no longer around, because it truly deserved all the love and recognition. If the chef ever opens another concept, I will absolutely be first in line. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. I am so happy I finally got to try Dama! I absolutely love Antonia LaFasso so I've been dying to…read moretry one of her restaurants. Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

We've probably been to Dama two dozen times. It's one of our regular spots and we love it…read more First of all the service is always great. The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.
