Probably one of the most garbage operations I've seen in a long time. Staff are rude and act like they're doing me a favor, like it's some five star Michelin restaurant. Food is meh. Ambiance is mostly "we don't care about you." Case in point. I ordered a meal off the app since ordering in person is an exercise in prolonged waiting and agony. Very simple order. Told to park even though no one was behind me. Five minutes later some woman comes out and says they don't have what I ordered. WTF they didn't say that at the window is beyond me. Acted like they were being all nice by substituting a lesser priced item instead with no mention of the refund owed on the difference. Woman brings food out and basically tosses it at me. Horrible food!!! Rude staff and hands down the worst fast food experience I've hand in awhile. Attendant who took my order was short tempered and didn't let me finish ordering before saying head to the window. My receipt had the wrong items on it. When I got home willing to look past the issues I had one taste of the Mac and cheese, and I kid you not it tastes as if something was added to the food. Almost plastic / stagnant water taste that I immediately took away from my family and tossed out in fear it may actually get everyone sick. Avoid at all costs for health and safety. I have been coming to this Popeyes for the last two I I live in Woodbridge Virginia. They have several Popeyes there, but I will drive from Woodbridge to this Popeyes on Centerville Road. This location is "Ok". Normally when you are going to Popeyes it's a cheat day anyways and you know you are getting "soul food". I normally always order the chicken tenders with a side of mash potatoes and my spouse always orders the chicken sandwich, no pickles and and a half sweet half unsweet tea with no ice. Today was no different. We places our order and it seemed like there was some communication issues with the lady taking orders over the intercom. She repeated everything back, eventually, including the half half no ice and no pickle. We got to the window and paid with credit card. We got the order in the car - which of course, had pickles on his sandwich and ice in the the cup of full on sweet tea. We didn't get our credit card back after they closed the window. So we continued to wait until someone came back opened the window then clicked that we were waiting on our credit card to be returned. Other times at this location when they have me wait for the chicken tenders, they normally throw in a few for free, which is nice. This is why we still support this location instead of always going to greenbrier or stoneridge. It's very coinvent to get to the herndon location being off 28. It does seem that they have high turnover with employees which could aid to the mystery service each time. read more

Have to admit the new blackened chicken sandwich is delicious. Rarely do I eat Popeyes, due to some diet and fitness OCD tendencies. Yet their fried chicken is far better than KFC's. Whether you go with the regular or spicy it'll be tasty. The sandwiches are quite solid, although the nuggets are a disappointment. At least the sides make up for this. The best one is the mashed potatoes. These are delicious. This can be a busy location, but I'd like to thank the staff. They do a good job moving lines. Since many customers do take out, you for the most part will find a table. These are comfortable enough. It's a fast food , but occasionally one must indulge. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order, they forget something. I normally check the order carefully before I leave but today I forgot. The workers are never apologetic and they act annoyed when we ask for the item that they forgot. Then, they talk about me in Spanish negatively because they don't realize that I understand Spanish. In addition, today, I spent $60 on food and the woman was annoyed that I asked for Mardi Gras sauce. She spoke rudely about me in Spanish and only gave me two. I recently ordered a take out chicken sandwich and this is what I got (see attached picture). It was absolutely disgusting. I emailed the site with my comments and picture for a refund for this inedible product and was told (exact quote from their email) "we are unable to provide you with a refund for the order since it was placed through the restaurant's payment system", WHAT?! (contrary to Popeye's refund policy). I paid with a credit card at the drive thru and they can't give me a refund? They finally offered me a $5.00 "digital coupon", ONLY if I created an online account and gave them all of my personal contact information which I chose not to do, also, the $5.00 did not even cover the cost of this disgusting crap sandwich. Once they stopped responding, I emailed the corporate office at popeyescommunications@popeyes.com, along with pictures and copies of emails and they ignored me. I waited 5 days, emailed them again to give them a chance to make this right and they, again, ignored me and sent no email, no phone call, just a big F' You. I will NEVER buy from Popeye's again, clearly they don't give a rats rear end about their customers. Their food Can be good, but if you get something like I did, totally disgusting crap, they don't care and they will NOT even try to make it right. Avoid Popeye's, they just don't care about their customers. This five star review is for the manager (and managers across America) that have to deal with green employees and difficult customers. During a visit a couple of weeks ago I was in line while a very difficult customer at the counter was going over their online order. The customer kept arguing with the manager as to what was in the order. The manager was very patient as the line built up behind me. The customers in line were getting extremely annoyed at the customer being serviced. In fact after the customer said, "lets start over" the customer right in front of me said, "that is all I needed to hear" and quickly left and he had only one person in front of him! After the difficult customer at the counter finally left, the next customer had his own decision making crisis over what to order and was very very slow with what seemed to be his "Sophie's Choice" concerning the sides to include with his platter. He took a long time. To make the situation worse, the kid at the register was very inexperienced (it may have even been his first day of work). The line kept building with the customers in back of me showing their impatience in a multitude of ways. Through all this the manager kept his cool with both the customers and his employees. He just kept "working the problem" For that I give him kudos and I hope that customers in line can feel for people who have to deal with both meathead customers and staff that are either very new or selected for employment because the can walk through a door during this time where workers in this area are in short supply. read more

