First time eating at this diner and they did not disappointment! The food was awesome, my partner had the Dinah which was on two played and he ate everything, my fathers omelet was so delicious. I spent a few days up in New Hampshire visiting my parents and we ended up going to The Red Arrow Diner for lunch one day. I liked the look of the place from the outside and from the inside it had a nostalgic diner feel to it. This place was pretty dang packed when we came in so after maybe a 10-15 minute wait we were seated, served water, and given some menus to be faced with the difficult decision of picking out a meal. As a Canadian living in the states, anytime I see "poutine" on the menu I immediately question what is about to be served to me, but I took a chance and ordered the poutine with chicken fingers on top of it. The food didn't take very long to come out and I was fairly impressed when it was put down in front of me. The gravy looked to be right, the cheese curds were there, the fries were there, and guess what? so were the chicken strips. The meal itself was pretty solid, although the gravy tasted like non poutine gravy, otherwise I enjoyed the meal. The fries were solid and the chicken strips were what you would expect from a diner. I probably would have been a bigger fan if the menu didn't feature something called the "trump towers" since I like to keep sexual predators away from my wife and food, but hey, what are you gonna do? Overall, The Red Arrow Diner fed us and we left with full stomachs. My parents love this place and will keep on coming back for more, and I'll probably end up here again in the future with them and give it another shot. read more

After a long day of driving, my fiancée and I stopped at Red Arrow Diner in Concord hoping to refuel with some classic diner food. I walked in hungry enough that I probably would have considered eating the table if it had been seasoned properly. The first impression was great. The staff was friendly, and Victoria, our waitress, was fantastic. She was attentive, checked on us regularly, and somehow managed to be helpful without doing the aggressive "HEY, IT'S THEIR FIRST TIME HERE, EVERYBODY CLAP!" routine that happened with another customer. A+ on the service side. Unfortunately, my meal and my fiancée's meal appeared to have attended two completely different restaurants. She ordered the steak tips and fries and absolutely loved them. No complaints. She was happy, I was happy for her, and the steak tips apparently understood the assignment. I ordered the big breakfast platter: eggs, toast, pan fries, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. After seeing the sign proudly advertising Red Arrow as one of the "Top 10 Diners in the Country," my expectations were set somewhere between "pretty good diner breakfast" and "life-changing plate of breakfast greatness." Instead, my breakfast arrived looking like it had already experienced a rough day before I did. The bacon and sausage were cold. The pancakes were somehow both wet and defeated before I even touched them with syrup or butter. The toast managed to achieve the impossible combination of being soggy and dry at the same time. The pan fries were the one thing that showed up ready to work, and the eggs were acceptable enough to join the team. For a $16.99 breakfast platter, I managed to eat maybe 30% of it. The rest was left behind as a tribute to the breakfast gods. I also tried the brownie frappe, which was basically a fancy milkshake wearing a diner disguise. It was actually really good, but unfortunately a good milkshake cannot single-handedly rescue a breakfast that missed the mark. The frustrating part is that I actually wanted to love this place. The staff clearly cared, and I hate leaving a negative review when the person taking care of us did everything right. The problem wasn't the service--it was the food. My final verdict: the steak tips seem to be where it's at. Maybe Red Arrow is secretly a lunch/dinner champion wearing a breakfast marketing hat. The staff at this location are always friendly.and helpful. The food is plentiful and served to order. If you don't leave with some leftovers, you obviously have a bigger stomach than most! With the addition of alcohol to the menu, it makes, at least my experience, more enjoyable. The only downfall, at least in this trip, is that an 8 piece Buffalo Wing App is $14. I wasn't expecting to have Tourtiere for Breakfast!!!!! Red Arrow Delivered some deliciously classic French Canadiana like their memere used to make! It was very good. The inside reminded my of my own memere's thanksgiving stuffing. I was very happy with my breakfast. For the non-french canadians - tortiere is pork pie and that is what they call it on the menu, Pork Pie! Red arrow was super cute had all diner vibes. Said it had been open since the 1920s. The TV screens showed us that Barak Obama had been there (which was much more impressive than when they showed us that Chris Sununu had been there - though it's nice to hear he supports local business.). When my husband reminded me about pictures it was to late. But I had eggs, pancakes, bacon and homefries. They have breakfast here all the time! They also have delicious chicken tenders and yummy fried fish! The dessert counter will make your mouth water! They have pies, cakes, and more! You can even buy the mugs here! I had liver bacon and onions and bacon was not cooked. I notified waiter Nick and he took liver and threw it out. He did not communicate with cook of the uncooked bacon. When I asked him if he spoke with cook he said yes but we were seated in the area of kitchen and watched him toss the bacon. His attitude was not very business like and had a I don't care attitude. The meal was good except for the uncooked bacon. Nick could have communicated with