Flew in from San Diego with my son and the whole trip I was telling him that my favorite go to Pizza was Pontillo's.My sister tried to talk me out of ordering from this place in Spencerport NY but I was not going to get any pizza but Pontillo's.She ordered two extra large pizzas..one with pepperoni and one which was my favorite sausage.Also CRISPY chicken wings.The extra large pizza came WITHOUT SAUSAGE and the chicken wings were not CRISPY.She called the place today and they didn't offer anything for their mistakes.Told her the next time to ask for Tony.if Tony is the manager he should be fired for sending out products that were not up to the standards that made me ask for Pontillo's.He just lost 12 people who were at the gathering who will never order from Pontillo's again.Its called CUSTOMER SERVICE...PERIOD!Read the other reviews also...SAD! read more

Pontillo's used to have quality pizza slices. Unfortunately, during a recent visit over lunch hours, I was disappointed by both the pizza. The slices were mediocre at best, lacking the freshness and flavor I remember. Additionally, the customer service was subpar--one staff member in particular appeared visibly unhappy. read more

They've got slices (and slice/ soda combos) available all day, rather than just at lunch. The crust is thin and crispy if you eat it fast enough. I often ask for it to be in the oven just a little longer. Once I went in late and the girl tried to keep her latex gloves (she was mopping when I came in) on while getting my pizza. Not everyone is a genius. She responded fine to my asking her to take them off. read more

I'll start this review by saying Pontillo's has been my favorite pizza since I was a kid. Lately their quality seems to be more and more variable across locations. That said, Pontillo's should remove their name from the Spencerport location! My last three experiences here have been poor. The first time the pizza tasted off, but was tolerable. The second time they were closed. No message on the machine, no sign on the door, just closed during normal hours. Last night we ordered pizza and wings. The wings had no sauce. Similar to what another review mentioned, it was butter or oil only. Absolutely no flavor...not to mention the least appetizing celery I've seen in a long time. The pizza was burned on the bottom and the toppings were a mess. Whoever made this pizza has absolutely zero interest in their job and quality control is non-existent. I would have been disappointed by this food from anywhere, but from my favorite pizza place? Sad. read more

The pontillos in Spencerport reopened recently, I am not sure if they have opened under new management or not. The people who run the front end are very friendly. I got a slice and it was pretty mediocre, like it was made a long time before. That was probably my fault for coming during non peak hours. They have Pepsi products, in bottles or fountain. They also have lunch specials that are 2 slices and a drink for $8 or a slice and a foundation beverage for $5.50. It is even cheaper for the local high school students, which is nice. Pontillos has a few high top tables for eating in. The phone number has changed from the old one, so be sure to change it if you used to call for deliveries. They do have coupons sometimes, or they sell manager's special books around the holidays. Those books typically have awesome deals like buy a pizza, get one free, bogo calzones, etc. It pays for itself. I'm glad that they reopened, and hope that they find success in 2016. read more

Again, a different kind of review because I've only had the sliced pizza for lunch. Store closed and then reopened and you know what....the pizza is still very good. Pontillo's is one of those styles that get even better when they reheat it. Dough soft and FRESH and the bottom achieves the perfect crispness without being burnt. I appreciate the fact that cornmeal dusting is used for nonstick pie movement. Slices are at the perfect size now as well. I can have two and not drop into a food coma. I need to try other items but I really like the pizza. read more

I placed an order last night, and was told my order didn't get delivered because there was a mix up, and it would be out soon. I received the order over an hour late. And, when I was finally able to reach someone (because they wouldn't answer my call last night), The manager lied and said I wasn't in the system, and she didn't get an address. But, when I repeated my phone, it was miraculously in the system, who would've thunk it after ordering for years from there. The food is awful, but, there's not many choices nearby. They delivered an old pizza to us, and refused to refund my order. I received a cold pizza and they refused to take the call. Do not order from here, they do not respect their customers. read more

I'm only giving this location 3 stars only because when the youngsters are working you will get any old thrown together food. On the other hand when the older bald guy is working you will get amazing service and well put together food. (Presentation is a must for me)Meaning a pizza crust that isn't hard a as brick, over cooked and looks as though a toddler made it out of play doh. Very disappointed tonight. One of the pizzas was paper thin (did not order thin crust) and had the wrong toppings. It wasn't cooked properly and tasted like cheap frozen pizza. The plain pizza was fine, as was the chicken fingers. The chicken wings were meaty but I asked for light sauce and there was so much sauce it spilled out into the bag. There are more than a few places in Spencerport to order pizza. The people who run this place should take note of that. The last 3 times I ordered pizza here it was real skimpy. I mentioned that to them the last time I ordered pizza and it was worse than the 2 times before. I also ordered wings with extra celery and blue cheese. I got 2 pc cups of blues cheese and 5 little pieces of celery about an inch long. I ordered them mild buffalo and they looked and tasted like they coated them in oil or something. They had no buffalo taste to them. The celery was in one of the 2 small portion areas of the styrofoam container completely submerged in some kind of clear hot liquid. They were all soft and not good. I don't think I'm going back. I'm going to try the other places for awhile. I tipped the driver $5.00. I should have looked at my food first. read more

