I hate when I spend my hard earned income in a place that doesn't appreciate me as a customer. I can pick any place to eat and that day I picked this place. Came here to pick up food for lunch, specifically the open face hot Turkey which is getting harder to find nowadays.... Walked in to a very well stocked bar on the side of the restaurant where the possible owner/manager served me, and had a delicious Bloody while I waited for my sandwich to go. The quality of the food that I received is top notch; thick Turkey breast, super juicy, thick bread underneath and home made mashed potatoes with some of the best gravy I've had in a long time. I was in the area doing some errands and choose this restaurant based on reviews. Upon entering the front doors are very dirty. I had my toddler with me and the first high chair given to me had a broken strap to hold him in his seat. I asked for a new high chair and the second seat they brought me was disgusting, it was so dirty. I ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes and hashbrowns. Thr hashbrowns were the best part of the meal and they were just standard. The lemon blueberry pancakes had a terrible artificial lemon flavor to them. I really thought they would put really lemon like they do at the restaurant honeymilk. The blueberries on top were the smallest blueberries I've ever seen. Now on to the service..... The service was horrible and they were not even that busy. The waitress never once asked if I wanted coffee and after she brought the food never once came back to see how the food was or ask if I needed anything. She literally stood at the end of the row and just starred. I really wish this restaurant was up to the reviews but it's just not. They need to work on service and cleanliness. read more

My wife and I found this restaurant many years ago then the pandemic set in and they closed very early. We thought we'd look see if they were staying open later on Saturday which many places in the area that serve breakfast close way to soon. Walla they were open till 4 PM on the weekends and they allow you to spit a plate for a $1.50 extra if your not heavy eaters. Sadly disappointing. We recently moved to the area and Pomegranate is the closest restaurant to us and one we looked forward being able to walk to and enjoy a nice weekend brunch. This was far from the case. Now, I understand there is a labor shortage in food service, but with proper management there are ways to mitigate that. And customers are typically more understanding if you tell them that ahead of time so they know what to expect. After waiting a considerable time to have someone come to our table, the food also took almost an hour to arrive. We were never informed they were backed up, short staffed, or given any other explanation that would excuse that wait. When the food finally arrived, it was not prepared correctly. None of the eggs in two entrees were poached correctly - they all had hard, solid yolks. The server didn't seem to be too bothered about it. When I asked to speak to the manager after an even longer wait of not seeing our server, another server I asked disappeared and never came back. When I asked again, the first server told me he was not there. I find no manager on a busy weekend brunch service to be a bit suspicious and can only assume he was too much of a coward to listen to a customer's issues. I sent my dish back and we left. They did not charge us for anything, didn't give us a check, and the server never came back to our table. We would have gladly left a tip based on what our total would have been (it wasn't the server's fault the food was overcooked,) as well as paid for the drinks and the third entree that had no issues and was eaten, but they didn't give us that opportunity. It was a highly disturbing way to conduct business and the experience soured the birthday weekend. We won't be returning. Also, I get that the restaurant's name is "Pomegranate," but having ever single piece of wall art in the joint be of a pomegranate was a bit overkill and tacky. read more

Honestly, this is a place I like. However, the last two or three times I've come here the service has been not up to par. The last time we came here, it took over 5 minutes for a waitress to come to the table and she wasn't even the actual waitress. The actual one showed up with our food at one point but never introduced themselves to us. The food is honestly still very good. However, I asked for some diced up cucumber and feta to add to my sandwich. I was a told there would be an extra charge for both. I agreed because I truly thought the charge wouldn't be unreasonable. Well, safe to say I was wrong. I was charged $1.75 for a small condiment size amount of feta cheese AND $1.50 for some diced up cucumber. Truly...was floored. I could buy a whole cucumber for under a $1...I would get .50 cents for the cucumber and .75 to maybe $1 for the cheese. I know inflation is an issue but I'm sorry, this is just ridiculous. The waitresses need to be UPFRONT and honest about these extra charges!!! I want to say that I will come again. But I do have a three strikes and your out policy. And this was the third strike in terms of the customer service. read more

I've been here several times and after today I have mixed emotions about the food. Let's start with the other aspects, however. Every visit the atmosphere among the wait staff was friendly and inviting. I've never had a dirty booth, glass, fork, whatever. The service is on point and timely. All good things. There are a few dishes I have enjoyed here- in particular the southwest frittata is amazing! There are a few I wouldn't recommend, Ever. I've now tried the french onion twice and it wasn't great the first time but it was completely unpalatable this time. The roast beef for the open faced sandwich was Philly style hot beef and au jus style. The gravy was thick, salty, and red brown. It screamed prepacked goo. I would suspect the same for the open faced turkey sandwich. Very disappointed with the lunch fare. Next time I'll stick with breakfast dishes. I'd still recommend this place. Just make sure your food is cooked fresh from scratch. read more

I've now been there 4 times and it's a solid breakfast spot, the pancakes are good, I wish when you get the upgraded flavored ones there was more sauce but oh well. My favorite dish is the Biscuits and gravy skillet with eggs, so nice to have crunchy hash browns baked on the bottom of the skillet with a delicious helping of gravy poured over the biscuit. I stopped by for eggs Benedict and I was specific when I asked my waitress to make certain my English muffin and my had brown's crispy but no one got that message apparently because my breakfast came out made incorrectly. The family works the place. The waitresses are kind and honest with you about what is particularly good that day. (Ours was so friendly, patient, and helpful, even though it was almost closing time. No rush. No worries. So nice!) The food was good. The plates were stacked with big portions. It's what you expect from an old school diner or Greek family restaurant, but those are getting fewer and fewer out there.