cook to let them know and replace it. Nick admitted to not talking with chef and was going to discount meal. That was not the point of this situation but rather communicating to help the situation for future patrons and having good communication and better customer service skills. There were 4 adults and a toddler. Mid afternoon on a Wednesday. Not busy. First, the good. We were seated promptly, the waitress was a good one, with a sense of humor, and while it took our table a long time to decide, she was good natured about it. We ordered eggs Benedict, a steak omelette, a chicken fingers dinner, American chop suey, hot dog, 4 frappes, and sides of home fries, grits, Mac and cheese, and a poutine for the table. Phew. Honestly none of it, aside from the eggs, really tasted homemade. The home fries were standard frozen quick fried, tasteless and greasy. One of the frappes ( the brownie one) was really bad. Sounds odd, but there was too much chocolate syrup. All on the bottom. The grits were simply not edible. In fact our waitress agreed. As this was the one thing we "complained about" and she promptly took it off the bill. The Canadian bacon on my Benedict was not good at all. I had to remove it. The American chop suey had good flavor but the pasta was complete mush. The steak omelette was fine as were the chicken fingers. The Mac & Cheese had the bright color of boxed Kraft, was not overcooked, but alas had no taste. The poutine...the gravy was pretty good. The cheese curds were tasteless and the fries are more like baked than fried. They have that odd crackling almost batter on them. For me, not what I like, but I recognize that's just me. Once again, the food was at its best mediocre with a couple of big misses, and virtually all of it tasted like it came off a. Institutional truck's order. If I could give less than one star I would. I never leave negative reviews. With my extremely patient two and three year old in tow, my husband and I thought we would treat them to a fun "breakfast for dinner." The young girls working thought it was very funny to sit us and then go to every other table around us getting their waters, drinks and food, all after seating them well after us. We left after keeping our kiddos sitting there patient for over 45 minutes without even placing a drink order. My three year old boy just wanted to place his order for PB &C waffles. My boyfriend and I went here tonight and were disappointed in the food. The waitress we had was very nice, no issues there. The diner was clean and wasn't too loud. I ordered a quesadilla and a side of mac and cheese, my boyfriend ordered poutine. The poutine was okay but I could've made a better mac and cheese and quesadilla at home. I saw this was on diners, drive-ins and dives, so I had to stop. It's a 50s style diner setting with booth, table or counter seating. My friend and I were seated promptly at the counter upon our arrival. The waitress was friendly and provided good service. After perusing the menu, I oped to go with a monte cristo sandwich because I've never had one and have always wanted to try it. But, maybe I should've had one of the items Guy went there for instead. The monte cristo wasn't bad, but not great and wasn't quite what I was expecting. Whenever I've seen monte cristo's they were always the sandwich put together, then dipped in the french toast batter and cooked up;thus monte cristo was simply just made between two pieces of french toast, which made it hard to dip in the syrup without it falling apart. Also, the turkey was a little dry. Now to leave you with what I liked about the sandwich; it was fresh carved turkey (none of that lunch meat crap) and there was a LOT of it! The french toast it was on was well done, no gross uncooked or gooey bits. I would not order this sandwich again, but all in all it wasn't a food disappointment. I've long been a fan of the Red Arrow as an institution. I used to spend many late nights at the original location in Manchester, enjoying the food and admiring all the photos of past notable patrons. This was my first time at the Concord location, and I'm sad to say that it just wasn't that great. I went with my friend who lives in Concord and she said that she and her husband hadn't been for a few years given how the owner handled COVID regulations. Yikes. This was my first time at the Red Arrow as a vegetarian, so I had to look at the menu in a whole new way. I ended up ordering the vegetarian hash, which was tasty but not fantastic. It did hit the spot. My friend ordered an appetizer of fried mac and cheese balls, and it tasted just like the ones from Trader Joe's with velveeta melted on top. They were still frozen on the inside. We alerted the server who sincerely apologized and offered to have them redo it, but we declined as it would have been too much food. We would have appreciated it coming off the check, however. It was way too expensive to only be able to eat less than a third of a dish. Despite all the quality slips and the questionable choices of management, the staff were great. Really friendly and attentive service, even from the server in training. Not the best evaluation but because of rainy weather and it being the start of motorcycle weekend service was slow and waitresses looked stressed. This was the worst restaurant experience of my life. I ordered an open face turkey sandwich, mashed potato and gravy with a side of squash. The squash tasted like it had been sitting in a metal pot for days, everything was cold and most the turkey was not edible. There was also screaming coming from the kitchen and I heard waitresses complaining to cooks that food was cold and it took too long. One waitress who had a table of four received just one meal. I heard her tell the cook that she couldn't give just one meal to the table. I