I come to this whataburger often. Never had problems besides a few sauces missing here and there and the team seems decent for me coming during late hours. I went through the drive through used my free coupon for a burger, my burger after taking a few good bites, had a plastic bread tie inside of it. I bit right into it, pulled it out. I was disgusted. I tryed to talk to the customer chat and they basically told me they couldn't do anything unless I go back to the store or call. It's a concern that needs to be checked on, mistakes with objects in food is a big no no. read more

My dine-in, off-peak, early lunch at this new location was okay, with a reasonable wait time, a mostly correct order and a pretty tasty chicken sandwich. The #11 medium grilled chicken combo ($9.79) was served ten minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service was accommodating and efficient. Everything was pretty tasty, and the "medium" fries and drink were rather large. My customized sandwich was correct, but the meal was packaged to go instead of dine-in, as ordered, and as shown on the order summary. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with a focus on cleanliness but without background music. They also offered two 24/7 drive-thru lanes outside - one of which was blocked off by cones. So if you go into the lobby, you won't even be acknowledged even if you wait over 15 minutes. When you try the drive-through you sit there for another 15 minutes. I know it's a step up from McDonald's, but it amazes me how bad people are at fast food. I mean, is it really that hard for people to just say I'll be with you in a minute? Our last visit to a Whataburger was nearly two and half years ago when the 135th and Antioch location in OP launched. With an abundance of locations in the city, it is safe to say the hype has died down. Here is our experience at this location in Olathe: Location: 9/10 135th and Blackbob has become a busy hub of food places, so you have a decent choice of food options. I have mentioned in previous reviews that Olathe is an exurb in some aspects, but the city is quickly getting on par with neighboring cities Overland Park and Lenexa as far as amenities are concerned. Customer Service: 6/10 One thing that Whataburger is consistent on is the mediocre customer service experience. If you are expecting stellar service, lower the bar quite a bit. You definitely are not going to feel warm, fuzzy, and appreciated like you would at a Chik-Fil-A. You will be lucky enough for an employee to muster half a smile during your interaction with them. Food: 8/10 After ordering our food, we did not wait very long, which was nice. I ordered a chicken sandwich while my husband ordered a double cheeseburger. Our meals came with fries and we both opted for shakes - Dr. Pepper and a vanilla shake. For the two of us, it was $26 bucks. The food was hot and fresh with good flavor. My sandwich was sloppily thrown together with sauce spilling over inside the wrapper. The DP shake was mid, and my husband enjoyed his vanilla shake. Hard to mess up one of those in my opinion, though. Bonus points for them getting the order correct, compared to last time. Overall: 7.5/10 It was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I agree with other Yelpers that Whataburger is consistently inconsistent. Given the current state of the economy, fast food isn't considered affordable anymore and is definitely considered a luxury for some. I do feel $26 is expensive for what Whataburger is. I'll say this, Whataburger is consistently inconsistent. This is a Mahome's branded franchise, unlike the corporate junk Whataburger down the street. The 159th street Mahomes franchise out off 69 highway is pretty good at what they do - most of the time - so I figured we'd give this new location a little closer to home a try. It looked clean enough, but there were a lot of staff just mulling around, young folks with not much to do, and in a kitchen that's a bad sign. There is ALWAYS something to be doing - ALWAYS. I worked in kitchens before, trust me, standing around is purely a lack of imagination or a perfectionist mindset. Hell, have them clean the light bulbs. Anyway, these guys made a functional meal, however they shorted me on the fries by I'd say, half, and the White Chocolate Raspberry shake was definitely - if I had to bet on it - vanilla. Weak. Building a meal in a place like this is like Legos, so you just plug the red block into the mustard block, and viola! Pretty easy stuff; trying at times, to be sure, no joke, but simple. But when in doubt, just give them too much and they'll be happy. But my burger was dry, falling apart, and with the other things, I'd say this was squarely NOT a 3rd Down conversion. We had to punt, and that's okay. But for $18 simoleons! Give me a break here, Hoss! I'm kicking it through the uprights all day fer' ya'; Kick it back in kind. I don't know. Like I said: consistently inconsistent. Maybe it's the new paint jitters, or staff just doesn't have the gumption yet. But when it's poppin' it works. Not sure what the hype is but unfortunately I was not impressed. This being our first time here we didn't know what to expect. So my son and I arrived around 9pm on a Thursday night craving some burgers. We had to wait about 10-12mins before someone came up to help us which worked out I guess because it gave us time to finalize our order. I ordered a basic single patty Whataburger and my son got plain double patty melt with no onions. Our order came out and my son's melt had onions on it so he had go back up to the counter. Waited 8-10mins before someone came up to help and then wait another 6-7mins before a new one came out with unmelted cheese. Not a huge deal and was still pretty good. My burger was ok nothing special. My only complaint is the amount of mustard that was on it. The entire top bun was soaked with mustard and I'm just not a huge fan of mustard. I don't hate it I just don't prefer it. To be honest the burger itself reminded me of a whopper but unfortunately not quite as good.‍ read more

