Wish I could give no stars. 8am I reached out to geico I needed assistance on the side of the 15. Pop a lock reached out to me saying 45 minutes and they would be to my vehicle. Not 5minutes later a man by the name of Andrew called me telling me the freeway is closed, mind you I am on the free way. He proceeds to tell me the reason for the traffic, I'm like cool. He says he'll try and get to me if not nevada dot will have to. I'm on the shoulder of the freeway, in need of gas. Should be no issue. He's texting me, he asks for a picture of where I am at. So when he finally tells me he's not on his way (pictures attached) I call his dispatch. I explain the situation to her she keeps repeating that the freeway is closed. I tell her I am on the freeway and can guarantee it is in fact NOT closed. She said that the driver added time to the call, I said I understand that but why isant he on the way already? She said he's on another call, I said but why did he say he was on his way and will try to get to me? I asked her if there was someone else I can speak to because she's not understanding my issue and shehung up on me. I called back it rang and rang and somehow I got to a woman in Texas, who said she messaged the driver and he said he would be there in an hour and a half. So I reach out to geico, the dispatch tells geico that the freeway is closed, I tell her that it is not closed and it was never closed. She says she can't do anything except tell me the time that the woman says. Mind you at this point it's been an hour and half of waiting in vein. Pop a lock never came to my aid, and had me waiting while another company could have helped me out. This company should be shut down, I hope none of their loved ones are ever left stranded on the highway waiting on someone who is never coming. Karma. read more

Used their service on 7/22. Ben came out and replaced my battery. 2 days later, my car wouldn't start. Left me stranded. Called and received a return phone call 2 hours later telling me to take my car into a Firestone Total Auto Care and that the battery is under warranty with them. Nice, huh? Gets better. Take it to Firestone on Stephanie and was told that it wouldn't start because whoever installed it, didn't connect the negative up tightly or correctly. Thanks Ben. read more

So I went to the car wash and locked my keys in the car dummy me, I called and the lady that awnsered was and older woman she said " what " not hello how may I help you or anything like that so I'm 6 months pregnant and I edited so long outside finally I went to the family dollar and the manger was so kind enough to take me there which was only 2 minutes away when I got there I saw the older lady who awnsered the phone she was bothered that I walked in she was on the phone and she was like said " let me call you back a person just walked in" and when she came out from behind the desk she was wearing the shirt shorts keep in mind she has to be at least mid 50s you could see a lot and she keep her conversation real short by saying things like "mhm" "yeah" I could believe that , she ended by saying well you better hurry back he is on his way At that point I just wanted to go home if you call don't speak to the older woman there she is so unprofessional read more

We had previously used Pop A Lock to re-key our house when we moved in, but more recently we wanted to switch out the deadbolts and have a keyed handle added to one door, so I gave them a call. Jim answered was able to come out the next day. He was great - I definitely recommend asking for Jim if you can request a tech! Fast & friendly service, plus he answered a bunch of my random home security questions and gave me some great tips to make my home even safer. read more

SERIOUS KUDOS to pop-a-lock for their complimentary services when I locked my baby in my car at a gas pump on my way through Las Vegas! I was beyond irritated with myself for locking EVERYTHING in my car in the first place, and they graciously unlocked it for me and said "this one's on us - we do our best to help people when there's a new baby involved". They said 45 minute when I called, ended up being just 5 minute Waite and in two minutes he used his pump and wire, and popped the lock. Good thing they're open 24 hours because it was around 12:30 a.m. They were so nice and helpful considering my situation the guy who popped my lock brought a smile to our faces for the sum price of 65$. read more

I locked my keys in my car tonight. At first, I tried to break into my own car with a metal hanger but after an hour of struggling and my rubber trim around my window all torn up, I gave up and called Pop a Lock. The operator got my name, address and phone number and told me someone would be there in 20 minutes. After 40 minutes passed, I called back wondering where they were. They had the technician call me and he asked where I was located. I gave him the cross streets and address again and it ended up he was somewhere not even close. He then told me he would be here in 15 min. After 35 min, I tried calling him back but he wouldn't answer. I called a few times but he never picked up the phone. I then called the operator back and she told me He cancelled the call because he couldn't locate the vehicle. I wonder why he never tried calling me back to see where exactly I was? So she then proceeded to get my address again and asked me cross streets and said she would have the technician call me. It's been 15 min so far and I'm still waiting! Almost 2 hrs of sitting on the curb by my car, I figured I should occupy my time and write a review!! So there it is... I wonder when they will get here? Had one of the locksmiths come out today to my house. I needed something done to keep my 3 year old in the house since he is opening the lock to the front door. The locksmith came and made a suggestion of some heavy duty chain locks and used extra long screws to secure the lock in place. I called for pop a lock to come to my house to make a key for my 79 bmw. Went thru the whole process of giving them my info and all that good stuff. They said they will have the lock smith contact me(which he did) he told me that he will be at my house within a hour and a half. 2 and half hours went by no phone call or anything, so I called the dispatcher she said they will message the lock smith to contact me. NOW three and half hours went by and I called again, the second dispatcher said the lock smith updated his information saying I cancelled(which I never did) I never received a call from him or the dispatcher. Two days gone by and I have heard nothing, so I called again, I asked for a supervisor and was told I will have one contact me, it will be almost 24hrs after I called asking for a supervisor! I would really like to know what type of company this is and who is running it. I will never again try using this company after I get to the bottom of why my service was cancelled. I will not recommended this company for any of my friend and family members to use, matter of fact I will degrade it and will tell people to run away from them because all they have done is cost me money for taking time from my work waiting on them to never show up. DO NOT USE POP A LOCK! they should be called pop a seat because all you will be doing is waiting for nothing! read more

