Not only is their staff super sweet, considerate and kind to the pups (and their humans), but what I most appreciated was that they are very accommodating and understanding. My dog gets anxiety of being inside a crate. They made sure to not have him inside the crate but rather take him for a shower right away (with an appt) and call me few minutes before he was actually done so they didn't have to put him in a crate. I am very upset. Even though I mentioned to them several times not to touch the ears or tail they still proceeded to cut the ears. The ears were in perfect condition, they weren't tangled or messed up and it made me very upset when they didn't follow any of the directions i gave them, but even though they asked if i had any special requests and even wrote down what i told them in big letters, I even mentioned i had a bad experience the last place I went to and they told us they wouldn't touch the ears at all. They also called back an hour later telling me to pick the dog up so I don't believe they took their time, I think they rushed it and tried to finish fast. Once i told them i was upset it's almost like they didn't really care, they said "all i can do is just apologize." I do not recommend anyone come to this place. read more

Not sure what happened to this company. I believe someone else bought it over the past year. I've been taking my dog here since I first got her nine years ago. I very specifically ask that they NOT cut the hair on the top of her head. As an Aussie Doodle, when she gets that Spring trim, its always been a part of her character to have the long hair on top. Again, in 9 years, she's never been trimmed up there. As usual, I dropped her off and specifically gave directions. They took pictures from my phone of how exactly I wanted her top trimmed and I left her. About an hour later, I get a call saying they want to trim her head. I thanked them for asking but again, specifically told them NOT to trim her head. When I pick her up, the guy at the desk sheepishly says the groomer shaved her head anyway. WHAT??!!?? How many times to you need to give direction? I asked to see the groomer himself who came out to meet me. He simply didn't care, have an excuse or any remorse. Who the hell does he think he is? Not only that, but the top of her head has a giant cut that took a month to heal into a giant scab. I asked to speak with the owner, who basically didn't really think it was a big deal. WHAT??!? When you leave your beloved dog with a groomer, it's a matter of trust. They certainly betrayed that trust. As far as I'm concerned, this place is lucky I'm not suing them for injuring my dog and not giving two s--ts about my wishes. They certainly could have given me the choice of NOT taking her there if they didn't want to follow my direction. Absolutely appalling service. There's a lot of companies out there willing to respect their clients' trust. Never again. read more

The service we requested wasn't terrible, so this review is mostly based off of the customer service we received. I wasn't there when my boyfriend dropped our dog off, but he called me right after and was extremely worried. This building isn't the nicest according to him (which doesn't deter me because it's not like it's in a sketchy neighborhood or anything) but what bothered him the most was the person that helped him check in and how small the building was. The back, where the dogs are presumably kept, was easily visible from the front store and it seemed super packed. When I went I agreed, didn't seem like a whole lot of room for the dogs but hey, maybe there was more we weren't seeing? The guy that helped my boyfriend wasn't friendly at all. I think he was the owner based off of other reviews. Maybe he was stressed because it seemed to be only him there but no smile or even a "Hi how can I help you?" He just took our dog and our boyfriend gave him his info and weirdly, the guy had my boyfriend remove our dog's collar and harness. THAT is concerning to me. Why do that? Because they can't do it themselves? If they can't handle removing a dog's collar or harness then what does that say about how they handle grooming them? I was there when we picked our dog up and while the building isn't as bad as my boyfriend made it out to be, there is only street parking so it wasn't very convenient. There were two young women that helped us check out and their service was sliiiiightly better. One didn't say anything and just stared at us the whole time - she went back and got our dog but just??? Let her out?? Like thank goodness no one was coming in the front door because since our dog didn't have her leash, she could've escaped! At other grooming salons they usually are holding our dog and hand her over. Our dog isn't even very big, she's a 15 pound terrier. But this woman just let her out. That was a big red flag. Again, thankfully no one was entering or leaving the store when this happened. The other woman who ACTUALLY helped us was nice, but wore her mask under her chin. If you're not going to wear your mask at all times when working then please at least wear it for the 10 minutes a customer is present. I can't believe that needs to be said. She had us fill out paperwork we were supposed to have filled out when checking our dog in but I honestly shouldn't have wasted her time doing that because we don't plan on coming back. Overall, I do NOT recommend this place. Yes, our dog was bathed and the service rendered was just fine but we were also only asking for the most basic bathing service - how can anyone mess that up. Again, this review is mostly based on their customer service. I consider it bad enough to not go back again. There are plenty of other pet salons that can do the job correctly AND be pleasant/professional while doing so. read more

We used to go to Pooch Pawlor regularly before Covid, but it seems that the quality has gone down tremendously based off our most recent visit. We brought our huskie along with his sibling there, specified that we wanted to make sure they would be groomed out, and unfortunately they didn't even seem to be slightly brushed out - upon bringing them home we went through three vacuum cans worth of hair we brushed out (per dog). Also not all the nails were trimmed on each dog, which is puzzling because on some legs it was complete, and on others they were not. We would have gladly paid an extra premium if there was an additional (although we already paid for the bath + de-shedding) service for dogs of this type or level of hair - but alas now we are tasked with finding a new groomer as we're hesitant to spend a couple hundred dollars to repeat the same negative experience. I do hope that they get better and back on track with how they used to be before. read more
