I will start this review by saying that I went to this location in 2023 when it opened and I haven't been back because the experience was terrible. That is, until today. I went around 11:30am and it was pretty much dead, I ordered ahead online and picked up my order in the drive thru. The person working was so sweet and kind. I could tell it was either her alone or with little to no help inside which was a little sad knowing the stress that's probably on her running the show alone, but she was still so kind and attentive. We did have to park and wait for a few minutes for some chicken to be done but I didn't mind the wait at all, everything was steaming hot and fresh. I got a chicken sandwich, and my friends got a 4 piece and chicken nuggets and we all got a large fry to share. Everything was packaged nicely, everything was hot, the chicken itself was crispy and juicy, it was all cooked perfectly. The outside of the building looked clean and well kept (not sure about the inside since I never went in) and there was no garbage on the ground or anything outside the building. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, this Popeye's location is definitely back on my radar. My only concern is about the employees, I truly hope that my assumption of employees working alone or almost alone is incorrect, I know how stressful work can be (especially customer service or restaurant jobs) and I hope that the person working today gets recognized for her excellent service. read more

Gone here twice now and regretted it both times. The chicken sandwich just taste like oil, grease and mayo. Biting into it all I tasted was the breading of the chicken+grease. The chicken itself was the cheap tasting chicken and stringy. The sauces aren't good either in my opinion. The service we had was good but there was no one else in line. 1. I was very excited to see a new restaurant in Concord because I've lived here most of my life and I miss having variety like out in California. 2. I finally convinced my mother to come here with me and try it out this summer. If you can't eat spicy foods do not eat here the regular chicken tastes like cardboard nothing, salt oil fat and fillers. At least KFC has some kind of flavoring to it. 3. It was overpriced the sauces sucked also and the fries were terrible, as well as the biscuits which were tiny. My mom got the macaroni and cheese side and she said it tasted horrible as well and it looked like a gelatinous mess. She said it seemed like they had left it under the warmer too long. 5. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy, stay away from Popeyes if you value taste, value and your sanity. read more

Popeyes opened in Concord this week on the former Toys R Us site on Loudon Road. This location with drive-thru has been extremely busy over the past couple of days with a long drive thru line and a busy lobby, which also has seating too. At the time of this posting, they were not accepting DoorDash orders (coming soon), online and Popeyes app orders, which is where you can earn Popeyes rewards points towards free food. I stopped by around 10:45 AM after the 10:30 AM opening time and the place was already busy inside and in the drive-thru. I decide to go inside since I am aware that Popeyes drive thru waits can be very long as experienced at the Manchester location. And there were only two people ahead of me in line. I ordered the Shrimp Tackle Box ($5 plus tax on special) and a Cinnamon Apple Pie ($1.89 plus tax). The staff here was still in training mode and really hustling in the kitchen and behind the counter. However, it took a while for orders to be ready. My order was bagged in about 12 minutes, but they were missing the fries and biscuit which come with the shrimp box. I inform the counter worker who took my order and I explain that the shrimp box came with fries and biscuit because I was just at another Popeyes and ordered the same thing. They were under pressure from a lot of orders, so they just gave me the fries and the biscuit and I was all set. The 10 breaded fried butterfly shrimp were hot and crispy as were the battered seasoned cajun fries, dipping into creole cocktail sauce. The biscuit was very light and tasty and the fried apple pie was coated with cinnamon sugar and filled with very hot sweet apple filling. Overall, other than the hiccups of getting orders out and getting my order correct, more training needed, the fried food I ordered is what I come to expect from a typical Popeyes. I did not factor service time into this posting, but order accuracy matters. I will update this posting at a later time once the newness of Popeyes in the Concord area begins to fade and they start accepting Popeyes app orders. read more

