Well, ya know... it's Popeyes. Nothing special to see here, but I do want to comment on my delivery experiences with this Berkeley location. I've never been to their physical location, but my staff and I have ordered from here for delivery on a few different occasions and we've generally had a good experience. I'm not too big on fast food, but sometimes you just get them cravings. And when we're short staffed at work, delivery comes in handy when we're stuck in the office. The food is what you'd expect from your typical Popeye's location. For the most part, it usually arrives warm and they don't skimp out on the portions for to-go. Sometimes they don't provide enough sauces but that's small change considering other things that could go wrong. What I also like about ordering from this location is that they often participate in the promotions that are on their app. They usually have delivery promotions where you can get free items, drinks, or even another free meal. I can always stand to save a few bucks, so these deals come in handy (especially when ordering for multiple people). Unlike most people, my favorite item to get from Popeye's is their popcorn shrimp. Don't ask me why, but I just love the seasoning and the way that they fry their shrimp. Most of the time, I will order their popcorn shrimp either by itself or in a chicken combo. But, I do love their chicken as well. In my opinion, Popeye's is the top tier model when it comes to fast food fried chicken. Again, I can't comment on the service from their physical location. From reading through some of their latest reviews, it doesn't seem to be the greatest. But when it comes to delivery, they've served my staff and I well. read more

It is unbelievable what horrible food this place puts out! I had the misfortune of ordering a three-piece meal, which include a biscuit and one side. As I opened the box, I saw the three pieces of chicken, glistening with foul-smelling grease and knew then and there that the possibility of a gastrointestinal disaster lay before me. With great trepidation, I reached into the grease splattered box and carefully removed whatever once-living thing had the misfortune of ending up in a deep fryer. The biscuit was discovered to be inedible, with a taste I can only describe as "like Styrofoam." The mashed potatoes and gravy were of notable lack of quality, with a synthetic taste. I hoped and prayed that, since my last unpleasant experience last year, that there had been some improvement, but, alas, it is was just as dismal and disappointing. They should have more of a clear system on which register they can take orders with. My father is a blind man who knows his way around town very well and loves going places specifically restaurants and surprising to most he gets around there on his own. Bit the reason why I came to rate this place today is that my father came here a the other day amd told me he received very bad service. Something is seriously wrong with the workers here I called and I asked specifically if they could put honey ketchup and hot sauce in my DoorDash order because on the DoorDash app it doesn't allow anyone to pick honey ketchup or hot sauce when I tried to ask the Dasher the last time to ask them for it, they told me I had to order it on the app. So even when I call directly and I asked, could they put it in my order they still don't listen. We came to this location just to pick up some chicken only (red beans and rice at home) and some other goodies since we were 2 orders on 1 ticket. I can't say enough about how he managed our order. First, he made sure he listened and upsold some of the items. I ordered the ghost pepper wings combo, an extra biscuit and a lemonade. He made sure we knew what options were available (frozen/fresh) and he really made an impression on us. My friend agreed. We know that sometimes the fast-food industry has apathetic people but that is NOT the case with this young man. My only complaint is that they sometimes appear to try to drown the bun in mayonnaise, a problem that is easily fixed! The service at this location tends to be adequate, only slightly faster if you order ahead. Still, I think it's worth it to know that the fried chicken sandwich will come out hot and freshly made.
