I order the Blackened Chicken Strips here fairly often. I normally order them ahead of time on the App for convenience and to make sure all my rewards are being applied correctly. It is not cheap! The cheapest I ever got was $1.15 per strip. But sometimes, when you are trying to live that low-carb life and get protein and you haven't prepped anything and you are out of the house, it's a real life saver! I can only give 3 stars because about 95% of the time I order I have to go wait and it takes nearly 20 minutes to receive my order. So while I am happy with my order, I wish there was a way they could better estimate the time it takes to cook an order so I could run other small errands while I'm waiting jn the plaza there. For $5.98, the sandwich is actually big enough for my husband and me. It is an approximate 3/4" thick cutlet (not a patty), coated in just enough batter and served on a brioche style bun with thinly sliced pickles. I requested spicy, to which they add a spicy mayonnaise. It's the real thing, tender with a crisp coating. It beats every other fast food chicken sandwich including Chick Filet. Stopped at this establishment for a sandwich, sides and wings on a Saturday. It was mildly busy as I entered the building. The atmosphere was upbeat and clean. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, sweet and spicy wings, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. It was served within five minutes, the staff was efficient and polite. The sandwich was very good, my favorite among the chicken sandwich competitors. The wings were crispy with an applied sauce, good but not exceptional in my estimation. We had to grab a quick snack when we were running errands. We used the drive through. It was fast and the food was hot. My significant other wanted to try the chicken sandwich to compare it to Chick-fil-a. He liked the packaging they used because it was lined so there was some insulation to keep it hot and crispy. The sandwich was good and much crispier than Chick-fil-a. The chicken strips were good, also very crispy and the Bayou Buffalo sauce has a lot of flavor. I used to drive from Buffalo to Rochester once a year to get Popeyes chicken before it was available here. I'm so disappointed in this place. I've been at least 5 times and not once have they had cole slaw. How could they be out every time and at various times of day. Yesterday it was around noon. The chicken is usually overcooked. Popeyes is on my annual Purge list which is the one time a year I get to eat at each fast food restaurants and Sunday was that faithful day. I came to the Hamburg location (Nothing near the McKinley Mall is Buffalo, come on now) around noon and the place had a good number of people inside. I decided to order the $10 5peice box with 2 sides because why not get 2 meals instead of one for the same price? The staff was friendly enough, the food came out pretty quick, and most importantly I was about to eat some of that delicious Popeyes chicken I have been craving since September of last year (yes, I remember the last time I ate Popeyes). Let's be honest, the fried chicken was absolutely delicious because it always is. It was juicy, flavourful, and the same can be said for the Cajun mashed potatoes I got on the side. The macaroni and cheese is still sitting in my fridge because I haven't gotten around to it yet, and the biscuit was good as usual. Popeyes has never let me down and even though they gave my girlfriend an opened, empty sauce cup (Kind of gross honestly), I still absolutely love this place. All I can say is I look forward to coming back next year. Also, Popeyes deserves 4 stores. read more

Popeyes is a new thing for our local area and its been open for a few weeks now so I figured it was time to try it out! I have been seeing the television spot advertising all its great looking food so I was pretty excited to swing by. Maybe a bit too excited as it turns out because as I approached the brand new menu board I noticed it was VERY limited. Most of the items listed are combos that come with a drink and side, but you CAN order just the main item without the add ons. We tried the chicken combo, chicken wrap and I also got the popcorn shrimp! Sitting down and opening up the food was a dissapointment as there were no sauces with the order. Boo! I went for the wrap first and it was tasty. For almost $4 though it was super small and not filling at all. I did like the sauce and the crunch of the chicken. It's going to be a hard sell up against other local places like Jim's Steakout which offers a larger wrap for less $$. The chicken itself was tasty and the breading was crunchy and good l, however I have to take off points because the actual chicken piece was super thin and not much to it. All breading! D: Dang! I was dissapointed as this place has "chicken" in its name, you'd expect them to serve some actual chicken with their breading. Finally, the all famous popcorn shrimp that I've been seeing on TV for years. So excited for this as I opened the cool looking box! Sadly all I saw was some tiny soggy little spuds. This location is the only Popeyes that I've ever visited. The food was decent as far as fast food goes and it became one of of the fast-food stores in our family's occasional rotation. Until March of this year. We ordered a few chicken sandwiches and specified that we wanted no toppings on them. When we got home, we found them with pickles (okay, we could have picked those off) and slathered in mayo, which we cannot stomach. We didn't want to drive back in the bad weather that day, so I tried to write store feedback on their website, which didn't work because of site errors. I ended up submitting my comments in another place on the site. Here's the history of my interactions with them: 3/26 - Submitted Feedback describing the problem with my order. 3/28 - Received response with apologies and a promise that they'll contact me. 3/29 - Added more info to the feedback per their request (store #, sale amount, etc.) 4/7 - Received response with apologies and a promise that they'll contact me. 5/20 - Noticed that I hadn't heard back from them. Wrote them to let them know that I hadn't received a response. 5/21 - Received response with apologies and a promise that they'll contact me. 6/9 - Wrote them to let them know that I hadn't received a response. 6/9 - Received response with apologies and a promise that they'll contact me. 6/16 - Still no response. Wrote them again, but am not optimistic. So...Popeyes is out of the rotation, sent down to the minors, relegated to the practice squad. I wanted fried chicken, yummy juicy crispy fried chicken. It's late at night after 8:30. And due to recent bad experience with KFC I decided to go with Popeyes. A bit farther but I have to have it. We decided to just go thru the drive thru. When we ordered they told us no card. We were like ok, me thinking thank God I just got some cash! I'd be freakin out if I cannot get the chicken! They run out of fries so I ended up with I suppose healthier choice of coleslaw and sweet tea... o wait no, not sweet tea because they run of it! But they don't tell me until I took a sip and was like uhm no... (I learn my lesson to took a sip to make sure I get the right drink). We gave it back and he left the window and came back a few moments later and said they run out. And asked if I want sugar. Hmmmpphhh. Ok so cash only, no fries and no sweet tea. I'm getting hangry. We love this place! Despite being a chain it has the best fried chicken around! We've been here 3 or 4 times now and the service has always been fast, friendly and efficient. The chicken is excellent, the mac and cheese is cheesy, the mashed potatoes are awesome with the sawmill gravy, the pecan pie and mardi gras cheesecake are deLISH, and even the biscuits (which I don't usually care for) are pretty tasty. The restaurant has been clean every time we've been, and you can even catch a peek of them hand battering the chicken! You'll always wait in a long line for food, because it's fresh. This time, I waited in the drive through for a decent amount of time and the food was NOT fresh. I ordered the hot honey chicken tenders. They were decently spicy, but not super spicy. Normally I can't handle spicy things, but I was able to eat these. Also, they didn't taste much like honey. I actually think just ordering plain tenders with honey sauce is better and you can taste more honey! And you can actually pick the flavor of spice for your tenders. After seeing the commercial for the hot honey tenders, I realized I never got the red spicy honey sauce that's supposed to come with them.