I love Popeyes chicken. I was pumped when I heard one was coming to Concord. I went when they opened. Super slow, angry and slow employees, and cold, tough chicken. A far cry from what I am used to at Popeyes. Figured it was grand opening woes. So I went back a few months later. Employees looked more pissed, and going slower. To boot you can see the kitchen from the front counter and it was disgustingly dirty. One sandwich some fries and a coke took almost 45 minutes. And came out shitty and cold again. The Nashua location out in front of Tulley is pretty good. Not sure why ours has to be such a shit hole. Don't go here or it will ruin Popeyes for you forever. read more

Gross. I had such high hopes but I'm all set. We ordered here for lunch today. Even before I opened the box of chicken, I could smell it. It smells like...a ripe locker room? Hard to describe the nasty stench coming from that box but if I had to place a bet on the source, one bite of my chicken tender told me that it's blatantly obvious that no one has changed the fryer oil since the place opened months ago. This was the second attempt to eat at Popeyes in Concord NH we walked in at 4:35pm no one really inside afew people waiting and the kid behind the counter saw us come in turned around back facing us and was swearing about us coming in and aggressively throwing food in boxes then stormed over to the door complained to a woman walking in that they were closed and locked a door then walked over to the other side and locked door. Tried out the new Popeyes tonight and, sadly, was not impressed. Between a 20 minute wait at the drive thru, two of the items we requested not being available, most of the food being cold - not lukewarm but COLD - and their getting one of our orders wrong, it was a disappointment. On a more positive note, the food was tasty and fresh (if rather greasy.) My SO's mashed potato was very good. The young gentleman at the window was pleasant and polite. I realize they just opened and need to get their bearings. I feel potential here and will give them another chance. I do hope they succeed. read more

I don't know why they call this place fast food it's far from that. I believe they make your chicken on the go which means you wait in line for an awful long time. This is a new location in Concord on Loudon Road and the food isn't even that great. I would still rather eat at KFC. Not only that, but they need to train their workers. Twice a year I treat myself to Popeye's. It is insanely delicious (but pretty much anything else is healthier) - twice a year it's a major joy. So I was happy to see one in Concord, NH. The experience was bizarre. It was a Monday night--not a weekend rush--I waited for 20 minutes in the drive-thru lane, which was odd enough, but figured there was just a massive order ahead of me. I later asked, and, "No, there was no big order. It's always like this." However, when I got to the spot where you order the person taking the orders wasn't trained and didn't seem to know very much about the menu and had to keep disappearing to ask questions--still ok...businesses have trouble with staffing and it wasn't that employee's fault...but I ordered 3 pieces, all dark meat, 2 thighs and a leg/2 hot and 1 regular they said ok, but when I got to the window I waited....and waited....and finally was about to pay but was informed they'd run out of thighs and I'd "have to get legs." They also had no more of the desert. I was PO'd because I just spent 28 minutes just trying to order, so I said "Forget it" and pulled out. The cashier yelled out the window "EFFFFFF YOUUUUUU!!" Holy disaster. This place is a complete mess of a fast food restaurant. We expected it to be busy because it's brand new but when it takes 45 minutes to get Popeyes chicken, you know something is wrong. And then they screwed up the order. We weren't the only ones. Nearly everyone inside was talking to each other joking about the wait time and then watching to see who would have to approach the counter to complain about something being off. I'm surprised there wasn't a riot. We weren't expecting gourmet as we've been to Popeyes before but the food wasn't even good. It wouldn't have been good had it been fast food. This was just bad, excruciatingly slow food. The trash barrels were overflowing. There were no napkins to be found. A truly pathetic experience. read more

As for the food ... amazing! As for service, seems like they'restll on opening day. Not the fastest group of employees. Management should take the bull by the horns and straighten out the service end of the operation. Efficiency needs to be improved. A bit of a wait, but the chicken is worth the wait. I'm telling you that I love Popeye's in other States. They're still getting the hang of this opening, and they're a mostly teenaged staff, so I respect that, but there's a learning curve they need to figure out. We checked our order (16 piece meal, eight biscuits, two sides). The kid doing the order was having some difficulty, it appeared. He gave us NINE biscuits, NINE pieces of chicken, and got our sides, but only after being told how to do it by the cashier, who .... is actually amazing. He was good at relationship management with customers, made sure we got the rest of the order and was pretty kind and professional. They may need to take a day off and retrain these folks on how to work a line, though. I'm confident it'll improve. read more

