I came here for dinner with my family. The place was a well lit, casual restaurant. It was bustling for dinner. I wouldn't recommend for a date considering the ambiance, but it's great for dinner with friends or family. As appetizers we had the taramasalata which was good and the special that day which were Dolmades with ground beef in some kind of lemon sauce which were amazing. For dinner I had the Lamb Chop platter. The lamb was very well cooked and quite tasty. The tzatziki sauce left much to be desired. It looked and tasted more like mayonnaise. The chopped up tomatoes were good. The pita bread was fine, tasted store bought. The other two dishes on the table were a disappointment. The calamari while crunchy came with no sauce and so it was quite boring. The same could be said for the catch of the day fish. One other thing, I accidentally spilled my water and it splashed down onto the floor. A server came out with a bucket and a sponge, not a mop, and knelt on the ground next to me slowly sopping up the water with his tiny sponge. It was INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. If they were aiming to make me feel like a giant a**hole for spilling my water, they succeeded. I don't understand why they couldn't use a mop. I can't imagine there is anything more awkward then having someone kneeling on the floor cleaning while you're sitting there at dinner. read more

I enjoyed the gyro platter. Everything was seasoned nicely. I thought they nailed the tzatziki sauce. The staff was pleasant and the establishment was clean. Parking was a bit confusing there is a huge parking lot across the street but it looked to be private. Don't let that stop you from checking this restaurant. Service seems family run and very nice. Restaurant was sort of empty. They give out many groupons. Seems to me the place is struggling. Menu was limited. No Spanikopita, no Lemon potatoes. The combo meat platter was Market Priced. A few other things were Market Priced. Trying to keep food costs down? We had a salad. It was good. I have had better salads for less $. We had a gyro sandwich and a chicken souvlaki sandwich. The food was ok. As a matter of fact, our entire experience was just ok. Not bad, just not Wow'd. What could they have done better? Simplicity at its best! We visited pontos with a Groupon or living social sometime ago and found the food to be really good then, but hadn't tried any of their an trees at the time. Just remembering how good it was made us come back when a craving for good Mediterranean food kicked in. We had mousaka and the warm fete cheese dip as appetizer and shared the branzino special. That feta dip has to be one of my all time favorites in any restaurant. And we eat out a lot! It's that good! The combination of ingredients is perfection and it bakes in its own juices in the foil. Can't say enough about this dish. Mousaka was really good too. The branzino was a filet lightly floured and pan fried. Again the seasoning for this dish was perfect too! This would be a our go to place from now on. Another nearby one is Paella. read more

I have been a huge fan of this place for the past four years. I have turned on my family to it my boyfriend's family. I feel like lately they are resting on their laurels the reason for the 1 star is as follows: as soon as A Fairfield County restaurant becomes known for having amazing food, I feel like they become complacent Had dinner there tonight - food was greasy fish/meets overcooked and communication with the server was not great. Last week my lamb was overcooked, the branzino was overcooked and dry, and cabbage salad was served on a warm plate. Every time we go, Greek salad amazing but (feta cucumber tomato onion olives ) was served on a warm plate as was my house white wine (served in a warm glass (?)) I'm pretty obsessed about the salad so it was disappointing to get beautiful ripe tomatoes cucumbers and perfect purple onions chopped crisp on a warm plate on a hot summer day:( This is definitely an oversight on their part as it seems to be combination of the chef in regard to the meats and the servers in regard to plating. I hope things change because as I said, I literally go there three times a month and my family / extended family goes quite a bit as well I will try again - believe it or not Sunday or Tuesday this week coming and refresh this review read more

Wow. This food at this place is so good. I loved everything we ordered. Nothing disappointed. The soup was dee-lish, the salad was fresh and lemony and the grilled octopus was to die for. The only downer was that since the octopus was a "special appetizer" the price was not on the menu. I didn't think to ask about the price when the server went over the specials, and when we got the check, it turned out to be $25.00!!!! Suggestion; if you order anything that is not on the menu, remember to ask how much it is. It was good, but had I known the price, I would have thought about it twice. This is a hidden gem. Unfortunately, at this writing, the restaurant is putting up with major construction occurring in what used to be a parking lot for diners. Please don't let that dissuade you from going in ... you can park on Wall Street and walk the short distance it takes to get to the restaurant on Isaac Street or you can park a little farther away on Isaac Street, near Audiotronics. The food here is excellent, the servers are sweet, the prices are very reasonable, and yesterday, along with my delicious lunch, I got a salad with tomatoes that were right from a garden. Great food, good value, very friendly staff and lively atmosphere- limited menu but everything on it is done well. The country Greek salad was my favorite thing we had and the tzatiki with pita was a close second. It took us right back to eating in Athens this past summer! Great value, food. I judge places for what they are. Pontos is simple, not much atmosphere, but if you want top notch authentic Greek food at a great price, this is the spot. Have been there three times and each was wonderful. From the Pita bread dipping sauces, to the standard Gyros and Souvlaki, to the specials, then finishing with the awesome deserts, you absolutely can't go wrong. Only problem is it's too popular. Pontos was great. Lived in Norwalk 10 years and have never done anything in that area of Norwalk except the library. the food was beyond fabulous. Had the meat platter with a variety of 4 or 5 meats and pita. The best lamb chops i ever had. I grew up with a Greek best friend whose dad was a cook in a Greek restaurant. I never had Greek food like this. We went with 4 adults and 3 kids, 9,5,and 4. everyone was happy. the bill with tip, appetizer, food and drinks was under 150$. and well worth every penny. i see myself as a regular. read more

I travel all over the country and love Greek food. The grilled octopus was world class. Tender and seasoned to perfection, an absolute must have! I started with the country salad and it couldn't have been fresher or bigger. Enough for two or three to share. The lite dressing was perfecto! My entree was the lamb chops. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and wonderfully seasoned, but not spicy. The wait staff was exceptional on all points. Attentive and great with suggestions.