My insurance just sent this company to help me with a flat tire. When the employee called my phone he started by complaining that he had already called before and I didn't pick it up. I told him I am stuck in the middle of a 10 level parking garage and the reception here was bad. So he proceeded by telling me to meet him downstairs because security wouldn't let him come in the building. So, I asked if I had to drive the car down and meet him at street level, I was confused. The guy rudely talked down at me by saying "how would you drive your car with a flat if I haven't fixed your tire yet?" So I told him I was asking questions to clarify what was I supposed to do and that I didn't appreciate his tone. The minute I said it, he told me that he was going to go ahead and cancel the service since he couldn't serve me the way I wanted. I was perplexed! There is a way to talk to people, specially if you are in the service industry. This guy definitely knows nothing about customer service and about being cordial to people. So here I am waiting for another roadside assistance to come. read more

I searched yelp yesterday and saw they had a 5-star rating so I called them immediately cause I had locked my keys in my bedroom. The tech came out within 20 min and tried and couldn't get it to open. So finally he forced it open and caused my door to break along the side. The plate and screws came off and he re-screwed the plate back and now the screws are sideways and looks so ugly as the original thread is gone from the broken wood. The wood is not fixable and can only be replaced by a new door. So now i gotta buy a new door and its gonna cost me more than I intended to spend. The tech offered me a $10 discount If I didn't report it. But I told him I had to report it so he charged me full price of $84. I immediately called their office to report it and they said a manager would call me right back. To this day they still haven't called me. I will be giving my complaint to the BBB today. The worse ever experience I had with these people : I got a flat on New Year's Eve , my insurance company texted me that Pop A lock will be taking care of my road side assistance. Well , I got a text from them giving me a 55-75 minute wait. I called them ( 1 am New Year's Eve ) to let them know I'm stuck on a very busy road & I'm not safe sitting in my car & I asked them if they know how much longer do I have to wait . After waiting for half hour , the nasty girl on the other side of the phone just cancelled my order ... so now I have to go back on my app to my insurance company and redo my order for a road side assistance!! Make this story short : they send someone after 3 or so hours , and it took him 3 minutes to change my flat to a spare. Happy hew years & don't ever use this company if you can help it !! I do not usually take the time to write these reviews, but I found myself in need of a lock specialist to duplicate my key fob for my car. Popalock seemed to be the only outfit around that did this so I of course called them. I read many of the reviews here and started to get nervous about them. HOGWASH!! THIS OUTFIT IS 100% first class all the way. They scheduled me as soon as i called and the technician called me back in 15 mins. Said he could be at my house in 45 mins if that was ok. I said sure. He actually came after about 25 minutes, did exactly what I needed and for a far more reasonable price than I have experienced before. All that in 10 mins or less and left with a smile. Having a flat tire while you're on your way to work is frustrating as is. Insurance company dispatched Pop-A-Lock, and they arrived in about half an hour, which was amazing considering the ETA was about an hour. Dale was the technician for my vehicle. My battery, that was purchased through Pop-A-Lock, had died on a Saturday. The tech, Shane, provided incorrect ETA and was very late. He tried to sell me a new battery and then didn't actually jump start the battery. Gave me his supervisor's number and said he would probably send someone else out to replace the batter. His supervisor, Austin, told me I had to go through Interstate Batteries for warranty issues and they are only open M-F. He told me to take the battery out of my car and drive it over to their store on Mon. I called customer service and they were misogynistic and rude and Sean, Dispatch Manager, hung up on me. Izaac, City Manager, called me and was very nice but made a ton of excuses about the way his people treated me. He said they get frustrated because the battery company is difficult and they get blamed. He also said that he is the only one who can approve replacing the battery and he was off. I appreciate that he needs vacation time, but there should be a policy in place that ensures customers are actually receiving quality service when he is not available. The best part is that I had a different company come out the next day and they were able to jump start the battery within seconds. read more

I received extremely poor service from this company, also they were overpriced. Unfortunately I lost my car keys and I was referred here by a friend I purchased a new key fob off of Amazon and I was quoted 180 dollars to cut and program the key to my car. The technician arrived and spent about an hour cutting and attempting to program the key the technician stated that he was unable to program the key due to the car not working with his two systems he made it seem like it was so nearly impossible to program the key fob due to the car needing a particular system to program the key I was advised to get the car towed to the dealership so that they would be able to program it correctly. I was charged 120 dollars for him to cut the key that I had already purchased on my own. I then called another locksmith and when he arrived he instantly noticed that the battery in the key fob was dead and hadn't been charged. He said the technician wouldn't even be able to program the key fob without charging it which he clearly didn't even check the batteries in the key fob to begin with. The other locksmith got my car started in 12 minutes and I am now out of 120 dollars due to the technician not performing his due diligence to ensure the job was done accurately. He made it seem as if the car just wouldn't program and he had never worked on this particular type of car and all along he literally never checked the batteries or charged the key fob, I bought a brand new key out of the box I guess I was supposed to charge it and check the batteries myself I paid 120 dollars for him to cut a key and provide extremely poor service. read more

