Sad lunch stop on a road trip. Not much good to say and we had been craving Popeyes. The order was placed to go. It was weird that the sides of red beans and rice sides were not given lids. A piece of tin foil was lightly draped across the tops of the containers because we were told they are out and the truck isn't coming with a delivery until tomorrow. Not exactly how you want to take the food to your car. They were also out of BBQ sauce and the soda was flat. Once we got to try the rice it was hard from either being very undercooked or left out too long and was hard. Either way, pretty gross. I am told the chicken sandwich was fine. My chicken tenders were also fine but there was no salt so not much flavor there. If we pass by the area we won't be back. So I've never had Popeyes before, but I'm a KFC fan. I thought I'd do a comparison, so I got the mild Popeyes chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, fries, and biscuits. Honestly, it was all just a bit 'meh'. The chicken had almost no flavor outside of grease and a bit of salt-though once the breading is off the chicken, it definitely needs salt. The mashed potatoes and gravy were on par with KFC, except the gravy had a bit of cajun spice to it which was nice. The biscuits were smaller than KFC, but more or less the same flavor. The cajun fries were solid, but nothing special. It was imminently edible, but that's about all I can say for it. I'll just go for KFC in the future. read more

This Popeyes is the WORST restaurant -- not just of any Popeyes -- but of ANY restaurant I've ever visited. I like the taste of Popeyes, so I've been a repeat visitor for months. Over the past several months, they've frequently been out of many foods. For example, they may only have a choice of two sodas, or may not have any sides other than mashed potatoes and gravy, or they may be out of chicken nuggets. But hey, maybe it's because they're having issues due to the pandemic -- it wasn't enough to complain about on Yelp. When their new chicken nuggets first came out, I ordered some and received a bunch of dried up chicken tenders (the length of the box) instead. But whatever... it wasn't enough to complain about on Yelp. Another time I placed an order via the mobile app. I decided to pick up my order via the drive-thru. I waited fifteen minutes to reach the speaker, even though there were only three cars ahead of me. When I told them that I placed a mobile order, they told me to come inside the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, I was told that they ran out of the food I ordered and would not be able to give me a refund. Instead, I would have to contact their customer service to request a refund. To recap, they took my money, I drove five minutes to get to the restaurant, waited fifteen minutes in the drive-thru, and had to walk in just to walk out empty-handed with neither my money nor food! What the actual duck. Even THEN, I didn't post a Yelp complaint. Today, however, was the last straw. I drove up to the the drive-thru speaker and waited at least six minutes without ANY acknowledgement. Eventually, someone took my order (yet again they were out of several items.) of the three full chicken wing meal. On my drive home, I took a sip of the Diet Coke -- the liquid tasted so VILE and WRETCHED that I involuntarily spit it out, while driving and almost causing an accident. It splattered all over my suede boots -- ruining them -- and my car interior. And then on top of that, when I got home, my order of three chicken wings turned out to be one drumstick and two wings. The five-piece tenders were crunchy, juicy, and flavorful, and I could never return to regular fries after having Cajun-style. The BBQ sauce I ordered wasn't in the bag, but the cashier became aggravated when I politely asked for some. She kept whipping her head back and forth from me to the computer screen before sighing, slamming the drive-thru window closed, and marching off. When someone accuses you of being rude for saying,"you forgot a few things in my order I placed earlier." I didn't raise my voice even to try to stop the employee from talking over me. We went there today and my mom ordered it on the app. So once we got to the window, they told us that they never got the order. The one lady said to the other one to write our order down and she didn't. Luckily the order was correct. I got the blackened chicken sandwich and that was good. My sister ordered the popcorn shrimp meal. It came in a little cup along with mac n cheese. No biscuit. She was eating them and she gave me one and they were super crunchy and so I looked at it and it was a tail! We then looked at all of them and they were all tails and poop sacs! I haven't been to Popeye's in a while because it seems like every time I go something is wrong with my experience. Today I just wanted one chicken sandwich and some tenders. They were out of bread for the sandwiches. Luckily, I checked my bag before I left so that I could kindly remind them that I still needed my sauces that I asked for. Last time I showed up and I ordered chicken tenders. They had no sauces, only one drink option, and gave us our food in a styrofoam box. Cold tenders btw. The time before that we ordered delivery, and like many deliveries from Popeyes before that, the bag was missing items. This time it was two of the sandwiches (the main entrees). After bouncing between calling the Doordash driver, Popeyes, Doordash, Popeyes, Doordash, and Doordash one more time (where they called Popeyes for me again), I decided it was time to reach out to my bank to file a dispute for a full refund. I do food delivery on the side for extra money, and I dread picking up orders from the Binghamton Popeye's. I stopped eating there myself years ago, because they never could get a drive-thru order right,and could care less if they messed up you order. As a delivery driver, you can expect to wait or have them "forget" a good portion of the order. Tonight I had a 35 minute wait, for an order sent in 10 minutes before. Which let me see the order under the heat lamps, waiting for the staff to finish assembling it. But at least the 5 customers that came in after got their orders ahead of mine. 10 minutes to put chicken in the boxes, another 10 to put a biscuit in the boxes, another 10 to add the fries. It only took 3 employees asking me about why I was there for the 4th to put it in a bag. I THINK they got the whole order, which is a step up from other times where they left half the combo or dinner out.
