I love this thai place, i have had the drunken noodles and pad thai with chicken. Both had big portions and were very filling. It reminded me of when i went to Thailand. The service is very on point. The prices are a little pricey, but that isn't unusual for thai food as you are paying for what you get. I also have had the mamasan curry which i enjoyed. It might not look like much on the outside but the food here is authentic and freaking delicious! We came here for lunch as one of our other haunts was closed that day. My wife had the lunch special which included the soup/pot sticker/salad appetizer (which was a meal in itself...glad she shared) and I had the Thai Basil with shrimp. Food was hot, tasty, and honestly, the aroma hit us before they even put the plates down...a sure sign of fresh ingredients! Came here for an evening meal on a weeknight. The place was not too crowded, maybe about 4 other tables with customers. Over all the food was decent and the service was acceptable. Tried their roti curry with bread as a starter. Nice to have a lot of the bread, but we received very little dipping sauce. Had the panang curry with chicken for an entree. Inside the restaurant the temperature was very warm and it made dining there a bit uncomfortable. Overall I like this place, but it was pretty average. Would consider take out if on my way past this place. read more

First time trying Pop Thai and I'm so impressed! I got the Tom Kha, Jalapeño PopTails, and Pad See Ew. The tom kha is creamy coconutty umami deliciousness. I could have that all day every day. Lots of chicken and mushrooms. The poptails were an impulse order but boyyyy am I glad I got them. So flavorful and delicious. Absolutely bangin'. I wish I had 100 more. Nuff said there. We came for a visit for a Friday evening. The restaurant was completely empty and it was only 8pm. Our waitress arrives with the menu. I asked a few questions on some of the menu items. Her answer, "I've never tried any of the curry sauces on the menu." So, instead of taking recommendations we decided on some of the dishes we enjoyed from other restaurants. We ordered the calamari with plum sauce. The calamari was cooked perfect and the breading was soft. I loved the plum sauce! We tried their version of Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup). Not bad but would of loved more cilantro, lime and lemon grass. The soup was mainly doused with coconut milk and lacking other elements. What we wanted most was to enjoy a quiet evening and that's exactly what we received! Service was great but they really need to upgrade their sauce game to compete with the other surrounding Asian restaurants in the Mills area. read more

Pop Thai is a great restaurant, I give it 5 stars! I love it when restaurants actually put some effort into the presentation of the food along with tasting amazing! The restaurant is very trendy looking inside you wouldn't expect this from the outside. When searching the menu there are a lot of options to choose. Service is always excellent every time I visit and always on top of refilling my water or making sure I have everything I need. Everything veggie or curry is great here, you can't go wrong with these dishes here (portions are large for the price too). The chicken with thai chili jam is really good, it comes with assorted vegetables. I've tried the pad thai (not my favorite here but good), the egg rolls (I'd say OK). Any of the dishes that come with rice are shaped in a heart, which was really a nice surprise! They also put a carrot in the shape of a flower on the entrees. I love this new spot! We parked right in front along the street around 7pm and it wasn't busy at all which had me a bit worried. The inside is a nice ambiance of a somewhat modern look. Sat at a booth and looked at the large menu. Everything sounded great so it was hard to choose. I had the white fish and shrimp with a side of white rice. As we waited we had a sake and I noticed they had their fan right above us on full blast. Since we were the only ones there, I asked if they could turn it off and they were happy to. Super appreciative of that! The food was great! The fish was lightly fried and even though it was sitting on a bed of sauce it didn't sog up at all. I really enjoyed it mostly because I wasn't expecting the awesome light crisp. Shrimp was also great. Now, the company I had that night sucked but that's another review on another site! read more

I was lucky enough to get a server name Nina that actually knew my friend and she actually said I was sitting at the same table Cindy dines at on a daily basis. I decided to get my regular Thai meal which is pad Thai chicken and I got it medium. It was absolutely perfection and the service I received was five star. I actually like the food here, but what I don't like is the service. Before ordering a poke Don, i asked if any shellfish items were a part of the "assorted fish" mentioned on the menu because I'm allergic. The waitress confirmed that there was not any shrimp or other shellfish products, that the sushi in the bowl would just be fish (tuna, salmon, or white fish). The bowl came out and there was shrimp on top. The waitress was nice enough and asked if I would like it to be remade or if I wanted them to just take it off. I asked for a new one because I have a shellfish allergy. She brought it back to the sushi counter where the shrimp was simply just taken off and the bowl was brought back and the fact that i told them that I was allergic was ignored. I also asked for spicy mayo that I never received, but that's not really an issue...it just added insult to injury. I like the food but did not appreciate the lack of concern over an allergy concern that was stated before ordering. If you have some sort of food allergy, you may want to reconsider eating here. Also, my partner and I ordered Poke Don bowls, not tekka Don bowls but were charged for tekka don bowls. There's about a $10-11 difference between the two...soooo, they didn't give us what we actually ordered and charged us for the higher priced item and the menu did not properly list what was in either item. This made me mad, as I was overcharged for food I couldn't eat. read more

