They were busy, really busy, and I'm unsure if that's a typical Friday night thing or if Lent was causing more business, but I think I'm late to the party as this was my first time ordering from them. I ordered via their website which was basic but easy to use, going for the Two Combo, selecting the 4 Jumbo shrimp and catfish nuggets with fries and an extra side of fried okra. The web said my order would be ready in 15, but it was more like 25. They were jumping, but they were getting orders out pretty quick. Let me tell ya, there was a LOT of food. Pops is my go to location for chicken. They have some of the best chicken I have ever tasted. Whenever I'm going to an event and need to bring food for the family my first thought is to go to Pops and get chicken. The prices are pretty decent. We had Pop's fried chicken, fries and hushpuppies. The plain batter reminds me of Cane's, which is pretty flavorless, but the strips are 3-4 times the size of canes. My husband had the sweet and spicey and son had the buffalo hot chicken. They chicken was all nice and tender. They were much more flavorful and my son ranks it the best in St Louis. The fries and hushpuppies were delicious. I was disappointed that the soda was canned, but they have a nice variety of unique flavors. They have some great things to choose from. My favorite is the chicken and shrimp potato bowl (minus the onions & peppers.) My second favorite on the menu is the buffalo chicken sandwich. So fresh I had to add for extra seasoning the second time. We've been frequenting their new location in Maryland Heights. I didn't like their pizza puff but my guy said it was really good.