Whataburger? Yep, what a dried out piece of beef burger! Lunch at 1:00, went through the drive-thru, it was not crowded. Order a Double with cheese and a Jr. Double with cheese. The hamburgers were terrible. Way too thin, overcooked, & dry. We had to cut the edges off. My lettuce was a 1" cube of the core. I'm giving it 2 stars because the fries were ok. Used the website to order and it had many problems, constantly sending me back to the beginning. So disappointing as Whataburger has flooded the Kansas City area and it looks like all of them are getting bad reviews. Reached out to corporate received no response. I'd be interested to find out why they can't make the same hamburgers in KC as they can in Texas. Don't waste your money. Go to Freddy's Steakburger instead, it's next door at this location. read more

I can say this was one of the best experiences and service's I have had experienced in a while through, fast food when I went to the window, I was welcomed by a young man named Tajohn, he was extremely friendly and ambiance about his job. I would like to start by saying, this has to be by far my favorite burger chain. Coming from Houston, whataburger was a staple during my youth. I still remember the whataburger on 69 and bissonnet. So, it's fair to say that when I heard of the chain coming to Kansas, I was beyond ecstatic. Unfortunately, my experience here in Kansas has fallen short of my expectations. Don't get me wrong, these have to be some of the best maintained branches I've seen. That is definitely a positive, but the food has not matched that quality to me. The patty melt to me is two Texas buns well buttered, two seasoned beef patties; the gooey sticky cheese; and that wonderful onion sauce; accompanied by some fresh crispy fries. That's what I expected when I made my order unfortunately the burger fell short. Yes! It was still the classic bun and fresh beef but unfortunately it was extremely over salted and the best part, the onion sauce was almost nonexistent. Fortunately, the fries were well made, but in my opinion you can't mess up a staple like the patty melt and get away with it. Maybe it was just this experience, a fluke! I don't like the service fee. Driver gets a tip. You prepare the meal whether I'm there picking it up or you deliver it. Do you charge me a service fee when I pick it up? It's just another added charge. Don't you think $10 for a flipping cheeseburger is enough? Prices are too high everywhere but you all need that $1.50? Went to Whataburger the burgers were over cooked the waitress did not explain to us as it was our first time did you get other toppings on such burgers. She acted if it was a strain to take our order. As for onions on my burger the wife requested no onions she got onions I only got very few. Called whataburgers customer service phone line they took down all my information said the manager would return my call. After 2 weeks hearing nothing, I called back and was a short someone would be touched with me within two days finally spend another two weeks and still nothing. It shows me that whataburgers is a In-N-Out forget you place. Take their s***** food and enjoy it cuz they don't want to hear about it. You be better off taking a frozen patty and putting it on the block of your engine at least then you could cook it the way you want read more
