Now they (Jeff and Asia) work as "designers" for Calimingo and refuse to even finish their job as owners of pool logic. DO NOT HIRE! Hired them to do my backyard. They took longer than expected but I was patient. They finished project and we're told everything was in order. Two months later HOA informed us they did not comply. Contacted PL they said they were on it and it would solve (all documented). Got email informing us all solved. 5 months later HOA again. Nothing solved. Contacted PL they guaranteed they would solve it. All information submitted. FALSE. Did not resolve. Again contacted them. Promised they would straighten out. Again lied. They leave me no recourse than to sue them. Avoid this nightmare and avoid them. read more

I would not recommend this company. They have no idea what they're doing when it comes to pool remodels and the level of craftsmanship is very poor- they don't manage their contracted workers. In addition, they told us permits would take a month and a half to two months and when we called the city they said that they are ready to go but the pool company never returned their phone call. This is just one example of the nightmare that we had with this company. We should've known from the start because it took 10 versions of one quote to even get the work on the contract correct. Don't use them or you'll throw your money down the toilet. They also destroyed our plaster when they said it would stay in good condition until they could finish the work. We interviewed several pool companies before choosing to go with the team at Pool Logic & no one compared when it came to listening to our goals, desires and needs. The communication and timelines were on point thru the whole process, even with me adding to the project as it went along. How do I get my money back for incomplete work? The pool contract was written in a way that when your last payment is due, a lot more will still be pending, and they just abandoned the work and walked away. Very disappointed in this company. 100k remodel, add spa, etc etc. The entire project took almost 8 months due to delays, bad craftsmanship, no shows. The communication is a joke. The project manager was a joke, how can you manage a project if you never show up to supervise the crews? She was friendly but her role was errand runner she would show up for 10 minutes collect money or less and then say she has another job to go to. Knowledgeable and friendly but that only goes so far. I want a project manager that is going to show up everyday and expect tasks to get done or targets to get hit every day. The tile work was a joke, the polymeric sand that locked the pavers together had to be done twice, the bubblers still don't work. The mini pebble plaster has foot prints all in the shallow end from the crew. Two stars only because the spa came out well and the pool doesn't leak water. Don't trust there fancy upscale photos on there web site. read more

Kept our project hanging for 1 and 11/2 years, took a large amount of money as second installment and now they are bankrupt and haven't shown up for work. Multiple complaints. Call California board and ask. They said they are being acquired by Calamingo pools so look out for that. Don't give these crooks your hard earned money. Pool Logic not only did our custom pool, they also gave our backyard space a total transformation. They are great for the customer who prefers working closely and creatively with the contractor and being regularly involved in the many aspects of the project. Pool installation is a major undertaking in which folks must be prepared for the many unexpected challenges that may arise. We faced our fair share of issues and in the end, the result was fantastic. I had great fun working with Adrian on the design and with Pedro throughout the entire process. Malkiel was committed to making sure that each and every complication we faced got addressed. Their masons and pebble tech sub-contractors did an amazing job as well. Now it's time to simply float and forget life for a while. read more

We have very frustrating experience with Pool Logic. We have signed a contact with them in October last year and our pool is still not done. We would not recommend this company to anyone, building a pool with them is like "pooling teeth". They asked for money upfront, they ask for more money after, they put our project on hold for months, they do not want to correct their mistakes, poor customer service and no communication. We got 3 bids for a pool and liked Pool Logic's pricing and the fact they had great yelp reviews, so went with them. I would say from the beginning the communication was very poor. It was a very long and frustrating process for us. We had a pretty basic rectangular pool and were told it would be a 4 month process, 1 month for permitting and hoa approval, 3 month construction time. They didn't apply for permits until after 1 month. There was not delay from the city, they just said needed a soils test, which we went with who pool logic recommended and that took 1 month to get back. They ended up starting to dig 4 months after we signed a contract and then received final permit 6 months after that, so it was a 10 month process and even after that there were some items left on the punch list not complete until August, but at least they came back and finished it. I did like all the people that worked for Pool logic, it seemed liked they wanted to do a good job, but didn't have the man power and systems in place. Over 60% of the time they said someone would show up to work, no one would, without notification and if someone did show up, they didn't seem to know what they were supposed to do, which wasn't surprising, because the plans they had to go off were incorrect. There were several times things were done incorrectly and no one would come to the site to check their work, so I felt it was up to me to keep an eye on everything. Towards the very end the communication started to improve due to a new hire. So the process was not good, very chaotic and unorganized, but they didn't argue with me when I said they did something wrong, they did correct it. Overall I am happy with the finished product (except for the tile work), but not sure the lower price was worth the stress and hassle of the service we received. read more

Pool Logic recently installed a new pool in our backyard and we would recommend them if you are thinking about a new pool. The staff at Pool Logic were all friendly and very helpful. During the installation we had a significant amount of rain one day and my entire back yard was flooded. I reached out to Pool Logic and let them know. Pedro quickly showed up with a pump to help drain the water out of my back yard. At that point the water was getting ready to flow into our house. It has been just over six months since our pool was completed and we are 100% satisfied with the design and look of our pool. Thank you Malkiel and the Pool Logic team!!! read more