This little restaurant in what used to be called Colonial Town and is now called little Vietnam is a very nicely decorated restaurant. We had a very sweet, very helpful waitress. We placed a last minute to go order that she ran back to the kitchen prior to the kitchen closing for lunch. She was truly adorable and very attentive to our needs and requests. We had the green curry and requested it hot. We also ordered seafood rice, also hot. The curry was delicious and we enjoyed it so very much. The seafood rice was so good we ordered one to take home. We also ordered Thai hot Tom Ka soup which was very nice the next day when I heated it up. The pot stickers were vegetarian and were nice. If you like Thai food, and are in Orlando this place gets my vote. The food was so good we ordered more to eat for dinner, too. I also think this is a great date restaurant! read more

This restaurant is located where the Yum-Mi used to be, on Mills. I came here with a friend after hearing that it was their Grand Opening (August 22nd) and because I very curious to see how the food would be, being a fan of Yum-Mi sandwiches. Let me first start by saying the place looks great. They did a good job with the renovations. My friend and I went on the grand opening day which was a Saturday and funny enough there was not a long wait. They had a few specials since it was the grand opening day, 2 for 1 beers and other specials. I ordered the chicken pad Thai because you know you have to try this dish when you go to a Thai restaurant. I am not too big on super spicy/hot food so I ordered mine medium. The food was delicious, not too spicy. My friend ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and she also said it was very good. Needless to say we both finished our plates. The service was great too. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us throughout our dinner. When we were ready to leave, the manager/ came to our table to ask about our dining experience which I thought was pretty neat. If you like are in the Mills/50 area I urge you to try this place. This was not up to snuff. I'll call it a 7 out of 10 on the scale. And maybe that's ok, because I tasted all of the flavors in the dish and it was delicious. 4 Stars to a new option in Mills 50 that feels spacious and serves a mean Mussaman Curry (their spelling, not mine)! Having been a fan of Yum-mi, I was really hoping the new Thai concept in their old space would do the location justice. It's set in the heart of Mills 50 and thus has a lot of great competition. Walking in I was struck by the renovations. Gone was the counter and fast-food look of Yum-mi and in its place is a very open space with a clean palate that is really unexpected from the outside. It's not as hip as its neighbor, Propagation, but then who the heck is? The server came by and took our orders when the owner came by to drop off a complimentary order of pot stickers as they have only recently opened. This was such a nice surprise as a little opener to our meal! I'll start by saying I wasn't super impressed by the appetizers. But bare with me- it gets better! As starters we ordered their equivalent of a crab rangoon- except with shrimp. The fried wontons were really tasty (who doesn't love fried dough filled with cream cheese?!) but I did notice that there was no discernible shrimp in them. I'm not sure if the cream cheese is flavored by shrimp, but it was all a creamy texture so I was a bit confused. Either way it was a treat! We also ordered the papaya salad. The salad itself wasn't our favorite we've had. The portion was absolutely enormous and the sauce was a bit too strong and almost fishy for my taste. Our main dishes were the stars of the show though. The Mussaman Curry had a slight kick to it but also had a really special floral note that elevated the dish to another level. It really was delicious and the sauce was very creamy. I'll also note that the presentation of this dish was outstanding. It was served in a wide brimmed bowl and looked straight out of a high end restaurant. I also ordered the Pad Thai (so cliche, but a good barometer for me). Again, I was impressed not only with the flavor, which was far above the typical almost-prepackaged-tasting Pad Thai, but the noodles were perfectly cooked and the chicken was tender. For what can often be a pretty basic and unimpressive dish this one left an impression! Finally, I loved that the owner came by at the end of the meal to ask us how everything went. She also told us that they recently opened and were really interested in feedback and making sure locals like the restaurant. An enthusiasm for locals along with an openness to feedback leads me to think Pop Thai has a real shot at holding its own against the growing food scene in the area! read more

