Today we traveled to see family in Ocala. We decided to stop here and grab some food. The person on the speaker sounded tired. I placed my order one meal at a time and waited for confirmation to proceed. We got our food at a reasonable time. It was 4 meals and two extra sides. We got to our destination and proceeded to prep our plates. They gave use one wrong meal. Ordered spicy sandwich and we got a classic with a cup of mayonnaise on it. The other spicy sandwich got a cup of sauce on it as well. 5 piece tender meal. Turned out to be a 3 piece nugget and 2 tenders. Got a 3 piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese with dr.pepper on 9/19/25 & as I ate the food I told myself it tasted a little off, I couldn't even finish the meal. (ate 1 piece of chicken and half of mashed potatoes) and was sick with a headache and stomach bug all the way until 9/22/25 .. it could have or haven't been the food but from what I have experienced in the past those were symptoms of food poisoning. I have lived in this area for 6 months. Where we moved from we used to frequent Popeyes. This Popeyes we have been to 3 times. Never again will we eat here. The staff is rude, they seem to all have problem with customer service and their food is on a lower part of a 1 star meal. I went inside for the first time today and was completely grossed out after seeing how they prepared food. So much cross contamination going on it's ridiculous! The Manager was just as bad! Plus not one person had a hairnet on or gloves while touching food. I wouldn't give their food to a beggar on the street. This was the most hilarious and fun fast food stop I've had in years. As I walked in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I found a platinum Citibank card right outside the door on the ground. My lucky day! First class plane tickets? A new car? Free Popeyes for everyone in line? The possibilities were endless! I went up to the counter and said, "Hello, someone lost their credit card outside and I'm here to return it!" Everyone was excited! An employee immediately exclaimed, "How do you use someone else's credit card?" Another helpful person piped up "just swipe it!" We all laughed and an employee took the card for safe keeping... Then I met a wonderful well-dressed lady in line who had just come from church. She said "You are a good person for returning that card.." but I simply said "I want to go to the right side when St Peter asks me which way to go at the end!" She explained to me that she had just come from church and various people there were explaining what had happened to them regarding money. One lady had shared "I lost some money but later I found some money so I kept it!" The minister had apparently expressed that if you find money and turned it in, you will be rewarded 3X! The wonderful lady in line who was speaking to me said, "Maybe that lady who found some money shouldn't have talked about it! She found money and told the minister she kept it!" No shade to Popeyes (which I love) but the lady working the cash register was probably the worst form of customer service that I have ever experienced. Receipt was given with food. When we got drinks, every single selection was out of syrup. We informed the girl behind the counter and got a rude response "well then I guess they're out". Refused to help fix the issue. Our food finally arrived and we left the store and immediately got back onto road. On the highway we discovered the wrong meals had been ordered. She had selected leg/thigh/wing classic instead of the tenders we asked for. And that she had confirmed verbally. In addition to being the wrong food, all of our chicken was greasy/soggy. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before stopping here. I give 1 star because I have to and the customer service was decent. TJ took our order and she was polite and helpful. The 4 other missing stars are because the food is terrible and the restaurant is dirty. They did not have any chicken breasts for the chicken sandwiches or any chicken nuggets. We got the chicken tenders which were stale and chewy. Again, I prob should have known better because all their food was sitting under lights, even the fries. Fries were cold and stale. Bathroom needs to be cleaned. All the tables in the lobby were filthy while the employees talked and joked in the kitchen. The owner is losing money on this location, I guarantee. I waited in line for 30 minutes and when I got to the drive through window I had to repeat my order 5 times and even give them my phone since I ordered through the app and got a confirmation that my food is ready. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes the lady employee at the drive through window was so confused and could not find anyone's order. She did not know how to operate the POS and kept calling for help. When i finally got my order and went home I was so disappointed. All the chicken was dry and I could not eat it. I almost choked on the chicken being so dry. The biscuit was cook good on the edges but in the middle was doughy and chewy. It's sad to see what this place has become. I pass this restaurant daily and it keeps going under everytime I go there. I think this will be my last chance with this place. My experience was horrible and all because of one person. The GM Kacci she treated me horrible my cousin and I walked in to get a slushy and she had come in after us. She stopped at the register and looked at us and stood behind the register for minute like she was going to help us. Then walked to the back as we were placing our order. The employee also did not have her work shirt on right she had it unbuttoned in an a way that was very exposing to her chest making me and others uncomfortable. So we walked away after not getting Service for about 10 minutes when she was looking at us the whole time. We hated our experience and felt uncomfortable and don't want a run in with her again definitely going to a new establishment if shes there. In a separate incident she had taken an employee into the main lobby and proceeded to fire him in front of all the customers in the area. I'm still in disgust of what happened to me here... I was in the mood for their classic chicken sandwich, so I came here and ordered the combo. I ordered drive-through and right before the cashier gave me my order, he looked in the bag for a while and seemed to be confused or in doubt about something, but gave me the bag anyway. I trusted that it was the correct order (my biggest mistake ever), then drove home expecting to enjoy a fresh chicken sandwich. When I got home to eat, I grabbed a couple of fries and was disappointed because they were cold, it felt like they were just sitting there for hours instead of waiting for just 5 minutes in my car. That was whatever, so then I took my chicken sandwich out of the bag and it looked so small in the wrapper, I was getting confused and suspicious. Then I was in pure disgust as I unwrapped the whole sandwich... THE CHICKEN SANDWICH WAS HALF EATEN. THIS POPEYES SERVED ME A HALF EATEN CHICKEN SANDWICH. I CAN'T MAKE THIS UP, I COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS IS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY GAVE TO ME AS A CUSTOMER. So then I immediately drove back to the restaurant and went inside asking to speak to their manager to tell them what happened. The female cashier that was there at the time (different person from who served me at drive-through) was just as shocked and disgusted as I was, and the manager was in disbelief and gave me a full refund. I just told them that I wanted my money back and they told me that they would make me my correct order still, but I was not in the mood to eat their chicken sandwich or ANY of the food served there. I told them that I'm not eating food from them again and I 100% do not trust this place. This was my first and last time coming to this location.