The best quote you could get for an inground pool. Don't go looking anywhere else. I interviewed quite a few but pool logic stands out because of their price and location. You can't get that good of a deal here in Orange County. Plus staff are very courteous and with good communication skills. Jose and Pedro kept us updated all the time. Let me start by saying that the Pool logic team is Amazing. Malkiel and Jose and the entire team are very helpful, nice and easy to work with. I can not say enough good things about them. They showed up the first day designed my dream pool and did a on site quote with start date and finish date and they stick to it through out the entire project. They provided great input through out the project and built the pool exactly the way we wanted. They wanted to make sure we were happy through out the entire process and they were very responsive to our concerns. They showed up to my house everyday to work and the project progressed very I love the pool they created in my backyard. My wife and I signed a contract for Pool Logic to build our pool on March 29, 2019. The pool was finished on November 15th 2019. Everything we had asked for we received. Building a pool is a very complex project, with every 'bump in the road' Pool Logic was there to make sure all ended well. Roberto interacting with the city, and Adrian our project manager were on top of the project from start to finish. Prior to signing up with Pool Logic, we contacted 3 other pool contractors. Pool Logic provided the best 'bang for the buck'. In addition, tweaking our pool design was a very easy process with Pool Logic. We had 2 meetings with our sales agent, he sat us down in the Pool Logic office, and spend 3 hours with each visit changing the pool design program until we were happy with it. None of the other contractors we talked to did this, basically 'heres the design, take it or leave it'. Pool Logic performed an entire gut and rebuild of our backyard, pool, decking, turf and landscaping. We now have a beautiful backyard and pool.We would recommend Pool Logic to anyone. read more