This popeyes has a drive-thru, but usually drive-thru's are supposed to be quick and not take 25 minutes from order to picking up the order. Plus, you guys don't check to make sure the order is correct. My almost $10 popcorn shrimp combo was missing the biscuit and a spork. Eating mashed potatoes without a spork is downright difficult and I was taking this somewhere other than home. What a freaking waste! Waiting in a more than 20 minute line to get my food and then it was wrong. What recourse do I have since I was getting it through drive-thru!?! Do you jobs and check the order before you give it off to the customer. Make sure it is right, otherwise you are likely to get slammed by the customer for just sake. I came here yesterday ordered a family meal. The cashier was very nice, the restaurant was very clean as well. I ordered the 20 piece white meat with mash potatoes/ gravy, red beans and rice and also fries. About 2 hours later I was in the bathroom. My son them my daughter etc it's 6 of us and every last one of us were in the bathroom knots in our stomach ... went to the er this morning we all got a stomach virus from this location... I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone not sure if employees aren't washing there hands or if they are even wearing gloves.. my pastor told us his family got sick as well after I called in for prayer. read more

We were so excited when this location finally opened up, but it has been a HUGE disappointment since day one. Hands down the SLOWEST drive thru EVER. Be prepared to put your car in park and literally sit & wait in the "drive thru." Also they seem to always be out of one or more of the signature sides, or dessert, and even when they ask you what kind of dipping sauces you want, they NEVER give them to you. You have to check your bag and then ask again. Several times their credit card machine has been down but they post no signage about the issue -it's only when you finally get up to the ordering intercom (after you've already been sitting parked in the drive thru for 10+ min) that they tell you oh btw we can only accept cash right now. And don't even get me started about mobile orders - take my word for it - just don't even bother with mobile ordering. Not sure if they are chronically understaffed, woefully inefficient or what. it's such a shame b/c we like Popeyes and we really wanted to like this location b/c it's so convenient. read more

I just must weigh in on this one, there appears to be some bad history here, but I think it has long been cleaned up. Clean, staff is friendly, and food is made frequently in small batches. I see them really hustling to get orders out and respect people's short lunch breaks, and mis-orders are addressed politely from my observations. I do think they work really hard at earning people's business. Chicken is crisp , not greasy. They do quite the business, and the line is to the door ant 12 noon, while there are a ton of places to eat around. Compared to most fast food, this location stands tall to others in the area. I just can not give 5 stars to fast food, no matter how good a value it is however. read more

This Popeyes has HANDS DOWN the nicest staff I have ever encountered (and I've been to way too many locations haha), they were all working together really well, and the manager was very present and sweetly helping what seemed to be the new staff. I was only given two sauce, but when I asked for an extra they gave it to me with no issue. It had a slight 'family owned' feel overall. Chicken and biscuit were hot and wonderful as always, and the coleslaw was great. Highly recommend, no complaints here!!!! read more

Sometimes you might receive white meat when you order dark meat. I've had beans and rice with just bean just at the bottom and a few beans and a lot of rice. I have opened my box and found the chicken leg meat missing and a lot of crust. Today I had to ask for a receipt and "Gloria" had an attitude.