When called we were given a quote of $35 . Once the person came the price went up drastically to $80 . Unacceptable . He showed up on a black SUV, not represented nor trustworthy . Super late..."he got lost" . He probably didn't have GPS? Lol . Then when we of course said no ! He called again saying $60 . Which of course we said no again ! Then he said he had to charge service charge . Ummm I don't think so . I locked myself out of my house not long ago, it was about 110 outside, and of course my car/house keys were all inside, but I had my phone, so I pulled up yelp, and called one place that couldn't give me an exact price,so I found pop a lock and not sure if they were higher or lower than others, I just wanted my keys and they gave me an exact quote. Only took them about 15 minutes to get to me, even though they quoted 40, and the guy was very nice and got the door opened in seconds! One thing that kinda freaked me out, and reason for only 4 stars, he didn't ask for ID or proof I lived there until after letting my son inside, even though I had my purse with ID etc outside with me. He was there faster than the ETA and all together including wait time was 20 minutes! I really thought i would be there about and hour or so. I apologize for ever making fun of people who accidentally lock their keys in their car. This is what I did (specifically, in my trunk) and this is why I called these guys. Thankfully, my brand new 2014 Toyota Corolla had complimentary roadside assistance (which I didn't know until this happened). I called them up and they sent me a text saying these guys would come in about 30 minutes. The woman I talked to from roadside assistance reassured me by saying that they can open my car door without damaging the locks or the door. It took them about 45 minutes to arrive. I think the guy got lost. But it didn't matter to me since he opened my car door literally within seconds. I tested my locks afterwards and they weren't broken. I forgot his name (I'm a jerk), but he was a personable guy who explained to me how he got it open. I didn't have to pay a penny since it was covered by Toyota roadside assistance, but I did tip him what little cash I had on me (just $2; hey, I'm a starving student). He graciously accepted and didn't seem irked or insulted that I was only tipping him such a small amount. I guess he figured out that I was a poor college student since I was at my school's parking lot. This technician was friendly, courteous, and knew what he was doing. If he is an example of the kind of people that Pop-A-Lock employs, then I will definitely use their services in the future even if I have to pay out-of-pocket. Don't get me wrong, though. I do hope that I don't repeat this mistake. read more

Sometimes you learn about a company and its employees way past the time you actually buy something from them--and that's what happened to me with Pop-A-Lock. Joseph came to my house and changed my battery in July of 2018, and it was a very pleasant experience. Everything appeared to be normal until five days ago, January 7, 2020, when the car had to be towed to my dealer because the gearshift was stuck in Park. After I had it towed to my dealership, they inspected the gearshift and found that acid had leaked out of the battery and corroded the shifter cable. Some other components surrounding the battery were damaged as well, so I knew this was going to be a big, big problem. I called Joseph to tell him what happened--mind you, this was 18 months after the sale--and he immediately got on the phone with his insurance company to try to get a resolution to the situation as quickly as possible. He called me later that day, and said that the insurance people were giving him the runaround, directing him to different departments, and basically creating a huge hassle from the get-go. Knowing what a gigantic headache this was going to be for him and for me as well, Joseph did something that's very rare these days in the world of business: He told me Pop-A-Lock was going to bypass the insurance company nonsense, and they were going pay for the damages to my car out of their own pocket--an amount that was IN EXCESS OF $1000. So here's a company that stood up for its customer when it would have been a lot easier (and a lot less costly) to leave me twisting in the wind, trying on my own to get an insurance company to reimburse me for the repairs. It's easy to be cynical about the people we all do business with, because we tend to think that they're out to "take" us, or forget about us when trouble arises. But I truly can't say enough about Joseph and the other folks at Pop-A-Lock, who stepped up and stood up for a customer who needed help. Needless to say, I'll be a lifelong customer of theirs if and when I need their services again. read more

Purchased a battery from them 20 months ago, tech was awesome and courteous and explained that is a 60 month battery, needless to say 20 months later battery failed, called them up for warranty and was told I have to go to Ted Weins for warranty. It wasn't very convenient and got the run around, I finally got a replacement battery and was charged for installation. Ted Weins explained they have nothing to do with Pop a lock and they just do warranty work for them. I'll never purchase another battery from them. read more

Not sure if this is the correct location because I called a 'Call Center'. The dispatcher was friendly, listened and asked me the right questions. She had Marcus the locksmith call me back and he was awesome. He answered all my questions, made an appointment with me, arrived on time (all the while keeping in contact) AND he fixed my menacing car door which has been broken for 2 weeks, in just 2 mins!!! Super affordable and worth it. I'd def recommend Pop A Lock to anyone I know. read more