This is a nicely decorated space with very friendly service. The food is serviceable Thai. We tried a couple of lunch dishes and an appetizer, and although there were no standouts, everything was fine. My favorite items were actually the soup and salad that came with the lunch. It was a particularly flavorful version of chicken rice soup, and the salad dressing had a nice mix of peanut and a minty flavor that elevated it above the usual peanut sauce. I wasn't a fan of one herb used in the potstickers and spring rolls. It was a flavor not usually encountered in these. I enjoyed the crispy duck and shrimp lunch special, although the duck was far from crispy. The cocoanut tinged curry was nice. Fresh Hot Basil was inexplicably missing any basil flavor or leaves; in fact, there was more basil in the duck dish. If you're in the area and tired of Vietnamese food and tacos, this is a fine choice for a meal, even if it's not the best Thai in town. read more

Pop Thai is one of my favorite go-to take out Thai places in Orlando. Just like Chic-fil-A, you crave them the most in Tuesday's when they're closed. Joking aside, pop Thai also has dine in specials for a pretty reasonable price. They have big portions and the take out is always hot! I always get a side of the peanut sauce and smother that on basically my whole meal. The peanut sauce is pretty delicious and if you haven't tried it, add it to the pad thai! I usually get the chicken pad Thai mild but for the brave the Thai hot is very spicy but still edible. Lol. I have ordered to go dozens of times and the staff is always to prompt and friendly. We visited here because, well because we try to visit every Thai restaurant in Orlando! We were seated quickly, it has a nice ambiance, especially if you like the room to be on the dark side. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was okay. I know 3 stars means A-OK, but this was just okay. My wife ordered the duck, and she was a huge fan. So I split the difference here and gave 3 stars. I just didn't like the flavor of the food. I ordered it Thai hot and it came back very mild. I know many people will return it when it's too hot, but I like what I like. It's weird, but part of me always feels insulted when they bring back mild Thai food. Anyhow, this is probably a decent spot if you like your Thai weak. Came here for a late lunch with my mom. The service was pretty good considering the staff was one server for the entire restaurant. The food was good not great. The pricing was a little high for what it was and I think that is my biggest concern. The roti we ordered was 9$ when we got the bill.. we didn't see it on the menu but I knew they had it... I think for a piece of flatbread and small sauce is WAY over priced. The meals were 10$ a piece and it was for thai very small portions.. tasty but tiny... it's rice and mostly vegetables..... it does not cost that much to make especially with one server ... I am Thai and My mother is a Thai chef. I am very particular with my Thai food. If my review seems too harsh that's because I'm very picky... to others it may seem wonderful and taste awesome. First of all, the food presentation is eye catching and beautiful. I really liked the mango sticky rice, it has the real taste also had a nice touch of adding the pandan flavor in the sticky rice which makes it a little green. Pad Thai is mediocre and the crispy duck pannaag curry is amazing!! Would recommend getting that! We got the Tom yum also but that tasted a little weird (old taste). The one picture poster by the owner was the reason why I wanted to go. It had the picture of "kanom tuay", for all the Thai people trying to order this... it doesn't exist in the menu!! A solid 4 stars for a great Thai restaurant in the Mills District. I grabbed a quick bite at Pop Thai, located on Mills near the Virginia Drive intersection, a few months ago while picking up food for my sick wife. Since the food was so good, I decided to bring my wife here one recent sunny afternoon so that we could partake in the full dining experience. Upon walking inside, my wife and I were immediately seated at a booth. The first thing that caught both our eyes when we sat down was the digital fireplace on display in the bar area. That combined with the clean and updated interior creates a space that is fun while also feeling slightly upscale. While there were some fun specials listed on the table top sign, we decided to give a look at the menu and see what they had. Since I already planned on getting some King Bao afterwards, I decided to give the Appetizer Trey a try while my wife ordered a duck and curry dish. After a few minutes, our food came out, and boy did it look and taste good. While you can read my wife's review on the duck, I will tell you that the appetizer trey is a great item to order. It comes with coconut shrimp, chicken skewers, and pot stickers, as well as some plum and peanut sauces. This dish was just enough food to make for a good small meal, and the sauces combined with each appetizer in various fashions to make for a variety of tasty treats. Throw in a curry or some other small appetizer and you'll be set for the night. Overall, Pop Thai is a solid Thai place with a clean and interesting interior and tasty food. While you can find plenty of solid Thai options in the Mills District, Pop Thai is one of the options that is definitely worth considering. read more

Ordered an appetizer of the Firecracker Shrimp, they are pretty tasty overall but the shrimp quality was poor, most likely wouldn't get again.