I encountered a terrible customer service experience today. The older cashier lady added unwanted drinks to my order. She yelled at me when I asked to remove the beverages from my order. She yelled you WILL pay for it! I refused to pay for something I didn't want. The cashier's behavior was unacceptable and discriminatory. When my friend requested to speak to her manager, she rudely told him to leave the restaurant and return to Canada, even though he was from Russia. The manager was called over due to our complaint about her behavior. The manager stated that she received numerous complaints and explicitly mentioned her bipolar personality. Her job responsibilities should not be on the register. I firmly believe that a complimentary item would be appropriate compensation for our unacceptable experience. However, that did not happen. The entire team needs extensive customer service training. I urge you to avoid the Popeye's in Concord, NH. Based on my experience, it does not meet the standards of quality and service that one would expect from a fast-food chain. read more

The chicken is now ready ( 45 minutes ) - it's cold and the fries are barely warm. While waiting, I had the opportunity to watch the staff abuse several customers. One lady had a receipt which showed she ordered, and paid for 2 coleslaws. They gave her a very bad, abusive time. When she retrieved the receipt, to prove her purchase, they didn't even apologize! Slow service, cold food and a rude staff. If that's your cup of tea, you'll love the Concord Popeye's. read more

Wish I could give it less than one star. Not only does it take forever to get your online order, the "manager" is abusive to customers, it's absolute disorganized chaos. There was plenty of people working, nobody was doing one thing, no direction, all going in circles. I was getting very anxious watching this mess. Place was dirty. Cannot speak to the food as I never received it. 80$ order had to get refund. They were actually joking about another patron waiting one hour plus in parking lot. Went to the drive-up but the menu wasn't working so I had to try to order by memory. Went to the window and wasn't acknowledged for a good 3 mins. When they opened the window I heard a crash and the woman at the window became visibly annoyed. She took my card and then walked over and started wiping a counter down while holding my card. When she came back, she handed me my card and told me to pull ahead and they'd bring out my food...so I did. 5 minutes went by and I noticed the same person who was going to bring me my food helping another customer. I assumed she had forgotten me, as it had been almost 10 mins, so I decided to drive around to the drive thru to remind them I was still here. No one even answered me so I went to the window. The same woman came around the corner with my order (2 sandwich combos and a chicken finger combo) with attitude claiming she was coming out the door when I drove off...that's a lie as I looked to make sure nobody was coming. I got mad and told her that she was lying and it turned into a shouting match...some manager came over telling me to stop shouting in her restaurant instead of asking what happened. I flipped. She said she didn't care and said to never come back. Food is good, but SERVICE SUCKS! It wasn't that busy & we had to wait an hour for our food because they had to cook the chicken. The chicken was greasy. The mashed potatoes & gravy were spicy. They messed up on our order. I went to this Popeyes location in Concord, and I will never go back. The service was as slow as it could possibly be. They clearly give priority to the drive-thru. Every customer that came into the lobby waited 5-10 mins just to order their food, not just me. Then, I waited 10 more minutes to get the food, and they literally messed up my order 3 times. I ordered 2 blackened chicken sandwiches. I got the wrong sandwich twice. Then I got 1 of the the 2 sandwichs I ordered, and had to wait another 10 mins for the other one only to have it be wrong again. The manager was working the front counter and didn't care about fast service or making the correct food for orders. No apology from the manager for the wrong food or waiting almost half an hour to get food. Everyone else that came into the lobby waited at least 10 mins to get their food. No idea if they got the right food or not. I was excited to see a Popeyes chicken location in Concord, but I'll never go there again. Slowest fast food experience of my life. read more
