Customer service is lacking. When customers use the drive-through, staff should not just stick their hand out for your card without even saying hello and repeat, your order back to you at the very least. After my card was handed back to me, I had to ask for a receipt. The most conversation I had was to be told to move to the front of the building in order to receive my order. FPO and I walked into Popeye's two and a half hours until they close ... and they're out of popcorn shrimp? How does a restaurant run out of one of their signature items? The restaurant was doing brisk enough business through the drive through and even in the dining room for them to drop another batch. The last three times I've tried to go to this location: -They had nothing, and weren't willing to make more. I got there around 8p, which isn't that late and they were out of everything "for the night". I tried ordering multiple different items before giving up and asking what they had left. They had a few pieces of bone in original. I left without anything. -The drive through and lobby were closed well before the hours posted on their website and signage. No explanation. -I was in the neighborhood today and decided some spicy chicken strips sounded good. The drive through line was incredibly long, but I was planning on dining in anyway. Park and go up to the doors. Locked. No explanation, and sign posted said the lobby should have been open. It was noon on a Saturday. I'd recommend going elsewhere. This was my second day in a row going to popeye, but decided to check out this location after going to the other Olathe location yesterday. I went through the drive-thru because they were not allowing customers to go inside. The drive-thru took about 25 minutes. When I finally got to place my order, the staff worker clearly did not know their own menu because they didn't know the sampler item existed. The chicken was not fresh and was hard as you got into it. I assume it had been sitting in a heat lamp too long. The chicken sandwich was still good. Just a heads up they also have an additional charge for ordering more sauces. I would check out the other Olathe location before coming to this one. read more

We aren't big fried chicken people but Hubs was dying to try out the new spicy chicken sandwich. The place was clean, the service was fast enough for a fast food restaurant. I downloaded the app and got to use a $4 combo deal with 3 tenders a side and biscuit. Ordered the regular tenders with fries. They were hot and crispy but not greasy -- which I was very grateful for and why I always avoid places like this. But I'd definitely order it again. Hubs didn't understand what all the hype was about with the sandwich and said it was good and hot but wouldnt be back to get it again. They are a little skimpy on ketchup and dipping sauces which we were annoyed with. One packed of ketchup given to you for a whole basket of fries. And dipping sauces were a quarter each. read more

I normally don't give low ratings when the food is good but this location is unorganized. Last week I waited in the drive thru for nearly 30 minutes and there were maybe 15 cars ahead of me. Tried to go into the lobby but they locked the doors. Got back in the drive thru and during that time saw people (assuming they were staff) come out to the parking lot to let others into the locked dining room and horsing around and being very loud. Did not seem professional to me. Fast forward to this morning, got to the drive thru and saw multiple signs saying "Open til 11:30". It was confusing to me and some other drivers as we all waited at the speaker for someone to take our order and just ended up leaving the property to go somewhere else. As I was in the drive thru a staff member waived me forward, as I pulled forward this happened: Staff: We are not open until 11:30, we don't have any chicken. Me: Gotcha, but your sign says "Open til 11:30"? Staff: Right, we aren't open until 11:30. Me: Yeah, that's not what that means. I had never been to a Popeyes until my grandkids suggested it. They love chicken. Wings or strips or nuggets and sandwiches. Took them to Popeyes and the chicken was fresh and delicious. Now it's a favorite meal at least every other week. Great food and value for the money. read more

I am now beginning to understand this locations poor reviews. It was around 5 pm Sunday evening I had the popcorn shrimp. Some of it was ok and some of it reminded me of what the brine shrimp for pet fish must be like. The portions of the shrimp and beans and rice were skimpy . The Diet Coke was empty. I did not complain because they were slow and they should have been gearing up for dinner. There was what seemed to be a fairly new employee at the register which is fine. I should have known. I'd been craving Popeyes for a week, decided to go and grab some after church on Sunday. And as suspected the service was absolute TRASH AND THE MANAGER was just as bad. I pull up ask if they have any specials. The girl asks " what do you mean?" First strike. I get home only to see that the $30 I just spent on food only got me half of my food. Strike 2! Went to Popeyes in Olathe yesterday. The drive through was backed up and super slow, but I was trapped in the line so ordered anyway. It took 15 minutes to get through the line and after I paid, she asked me to pull into the parking lot and they would bring my food out. That didn't happen. I called after 25 minutes and whoever answered the phone said that they "would try to bring out my food, but "we're pretty backed up." WHAT?! I had to go into the store to get my food...35 minutes after I ordered. "I don't care" Tried to place an order tonight... We called ahead to make sure they were open, we were told that the drive thru was going real slow ( 30-45 minutes ), if we placed an order, make sure we do a in lobby pick up if we didn't want cold food. Get to the store, and the lobby was closed. The employee that was coming out was letting a door dash driver out and I was told that I had to wait in line that I was specifically told to avoid. I tried to explain that we were just picking up an order we had already placed and paid for. His response, we don't have any staff, the lobby is closed, use the drive thru, "I don't care". "I don't care" As he was walking away, he turned to me and responded "you can be mad if you want, " I don't care" My wife is from NOLA and raves about your food, but you know what, "I don't care"... I will never go to that location ever again, maybe never any of your locations ever again. I was fortune enough to have the day off from work and was going to surprise my daughter with lunch; she loves Popeyes chicken tenders and bbq sauce. Ordered a delivery, missing item. Sides were half full ate in 4 bites so very expensive for what the price is. Also there was no security what so ever. Most restaurants have things of making food / drinks safe for delivery but there was nothing, anything could have been put into it or taken out.
