A good customer service attitude and spirit was not present. Around 12;30 p m an employee locked the main entry door, locking me and one other customer inside, ( only 2 of us customers dining in at lunch !!! ) Wonder why so few ? Employees continued to work the drive thru. Several walk in potential customers, banged on the glass door and attempted to enter but drove way due to being locked out !!! . Whoever the sweet lady was working here today at 2:50 on 11/12 deserves a raise. My husband and I came in the drive thru to get lunch for our kids and they were out of mac and cheese and she was quick to substitute us and offer us a drink for the wait. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. First off, my wife and I decide to stop in for a quick dine in bite to eat. The establishment was not busy. The wifey walked up to order and they told her to hold on. We ordered 2 of the chicken sandwich combos. It was almost 18 bucks for those. Took like ten minutes to get our food. When we sat down and opened it up, mine was cold and hers was fresh. All the employees were standing behind the counter cussing and carrying on. The pregnant chick had the worst mouth. They screwed up somebody's order in the drive thru and when the customer pulled back around, I heard one of the employee women say "what the fuck do she want". They served my friend and myself right away. They told us there would be a slight wait on food. So fresh food for us, plus we really didn't care. They were very courteous and genuine towards us. First time going to the Atlanta Hwy location and I can honestly say, it will be my last. Ordered a large order take out and my order was all messed up. We didn't get our three peppers even though we paid, we were short a biscuit, the large fry was insufficient and cold, the corn on the cob tasted like it was cooked three days ago and reheated. Basically I got a big bag of bad food. To top it off, the drive thru cashier was not very friendly. The establishment is fairly new so this is inexcusable and management must step it up. This restaurant is a new construction in Athens. Before its opening we had to travel to the Prince street location. Overall I am pleased by this new addition. The bathroom, at least the mens, is a one person at a time situation. This is apparently a poor design, as there is ample room for a second stall and baby diaper changing station. The dining area was clean, and well maintained. The health inspection is new and rated at 95 (A). This is about 15 points higher than the Prince Location. Hot wings were advertised on the day of my visit, but we're not available to order. It is a pet piece of mine when restaurants advertise with the old "bait and switch" ploy. First of all, I compare an apple to itself; not to another apple or to an orange or an orangutan. That being said, Popeyes is an above average fast food chain. What it lacks in speed (drive thru), it makes up for in freshness. Cooked to order. It always tastes the same. It's always hot and seasoned. This is the most important thing at fast food IMO. The shrimp combo is a bit pricy at just over 8$, but I couldn't eat it all. It had a true Louisiana snap to the batter, that left me satisfied. The biscuit was a revelation; a buttery flaky delight. The tea is always VERY sweet, but drinkable. This is crucial in the summer South. read more

I am writing to complain about the manager of the 3160 atlanta highway, 30606 location on shift on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at around noon. I have been going to this store for more than 5 years, usually on Sundays, and have never had any issues. There is a manager that is usually on Sundays and that has been there for several years and he is nice and professional and knows my order. More recently, I have been seeing this other manager which was working on the shift mentioned. I have a child with special needs who really likes Popeyes but has a specific order. I place that order pretty much every weekend and it is fulfilled without any issues. Sometimes there may be a little wait, but all good. It is worth mentioning that this time I went to the store on a Saturday and not Sunday. When I placed my usual order, the person in the drive thru told me that they currently did not have the piece options I wanted so I was talking to her politely to see what pieces of chicken could be provided to avoid a long wait. While I was talking to her cordially, the store manager came to yell at me over the speaker and said that there was an automatic 15 minutes wait for my order. I told him I have never been told about an automatic 15 minute wait and was trying to ask him what combination of pieces could be provided without having such wait. He continued to yell and then told me to get out of "his" drive thru. He said he had no chicken, which was false, as I could see it behind him. He simply did not want to do his job and serve a customer. He refused to serve me arbitrarily, even though he could see I was ordering for my child. I would like to point out that this is discriminatory since I am a minority and he is refusing to serve a child with special needs out of pure arrogance. As I said, I have been going to this store for 10 years without any issues and have a cordial relationship with the manager they have had for several years. I also go to drive thrus, do mobile orders, and eat at restaurants pretty much every day and I had never had someone act this way, not to mention while representing a reputable franchise which you would think trains store managers appropriately so that they act professionally and in line with the values and procedures of such brand so that the relationship is beneficial for both, the customer and the firm. I tried to get his name to place a complaint and he refused to provide it, which is another red flag since that goes against the guidelines of any respectable franchise. A manager that is confident they are acting appropriately would not deny to provide his name if a customer wants to escalate a complain. I hope the owners and Popeyes as a brand talk to this person and assess whether it's in their best interest to have their brand represented by someone who gratuitously yells at customers and refuses to serve them and a child with special needs out of pure arrogance. I hope they talk to the employees who were present, hoping that they are not scared of this aggressive person (which would not surprise me) and they are asked whether they think his behavior was justified, professional and beneficial for their business. I know there are labor challenges in the service sector and I am sympathetic and patient with them. However, this does not justify a store manager yelling at people, telling them to get out of "his" line and refusing to serve out of pure arrogance. read more