I'll get into the nitty-gritty in a bit, but for those that don't like reading long-winded reviews, here in a nutshell is what stands out about Pool Logic. a) Customer service is their main priority. They communicate daily (don't fall off the face of the planet when 5PM hits) and address any concerns you have that same day. When it looks like a bomb went off in your backyard, anxieties can grow more rapidly than you think, so knowing you can get hold of somebody at any given time is pretty key. b) They (1) listened to what our vision was (2) have enough experience to tell us what was realistic and what wasn't and (3) for ideas that looked better on paper, they provided alternative suggestions - to help achieve what our minds foolishly thought was a slam dunk. c) Malkiel, Jose and Rudy truly are good people. Might sound hokey, but you'll be stuck with whatever builder you choose for several months coming in and out of your property, helping to manage a very large financial investment - so, working with an ethical, respectful company should be a priority. If you're looking for specific examples to support these statements...keep on reading ;)! I interviewed 6 pool builders at my home to understand scope, site constraints, etc. To be honest, this didn't go as smoothly with the Pool Logic individual that was sent out for the initial meeting. However, after I brought my concerns to Malkiel's attention, he didn't bullsh*t around or make excuses - he immediately took ownership of what was going on and personally came out to provide the level of service that he wants his company to provide. An owner actually taking responsibility of how his company does business - so refreshing!! How this was handled spoke volumes to me about how Pool Logic would handle curve balls that are inherent with construction projects...and they didn't disappoint. From a commercial standpoint, Pool Logic's pricing came in about average, and they even provided design suggestions that would make the build look more expensive without actually being more expensive. They're not your typical sales guys trying to get you to spend as much money as possible. I was straight up with them that the budget we had to work with was very limited and they respected that - never once tried to upsell and didn't use the fact that there was a huge hole in our backyard to milk us out of every cent. The warranty they provide is also better than any other company we talked to. Rudy, the Project Manager is super knowledgeable and didn't cut corners. He actually did the opposite to make sure the things that were important to us were taken care of. For example, pool equipment is by no means small, and I wanted to minimize the footprint as much as possible. Rudy thought outside the box and provided (not on my dime) a shelf unit to elevate some of the equipment to fit within the space I wanted it to. Another example: this build was a major project for our family and I wanted to memorialize it by having our handprints set in some of the new concrete deck. He rearranged the pour schedule (and worked later than I'm sure he wanted to) to accommodate work/school schedules - so that the concrete was just the right consistency for handprints. Did he have to do any of this?? Uh...nope, but he did since he knew it was important to us. Not to mention the professional manner in which he continually appeased some of the not-so-cooperative neighbors who worked to find things to complain about on the daily (queue eye roll). You can tell that these guys have a passion for what they do, and it reflects in the finished product as well as how they treat their clients from beginning to end. They created a 3d image and our backyard looks pretty much excactly like the picture they gave us. Jeff the owner is very easy to work with and gets back to you quick. First class service all the way. You definitely get what you are promised with Pool Logic. When me moved into our new home we needed to find a landscaper because it was a new build and needed to be completed. When we asked around we couldn't get a good recommendation from anyone. No one we spoke to loved their landscaper. We decided we would put some leg work into it and interviewed about 16 companies. We went and looked at all their work and were still not satisfied. Pool Logic was the last company we spoke with and finally the company we went with. The experience we had from beginning to end was hands down better than we could have expected. They really do strive to meet and exceed expectations. Even when it might not be the best decision for them as a company. Doing the right thing is a priority and they keep their word. An example of this was a deadline. Being our first year in the home we were excited to host Thanksgiving. With some weather delays we weren't going to make the deadline. When Malkiel heard this. He went out of his way to make sure it was met. We had their whole team here working until 9:00 at the night the evening before to make sure we could use our backyard for the event. It was all hands on deck no matter what the position in the company. This blew us away and allowed us to have our first Thanksgiving in our home the way we imagined. You don't hear stories like this when it comes to landscapers. But we really felt like a priority. Beyond doing what they say, the quality of work is great and they take pride in it. Let me start by stating that I am giving them a rating of 2 because of the experience not the finished product . The sub-contractors did a good job and we are satisfied with the end result. The pathway to the ending was unexplainable. Would I do this again...yes. Would I use Pool Logic...NO. Pool Logic is a young company that has to learn how to communicate and mange itself. As this being our first pool install I was relying on the expertise of Pool Logic to educate me and guide me through the decision process. This did not happen as we had to spend quite a bit of time at pool supply facilities to learn and uncover choices. Their initial design was good but lacked finishes that would showcase the pool and spa. Creativity is not a strong suit of theirs. We shifted the spa over a little, raised a portion of the decking behind the pool to provide elevation differences, added some flagstone to the decking. All these revisions were essentially an uphill battle. They may be good at building what is inside the hole but around the pool they need a seasoned veteran to guide them. If you want a basic hole in the ground surrounded by concrete where you can pour water...these are the guys. Any decorative or creative idea they frown upon. Pool Logic management does not communicate with the site crew nor amongst itself and really lost interest in the job once we signed the contract. Makiel did his best to try to ensure that the process went well but other managers were more of a hindrance than a help. They do not communicate, the management does not stay involved in the project and changes are, if ever, communicated to the job site crew. Several times we had to inform the crew that there was a change. Throughout the process I was amazed at their lack of concern about anything other than the hole in the yard. Some gross mistakes were made that if managed properly should have been identified and we should not have had to struggle to get these issues remedied. As a result we had to point these out or they would not have been corrected. * They poured colored concrete to match existing concrete which they had ripped out during demo. The color was so far off it should have been caught in the mixer. It took 3 days to get them to admit it was incorrect and another 2 days to correct. * They were going to pour concrete over an open active sprinkler line that would have been under the concrete. Had we not told them they never would have known. They destroyed every sprinkler line on our property and had no intentions to fix the ones that should not have been effected by the hole for the pool. * They would not drop sprinklers in before pouring concrete so that isolated planters could have irrigation. One week of discussion to get done. * They showed up to do the pebble tech with the incorrect color. The managers response was that the color they brought was a popular color and that we would like it. It was not what we had chosen some 3 or more weeks earlier and had provided them all the information, including where to get it, a standard pool supply company, nothing special. * They rehung a wrought iron railing section incorrectly. I, to this day do not understand how as the mounting bolts were already in the wall. The piece they replaced was hung 3 inches lower than all the rest of the fencing. This took over a week to get them to correct. * They rebuilt a stucco wall that that they had demolished during demo. The initial finished texture was no where near the attached wall it was to match. Again, a fight to get them to redo it. I know it was not difficult to do match as another contractor we had hired to do stucco to fill a removed window had patched his area so well you could not tell where the window was. The rebuilt wall you could see as not a match from 30 feet away. * The spillway from the spa to the pool did not flow correctly. After 3 days of trying to get them to fix it, I did. Too much work managing them. * The last 2 hours worth of work, literally 2 hours of work, they did not show up to complete for almost 2 weeks. When continually questioned as to when they would be finished their response was, "We are done, except for a few things". Well, then you are not done. After continually fighting with them to get the job done correctly, closing the job site on them twice, the job was finally completed. I still have to fix some things that have never worked...like the on/off switch for the spa. I am not going to ask them to fix it, I am afraid to. Would I put a pool in again? Yes. Would I use or recommend Pool Logic? No...not with the management team they have. Some of the subcontractors did fine quality work. The tile guys did an excellent job and the crew that did the pebble tech did an excellent job. Both were clean and did quality work. read more

Let me start by saying I have gone through the process of constructing a new home twice and during both projects the amount of contractors I have dealt with, probably totals over three dozen. Hence, I am very familiar with the standard nonsense that accompanies any type of major renovation or new build. My current home was finished two years ago and the original pool had multiple issues, which forced me to completely demo it and start fresh. Luckily, I found Pool Logic. Jose and Malkiel were amazing to deal with and they always conducted themselves in a professional and competent manner. The job ran as smooth as possible and the final result is tremendous. Further, this organization was very upfront with all of the costs and they never "nickel and dimed" me. As well, their workers were always courteous, on time and hard working, and these guys never pulled the typical "no show," that is truly infuriating. Last, but not least, Jose and Malkiel were always in contact with me, which was really refreshing and it definitely relieved the normal anxiety that comes with any large project. I highly recommend Pool Logic for anyone who is serious about installing a new pool. Oh, these guys also do patios and fireplaces and their work is as good as the work they do for pools.
