5 piece chicken tenders combo with biscuit, mashed potatoes, and sauces
    Sydney J.

I tried Popeyes for the first time here and ordered a 5 piece combo tenders with biscuit, mashed potatoes, coke and chose BoldBQ and honey mustard as the sauces, as well as the classic chicken sandwich which my partner had recommended. I thought the chicken tenders were pretty good, though I felt the biscuit and mashed potatoes were just alright as they're not as flavorful. I did enjoy getting to choose from multiple sauces, though. I also really liked the fried chicken in the sandwich, it was juicy while still being decently crispy. It's not the cheapest as fast food goes, but they do stand out with their fried chicken.

Well, ya know... it's Popeyes. Nothing special to see here, but I do want to comment on my delivery experiences with this Berkeley location. I've never been to their physical location, but my staff and I have ordered from here for delivery on a few different occasions and we've generally had a good experience. I'm not too big on fast food, but sometimes you just get them cravings. And when we're short staffed at work, delivery comes in handy when we're stuck in the office. The food is what you'd expect from your typical Popeye's location. For the most part, it usually arrives warm and they don't skimp out on the portions for to-go. Sometimes they don't provide enough sauces but that's small change considering other things that could go wrong. What I also like about ordering from this location is that they often participate in the promotions that are on their app. They usually have delivery promotions where you can get free items, drinks, or even another free meal. I can always stand to save a few bucks, so these deals come in handy (especially when ordering for multiple people). Unlike most people, my favorite item to get from Popeye's is their popcorn shrimp. Don't ask me why, but I just love the seasoning and the way that they fry their shrimp. Most of the time, I will order their popcorn shrimp either by itself or in a chicken combo. But, I do love their chicken as well. In my opinion, Popeye's is the top tier model when it comes to fast food fried chicken. Again, I can't comment on the service from their physical location. From reading through some of their latest reviews, it doesn't seem to be the greatest. But when it comes to delivery, they've served my staff and I well.

    WRONG ORDER

Ridiculously overpriced if you can't get the app to work for discounts. Side note: they cook SO MUCH CHICKEN in advance so when you order your food, it isn't HOT. And tbh it seems like a waste to have so much chicken sitting there under a heat lamp. I am sure they discard whatever is cooked at the end of the night. Sad. I couldn't finish my overpriced 3-piece meal and gave it to a man that came asking for chicken that was likely to be thrown out later that night and was denied. I don't mind the denial, but man. Maybe cook less food so that it won't get tossed later?? Flavor: I'm a basic bitch sometimes. Sometimes I'm bougie. But when I want boxed potatoes and salty chicken, I like me some Popeyes. I only ask that it's hot! Especially for $18 a portion. It wasn't. I asked for them to refry my order, but should I have to do that? Wasteful wasteful wasteful.

Stopped in between my work travels and grabbed lunch. Ordered the Cajun Flounder sandwich, which was good. However, they Chocolate Beignets are fabulous! Light, fluffy, and flaky! Really the best I have had outside of New Orleans. Only available for a limited time! And the service, just down right friendly!

    Hours of operation

They said they closed even though on the map website and on their door said they close 9:30-10:00 pm and I came at 8:50. Poor service

Whenever I'm in search of something good to eat in the Bay Area I always check TikTok first. My search directed me to Southside Station! It's a small quaint establishment with a very quiet vibe. When I entered, there was a table of three gentlemen sitting there enjoying their selections. I checked in with them and got suggestions on what I should order. They made a recommendation, but I chose something totally different. I ordered the wings and garlic noodles with a side of brussels sprouts. This place is known for their fried chicken because it's so extra crunchy. They definitely did deliver on the crunch and the flavor. The garlic noodles were very garlic, which is what I liked, and the brussels sprouts were sautéed in a honey glaze. I decided to enjoy my food inside the restaurant as opposed to sitting outside where they have two tables set up. The young lady that took my order was ever so sweet and kind. She was the only one I saw in the restaurant behind the counter, but there may have been others working further in the back. There was an error on my order and she was quick to correct the error with an apology and a smile. The portion size was decent. I ended up taking home leftovers.

For the appetizers, we got the caprese salad ($19), cheesy garlic bread ($14), chicken wings ($18), and BBQ pork riblets ($18). The caprese salad was one of my favorites. The spring mix was super fresh, and even though I'm not the biggest cheese fan, I really liked the fresh mozzarella. The vinaigrette had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors, making this a great spring or summer salad. The BBQ pork riblets and chicken wings were both a little dry. I liked the seasoning on the riblets, while the chicken wings were a bit lighter in flavor. The cheesy garlic bread was, as expected, super cheesy! I didn't realize the roasted garlic was served on the side, and personally wasn't the biggest fan of its flavor, but the focaccia itself had a great texture. We also shared the Aries ($22), Mercury ($21), and Cassiopeia ($25) pizzas. The Aries was a classic pepperoni pizza with a nice thin crust, and the Mercury was a margherita pizza. I liked the fresh tomatoes, although I wish there had been more basil. The Cassiopeia was my favorite of the three, and I can definitely see why it's so popular. The BBQ sauce was super flavorful and paired really well with the chicken and onions. Jupiter has a lively atmosphere and a really nice outdoor patio with live music, making it a fun spot for group dinners. I'd recommend making a reservation if you're coming with a larger group. Street parking is available nearby.
