We were seated at a table in far end of the room. Once seated it's hard to get in and out from the wall seat because the table are pretty close together. I ordered the Spinach, Mushroom and Swiss 4 Egg Omelet. They asked me if I wanted 2 or 4 eggs and I chose 4. As a substitute for the potatoes, I opted to choose the avocado which came as a slice 1/2 of avocado. For my toast option, I chose the single pancake, but could also have chosen a scone. The scone wasn't on the menu as a option, so I missed this when I ordered. My omelet was very flavorful, although a bit dense. I attributed that to the 4 eggs fitting into a 2 egg form factor, but I really don't know that for sure. The avocado was a good complement to the omelet and worked out very well. The pancake was delicious. There was syrup on the table and butter came on the plate. I gobbled it right down and thought that I maybe should have got another one. I have eaten here before when I was in the area, and will likely return again when up here. The busy nature of the restaurant is offset by the good quality food.

They have quite a large patio area with additional seating that would make this really appealing in nice weather. Like any cafe they offer a range of coffee drinks as well as ice cream. But there's a full menu with sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads and some special entrees. Also to our surprise they offer beer and wine too. I tried the Korean BBQ Beef Rice Bowl that was one of their special entrees today. It was a filling entree and quite flavorful. Since it was cold outside I also enjoyed a cup of their Rough Rider coffee and our server was quick to refill my cup. Included with your meal is a choice of one of three homemade cookies. I selected a snickerdoodle because who doesn't love a snickerdoodle.

I'm also not a fan of being preached too when I go to a restaurant. There were signs everywhere for making people aware of a political party. I think a restaurant main focus should be their food and it should be at place. I should be able to go to without knowing what political beliefs the owners have. It was fun that the meal came with a little cookie.

We walked in at about 9:40 pm. The kitche closes at 10. We wouldn't have been surprised to be turned away, but the wonderful woman covering the bar and kitchen, forties, glasses, dark hair, was very friendly and gracious. She also took excellent care of us, despite really having to hustle. I had the pulled pork tacos and my wife had the teriyaki wings. The tacos(I ordered two)were stuffed with pulled pork that was very tasty, and came with crema, a sweet relish salsa, and cheese(a slight upcharge). My tacos came with tortilla chips that were crispy and well salted. My wife liked her wings. If we're passing through again, we would definitely stay in Evanston and have a meal at Lincoln Highway Tavern.

The shop is about an hour and a half away from where I live. So I called ahead because I wanted to make sure there would still be cheesecakes available to buy. The girl that helped me on the phone was super sweet and guaranteed that my cheesecakes would be ready and available upon my arrival. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and I was immediately drawn to the glowing lights with beautiful baked goods! I ordered a peanut butter cheesecake, a raspberry New York cheesecake, a caramel cashew cheesecake, and a cookie dough cheesecake. This cheesecake is super smooth and "coat the top of your mouth" thick. Next time I go to Taggart's I want to try their food menu as well - everything looked incredible!!

Call up to 30 minutes in advance of arrival to be put on the waitlist. Our server was sweet and helpful and quick to bring out our food, which was great since we were all starving from our earlier rafting trip down the Weber River. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my bestie who in turn shared her mushroom Swiss burger with me. The fish and chips and chips had four average size pieces of battered halibut with some batter coated fries. The uniformed size and shape leads me to believe they are frozen. Nevertheless they still had a good flavor. For the side that comes with the meal, I chose the Parmesan and artichoke soup. It was tasty but would have been better if it was hotter. The burger was perfectly cooked and came with our side choice of onion rings our friend had gotten the Cobb salad sandwich which came on pita bread. I didn't try it but she said the white meat chicken was moist and had a good flavor but was a little too big for her (not a bad problem in my opinion) They have a beautiful desert cake and seem to specialize in mini individual cheesecakes in a wide variety of flavor options. We went with the keylime and peanut butter. The keylime was ok but in my opinion not tart enough and the very vibrant green color implies to me that the key lime flavor is artificial. The peanut butter cheesecake though was definitely a hit.

Gas prices are cheap, and I understand it's not "as great as Chevron with Techron" but I've been getting gas here all my life and my car has never broken down on me. So until that happens, I'll just keep coming. I'm very loyal to my Maverik treats, however. And will go to my grave saying they have the best road trip snacks. Cookies with an entire Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, hot cocoa, constant deals on candy bars and drinks--the occasional Cinnabon or Krispy Kreme. I promise you, whether you're craving something salty, sweet, chocolately, or sour, you'll leave a few dollars lighter and a few pounds heavier (hey, just live a little). This is a great pit stop as well, the bathrooms are always clean and smell nice. Plus they're more than a one-holer, and that in itself is a hole-in-one for me. TIPS & TRICKS: * Grab yourself a Maverik Card to save some money on gas. * If you're looking for a movie, there is a Redbox on site too!