Please note, this review is based on the chicken wings only. The wings themselves were decent (got the medium buffalo and garlic and parm). But I was disappointed about the price. The menu online says the wings are about $1 less than I was charged. When this was brought up to the cashier, she replied that the menu hasn't been updated online in quite a while. She said that management doesn't seem to care, and she gets that complaint all the time from customers. Please update the online menu!! (Also, the celery with the wings was terrible - tasted as though it had been frozen and the thawed because it was very watery and wimpy). read more

Living in the Rochester area, there are so many pizza places to choose from. For some reason Pontillos has always been my favorite, it takes me back to Fridays when I was a kid and my Dad bringing home Pontillos. All that being said the Pontillos in Spencerport just reopened and they have some work to do. The pizzas are not consistent yet, sometimes burned, sometimes not enough cheese. But I will say it keeps getting better, so there is hope in sight. Their wings need some work too, there is little to no crisp and way to much sauce. If you're from Upstate NY, you know Pontillo's pizza... the problem is this franchise lost their touch over the years. Most Pontillo's franchises have and it is hard to find one with the old-school recipes that made them so good in the 80's and 90's. Crust is OK, sauce has lost it's taste over the years, wings are just OK. Best thing is that they do give you the option for the small round curling pepperoni on your pies. read more

Ordered an Italian Assorted Sub and Hot Boneless Wings on 12/22/14 for take-out. The sub was nothing short of awful. The bread was tough,chewy, and seemed to be the only ingredient. There were barely four slices of meat and a sprinkle of wet lettuce that a rabbit would turn his nose up to. If that wasn't enough I found myself having to pull salami casing from within the sub. The boneless wings were pretty good and what I would expect... but I don't know how you could mess that up. Seems like the issue is a lack of supervision with the teeny boppers they have working in Spencerport. I have never had a bad experience at the Chili location. read more

10:30 on a Saturday night. I call twice with no answer. 3rd time they answer and take my order. I ask for a dozen wings. The guy tells me they're closed. I say your hours are till 11. He says they've already turned off the fryers. I live near by so I walked over. All the lights were on and the place has multiple people in it. The owner should look into this. We went in to get subs this afternoon. Horrible. It was all bread, 1 slice of meat, no cheese, barely any lettuce, they don't carry mustard, they forgot items on each sub. I purchased a large pizza and wings on 2/25/12 at the Spencerport location. I specificaly asked the person taking the order to make sure the pizza was not overcooked. When the pizza arrived the bottom was burned and the crust was overcooked/ burned. I called and spoke to the female manager and explained the situation. She said that is how they cook their pizza and maybe I would learn to like it that way. I don't think an employee should tell a customer how they should eat their pizza. I asked for the owners name and she hung up on me. I recalled and spoke to a male employee and he said he agreed with his female counterpart and also hung up on me! The owner of this establisment should employ people with customer skills and these two employees should be reprimanded for their discourtesy. We called for a steak sub on Saturday June 17th at 5:30. Within 5 minutes they called back to tell us they didn't any sub rolls. This is the second time they've done this to us. We've ordered their wings a few times. The people that answer the phone sound make it sound like they despise their customers, though they are ok in person. First time we placed an order one of the wings had a broken bone. Family went "Ewww, what's that?" Thought it was just one of those things. Second time we ordered, one of the wings had a broken bone again. Family went "Ewww" again. Third time same thing. Now we knew it wasn't a coincidence. How often do you see a broken bone in your wings? Never. 4th time we ordered I said "And please make sure there are no broken bones in the wings". I preorderd a sheet pepperoni pizza and 2 dozen wings for a group of Teenage boys yesterday. When the driver came he brought a small pizza and the wings and said that will be $52. Ummmm....doesnt that sound wrong? I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He said the phone girl wrote it up wrong and he would put my order in front of all the others. I said ok...mistakes happen. 45 min later and no pizza. I called back and a girl answered. When i asked when i could expect the pizza she said "its hot in here and im dealing with someone else. Your pizza is on its way." Then she hung up on me. I called back to speak to the manager because she was so rude. He then told me that he made a large and not a sheet! He would put another large in but it will be another 20 min. Told me 2 larges equal a sheet (thats a lie). I asked him why the girl told me it was on its way and he stuttered. The pizza came and it was still wrong! there was no pepperoni and one was very cold because it had been sitting there. There was not enough to feed these hungry boys. I asked him if this meal would be comped and he said give us $25. I was pretty upset. Gave the driver a $20 and tipped him because it wasnt his fault. I will never order from them again. read more
