We came here today and both had their vegan burgers with added mushrooms but the star of the meal today was definitely their chocolate dipped ice cream cones which is not available in Concord because they never have melted chocolate ready to dip. However this location, they are a pro at dipping ice cream cones in melted chocolate. We both ordered a regular sized chocolate soft serve with chocolate dip. Chocolate on chocolate is the best combo. It was the best dessert. I wish they had this chocolate dip at the location in Concord which is closer to me. This location is a lot louder because of the high ceilings and it's also connected to the Emeryville food court. It's not as cozy as some Super Dupers that I've been at in Mill Valley and Concord. The grilled onions in my burger was supposed to be caramelized but was more on the raw side. The additional mushrooms that I paid for were basically two slivers of mushroom. The cook at this restaurant needs to learn how to make caramelized onions and to put an adequate amount of whatever people pay extra for. The burger came out very lopsided and looked and tasted like a salad and not a burger. I've been eating veggie burgers for a decade now so this is definitely the least cooked veggie burger at a Super Duper. Also the bun was burnt and was blackened on the edges. At the entrance there are three self serve kiosks to order and at the far end is the ability to order with a human. Since we have varying dietary wants, this is great option for the vegetarian, the meat eater and the small appetite. Portion sizes are decent for the price. On a Thursday night, the Emeryville location is pretty busy but there still remained plenty of seating - inside of Super Duper and with the Emery Marketplace. We opted for a bar table just beneath a heater. If you're looking for a quality, healthier meal option then this is definitely the place to venture. I loved being able to get all pieces of the chicken sando and compile it myself. Garlic fries was good, althought I expected a larger portion, but I know shrinkflation is real. Overall, food meets expectation, service fast, but shakes can take a minute to make. There is dedicated space so you don't have to fight for a table instead the food hall. We ate at the bar that overlooks the pig in a pickle - and if you want beer you don't even have to go to the bar - they serve those right here - not true of many of the other restaurants in this area. Home made pickles were unique. Grab as many as you like near the soda fountain. And enjoy your drink with a gluten free pasta noodle. How fun is that? Even Donald Trump complained of these paper straws that disintegrate, stick to your lips and explode. Nobody likes that. Perfectly friendly staff - just wonderful... And the self order kiosks worked perfectly. Clean restaurant. Also I noticed a recession burger combo with drink and fries for $10. If your having financial problems or maybe are trying to feed a large family might make sense. I didn't try it - from the photo it looked a bit bare bones and I like big luxury burgers with extras. This was my first time trying Super Duper burgers. I took one bite and my first thought was, "this is better than in n out!" I like that the burger patty actually has meat in it. I also liked that I could pick my own cheese and add toppings like bacon! The burger was juicy and flavorful! My friend ordered the seasonal hazelnut shake which she said tasted like a Ferrero Rocher chocolate and she was right. She ordered the kids size which is the perfect little treat size if you don't want too much. She actually ended up and purchasing another hazelnut shake before we left the store and trying hers convinced me to get one too. Another thing my friend mentioned that was noteworthy is that because of the quality of ingredients that they use like the vegetarian fed beef, the meal doesn't leave you feeling gross after. We felt like we ate a good meal and had energy to keep going about our evening without feeling weighed down by our food. I ordered the fries too because potatoes are always a win. There wasn't anything particularly special about the fries. What I did notice was that the ketchup was vinegary tasting which sort of makes it feel house made. I appreciated that aspect. I was told they are known for their house made pickles that can be found in a large jar by the soda foundation. They were delicious and paired well with our burgers. OK this is gonna be a fun review but hopefully not too long. Easy 5 stars. EZ! I think this burger joint opened up many years after I moved out of the bay area but I frequently go back for work, and I make a beeline to this place as soon as lunch the bell rings lol. In other words, you see orderliness in the kitchen & front counter, with people taking care of every necessary task, keeping things going, paying attention, getting hot food out. Like a well oiled machine -it's great teamwork & you can see it. The burger patties, delicious, juicy, and has a freshly cooked it taste, as if they ground it fresh every day. In fact, it tastes like they chose to meet with a high rated vendor because there's a very good consistency which means they probably use a blend of different steak cuts, maybe a bit of Rib Eye? Or New York, mixed with Chuck, or something, because the patty itself is a dream. Not to go on, but all the condiments, lettuce, onions, are crunchy and spot on. I would not change a thing and I am a super picky burger person. I always usually add the jalapeño option, I don't do bacon, but I'm sure bacon is great there because they have high standards. If you don't mind eating a few extra vegetables, go for the avocado option they do a great job with it, and they put a lot on there for the money. French fries, have a handmade touched them. I don't know how they make them, maybe with really really good potatoes...and I'm also very picky about french fries. In other words I don't eat fast food french fries ever. Chocolate shakes are delicious here. I don't eat them anywhere else in the area except here and they are delicious one hundred percent.