told my server about my bad meal and she did not tell me I could speak to a manager, nor did she take my meal off the ticket. This restaurant is without "class" and "professionalism." Good afternoon, I visited the Concord location on 12-1-2024 and was completely shocked by the lack of service. First I wanted to state that we are frequent customers of the Concord location. We have visited this diner at least ten times in the month of November alone. We even bought our Thanksgiving dinner pies from this location ( Big hit by the way). You can imagine our surprise today with how we were treated . We were seated right away and then waited at least 10 minutes before our waitress even came to our table. Kim came over and stated the waitress needed a break and asked for our drink order, I assumed she was a manager but later found out she was a hostess. When the waitress did show up (Danielle) who did not announce her name or welcome us to the diner like all your other waiters and waitresses do. She just asked what we wanted for drinks and then noticed we had coffee so we asked for two waters and gave her our dinner orders. She left and then went to the next table of seven people and took their orders. She then proceeded to get their drinks and their shakes before even putting our order in. I asked her if it was busy and she said it was slow for a Sunday, they usually have a forty five minute wait or more. I then asked for our waters again. She then brought them over and said she just put our order in and apologized. We waited another 20 minutes and the table of seven that came in after us got their food before we did. My wife had the Haddock dinner and I had the country breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs. During my meal I noticed a lot of grease or butter in the bottom of the bowl so I asked Kim if this was how it is supposed to be and she said no I don't think so but I will ask. So we waited and I finished the food because I hate sending anything back and was just asking for my own piece of mind. She never got back to me. We then got a to go box for my wife's meal and I saw Kim telling the other employees she was leaving so I asked her if she forgot about my question and she said Danielle didn't come over and talk to you? I said no one did and she just said sorry. So when Danielle came over with the check I asked her about it and she was rude, arrogant and dismissive saying "well you ate it all" I said I wasn't asking for a refund and she said good. I told her that I had asked Kim and that's when she said she is just a hostess and why did you ask her first. I said I was just asking so I don't order it again. She then left the bill and we had to wait another ten minutes before she came back. I have never felt so disappointed and disrespected in any time that I have gone to your restaurant. You have some great people that work at this location, Mikey the host, Kayla the waitress and her mom in the kitchen. You also have Jennifer and Bree ( not spelled like the cheese she told us) and a tall gentleman that was very good as well. I am not sure what can be done but I thought you should be aware. I will probably be back but will stay clear of this server and that item. I have attached a picture of the bowl for reference. We spent sixty five dollars that included pie as well. Truly disappointed in somewhere I frequent often between e different locations. They had changed their hours on the door. I waited a few hours. I ordered and asked for a charger to get an Uber home. They said they don't have any. A customer give me their charger from their car. They said they have no public outlets when I saw one staring at me. Pretty sad when we can't even unify to help others get home by simply offering an outlet for 10 minutes to a paying customer. I paid for the food and left it for someone else. read more

The food has always been very good here and today's review is more about the attitude of an employee than anything more. We were meeting our son and his bride to be here. We got here first so put our name in. We were NOT told that we couldn't be sat. Seth, who is the worker that was going to seat us said to me "where are the other 2?" I told him "they're not here yet" he then said "then we cant seat you" with a real attitude. I said "ok. Noone.told us that when we checked in." He then replied "thats a them problem." There are very few greasy spoon types of establishments left in America. The Red Arrow was highly recommended by a friend of mine while I was bounding around New Hampshire with my kiddos. The star of this place is the poutine (potatoes with gravy and cheese curds for the unaware), which was what I specifically wanted. There was nothing disappointing about my visit. The place is seriously popular, so a long wait can be expected if you come during the rush. One cool thing this place does is keeps a running list of its famous patrons that have dined there. Even some of the booths have a labeled placard of who sat where. It's definitely a nice touch for a very small chain. I will definitely come again when I am passing through! read more

The Red Arrow has a lot to like! My SO and I have been frequent customers since they opened several years ago. We have found the food, in general, to be excellent (although there have been issues with food temperature) and the service has ALWAYS been outstanding. We especially appreciate that everything on the menu is available all day. However... lately we noticed that the prices have risen dramatically and the portions - while still quite generous - have shrunken noticeably. This is especially the case with their $21 fried haddock. I understand that these are the times we live in, and like I said, we very much enjoy the Red Arrow... but their prices are forcing us to cut back a bit on our visits.
