One thing for sure is you don't want to come here if you are in a hurry; I've never had timely service here. Today my kid has a craving for chicken sandwiches; so I got to use the mobile app; seems like every other time I try to use the mobile app it makes me installs an updated version first (annoying- gotta wait for the download and install) There is a deal on the app that says if you spend $10 you get a free chicken sandwich, cool, so I ordered 3. Total comes to $9.99 so the deal would not kick in; ordered an extra sauce packet and got the deal LOL I get inside and the person behind the counter said she found my order but it wouldn't print- she doesn't like to go to the kitchen and verbally give the order (so they spent about 10 minutes trying to fix the printer, unsuccessfully) , and I found out why- one interruption on the way to that kitchen and she has to turn around and ask again; I had to repeat it three times- she finally made it to the kitchen on the third try; but her son in doing well in school, that is good (that was one of the questions from another employee when she was on her way that turned her around). When I worked fast food I had a pen and paper but thats just me. 15-20 minutes total; would have been much quicker if I just drove/walked up and ordered. We brought a Shrimp Tackle box and a Surf and Turf, the biscuits were hard and the shrimp were hard so the Shrimp Tackle Box was thrown away and we kept the Surf and Turf to let the store know that the food was hard. Called the store spoke with I presume was the manager so rude says oh well i can give you 1 meal for free you choose because one was already eaten lol, which was thrown away, but I'm telling him like sir we don't want food I want my money the other meal is still in the box, he says okay well you don't get any food you just bring the food back and the receipt. I stopped in to pick up my order number 16. The manager Nick was so on point. It is so good to see great service. The food was totally awesome. I couldn't help but give a review. The ambience in the place was totally nice. He was so interactive with the customers it is so refreshing to see great management in place hopefully I think he is management and if he's not somebody, please do something about that. I came here to try out their raved about spicy chicken sandwich. Aside from the fact that they forgot the pickles on my sandwich (luckily I had some at home), it was delicious considering the cheap price and fast food stigma. However, I waited about 40 min for my order to be completed, so I wouldn't call this place efficient. The line inside and outside were both so long, so I guess they handled it considerably well. I don't think their chicken is frozen as it tasted quite fresh and was taking them awhile to prepare. read more

I don't ever come here, but came to try the chicken sandwich that everyone is talking about. As a Chik-fil-A supporter, I was not expecting this to compare... surprisingly, it was better. The breading on the chicken is so crispy, flavorful, and the chicken itself is a huge piece that is cooked to perfection. What is in the seasoning?! I have no idea but it was delish. The workers at this location are ALWAYS lazy when it comes to doing orders the way they are meant to be prepared. i've been to a couple of Popeyes...the one on Erie Boulevard and the one in north Syracuse and the workers at both just do not want to complete the order the way it is advertised on TV. For instance the voodoo chicken is never done all the way it supposed to be. they will drizzle a little sauce on yet leave everything else off. Food was fine. Typical Popeye's. It's a pretty new store, only a few months old so it wasn't beat up or anything. Has the kind of soda machine I really like (see my pics). Problem here is the customer service. I placed my order (spicy chicken combo). I get my drink cup, fill up my drink, stand and wait for my chicken combo. Girl comes up and yells out my number, so I answer (she has no food). She says it will be 12 minutes on spicy chicken...I can either wait 12 minutes, at a supposed fast food restaurant, or I can take regular. The whole reason I went there was because they do spicy chicken...wtf? No apologies, nothing. So I take the regular chicken and ask the girl if they are going to give me a free biscuit or something for the trouble. She smartly says, "Nope. It doesn't work that way." I say, ok, no problem, you guys suck and I won't be back. She says nothing. She could care less that they just lost a customer and I'm sure she could care less that I'm writing this. I would have asked to see a manager, but I just wasn't in the mood after what had already happened. They have a 1-800 customer experience number on every table. I took a pic and will be calling. This is my first time visiting a Popeye's: a co-worker had some recently, and it looked like it was worth a try. The woman who took the order at the drive-thru was pleasant and efficient; my food was ready immediately, and the order was accurate. From what I could see, the store looked clean. So far, I will give them full marks. Even after I got my food back to work and started in, it was very hot, almost too hot to handle. This is a good sign, and suggests that they're handling the food safely, and not letting it sit around. Again, full marks. My three-piece meal contained a large breast, a drumstick, and a thigh. The breast was surprisingly juicy, with a generous amount of meat and a very crispy batter that brought a bit of heat, even though I ordered mild. (It makes me wonder how much hotter their spicy version is!) The drumstick and thigh were not nearly as meaty, and were noticeably greasier... but that might just be normal for darker meat. Overall, I would have to rate this well above KFC, but not as good as home-made. The mashed potatoes could be described as ordinary institutional fast-serve, pretty much the same as what you find at KFC, a much smoother texture than from-scratch that is somewhat artificial. The brown gravy was rather spicy, and had a vaguely chemical taste that I couldn't identify. It wasn't very appealing, and I didn't finish it. Most of the entrees come with a biscuit; mine was fairly bland but salty, and a bit on the tough side -- as if the dough had been overworked or if it had been sitting around for a while. Not bad, but not especially good either. I suppose honey would have improved it, but none was supplied. Perhaps you have to know to ask for it. All in all, I won't say this was a bad experience. If the rest of the meal had been as good as the chicken breast, they would have knocked it out of the park. Perhaps it's a matter of taste... if you have liked Popeye's at other locations, I expect that you would not be disappointed here. This operation seems to be well run, and the food seems to be prepared properly according to their standards and procedures. It's objectively better than the KFC down the street... the only problem is, I still like how KFC tastes better. Oh, well. read more

Stopped here on our way home from Costco messed up my order forgot a sandwich had to go inside picked up my sandwich they acted like it was my fault. I was concerned that the mask order had gone into effect for Covid-19 and they did not seem to be following any special precautions. I have gotten food to go from other places and they seemed to be following the precautions. I just went with my wife to try the new classic chicken sandwich after hearing it was better than chick-fil-a. Now obviously know how amazing chick-fil-a is I was understandably sceptical. So I order this sandwich at Popeyes and on the first bite I was hooked. This was a magical sandwich that was close to bringing me to tears. I went here to get a quick dinner for my wife and I went through the drive-thru. Gave cashier the money, had my wallet next to me in my change reservoir on my side of the car. I placed the bag on the other side and left. When I looked next to me my wallet was gone. I had the window open the whole time, so I know she took it. I was told that they don't need to wear masks only when they are outside. Would have posted this yesterday, but unfortunately, at the time the Yelp website was down, so I'm writing now. I bought two chicken sandwiches at this location yesterday and when I got home, I was extremely disappointed to discover that both sandwiches had very little chicken, but instead the chicken sandwiches were filled with a fried crispy batter filling to make up for the lack of actual chicken. I estimate the sandwiches to be about 50% chicken and 50% fried batter filling. I did not return them back to the store because my home is about 20 minutes away and did not feel like getting dressEd again, getting in my car, driving back to the restaurant and asking for a refund. I hate to think this is now representative of all Popeyes franchises, but since there is also another Popeyes location in Syracuse, New York, I am going to buy a chicken sandwich from this second location, and hope for the best. In the meantime, I warn customers to stay away from this Popeyes, because they are scamming people! read more
