    Crunchy Ube French Toast
    Nancy G.

This place was amazing! Came here with my fiancé when they opened during a weekday and it was not busy. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. You order at the register and they give you a number and you can sit wherever. He got the crispy toffee banana French toast with a side of eggs. I ordered the crispy ube French toast with a side of potatoes and an iced mango tea. (on the menu it said early bird special would get the drink for $+1, but the cashier told us that our order didn't count as an entree so he charged us the full price of the iced tea which was a little weird since I'm not sure what they consider an entree then) Both the French toast were so good! Not overly sweet and had a very crunchy outside. The iced tea was also not too sweet and was refreshing. Potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and had some good seasoning. Overall would definitely come again.

Hit the brunch hour and it was popping!! Luckily was able to find available seats for two. Staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to refill water! Ordered my fave (the Kimchi Butter Chicken Eggs Benedict) and it was delicious, as always. The side potatoes were also lovely and crispy, just to my liking. Portions here feel like they're bigger than the other locations I've been to. One of my favorite brunch places!

I came here for brunch on a Saturday at 10 am. I feel like it was the perfect time as there was no line and lots of open tables. It's more of a fast casual where you order at the front and then they bring you your food, however, there were also servers walking around offering to refill waters and clear plates which was nice. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken Benedict and it was so good! I'm a wimp when it comes to spice but they give different options of spice level and I chose mild which was perfect. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. It was a really flavorful combination. It came with a side salad and a ton of potatoes which I took home. I really wished they had half options of the sweet stuff though because I would've also ordered some French toast or crepe! Overall a really nice place for breakfast or brunch, just come early... it was packed when we left around 11:30

I understand why many locals love this place for breakfast/brunch! This is a place that you can go to for a casual breakfast or a full on indulgent breakfast. We loved the indoor and outdoor seating, you can look at the menu as you select a table and then go inside to order. They do provide table side service after you order at the counter, this includes water to checking in. The food was phenomenal. My family loved each and every dish. The stars were definetly the Ube French Toast, Nutella Banana Pancakes & the Kimchi Spam Omelet. I love the Asian fusion mixed into their dishes. Their pancakes are actually mochi texture and I fell in love! They're soft, chewy but not too sweet! The Ube French toast was crazy, it was sweet yet delectable. We all fell in LOVE with the Kimchi Spam Omelet. The cheese mixed with egg and adding in the kimchi, spam and gochujang worked so well together. Can't wait to return!

Love this place! Wish we had one in the Bay Area! We visited from out of town and chose to eat here twice. Ambiance is bright and light- lots of natural lighting from the many windows and the table tops have a white marble look to them. The first thing you do is grab a menu and have a seat, then you get up to order at the counter when you're ready. They seem to use rice flour for their pancakes, waffle, and fried chicken, which makes for a fun, different, and enjoyable texture. The lattes were nicely made - not too sweet, with a good balance of espresso and whole milk. The only thing I would change is to ask for scrambled eggs on the croissant sandwich. It was difficult and messy to eat with a sunny-side up egg. Can't wait until our next visit! Please, someone open one up in San Jose, CA!

Came here with my friend a little before the brunch rush. She got the Norwegian Benedict and I got the avocado ham croissant. For coffee she got a vanilla latte and I got an ube latte. Food was good! Coffee could be a little better. It was more milk than coffee. Other than that it was good.

classic breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, side salad + toast = $18.20

Popping Yolk Cafe is a cute and fun place for brunch. The menu is very globally expansive with pockets of kimchi. I was true to myself and just ordered the classic breakfast ($18.20). It comes with your of eggs (scrambled for me), bacon + sausage, side salad topped with cherry tomatoes, toast, and lots of country fried potatoes. The eggs are Asian scrambled eggs - the kind you might get at a hotel in Asia. They're folded over and super fluffy. I like that you get both proteins though the sausages are maple flavored. The side salad is actually a nice surprise. We also ordered a California omelette ($19.20) which is comes with cherry tomatoes, avocado, spinach, mushrooms with pesto and a side of toast. We also added some ham for added protein. It's interesting in flavor - I've never had a pesto omelette before.i guess with all the veggies and pesto flavoring, it's very California-y in that way. It's easy here - order at the counter and seat yourself. The patio is spacious with plenty of shade. Service is super friendly and attentive. Oh, and they also play good music here. Will be back.

I love all things ube and when I saw that Popping Yolk Café had quite a few ube items I couldn't wait to go!! PYC is located in a newer shopping center right next to In & Out. That in mind, parking becomes challenging during the lunch rush. The restaurant has inside and outside dining areas that are both good-sized and comfortable. You place your order at the counter and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. All the employees we interacted with today were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Now for the food. Truly ube heaven, but I was also eyeing their great list of Benedicts. I was here for the ube today so I kept my focus on that :) My foodie friend and I decided to go the breakfast route. I ordered the ube French toast with sides of eggs and sausage to balance out the sweetness. My friend chose the berry and Nutella crepes. My order came out first. There was as an oversight on my friend's order. The kitchen just kinda "forgot" to make her crepes. When the worker realized this, he was super apologetic and didn't make excuses, so even tho there was quite a gap in our orders being served he earned points for how he handled the situation. My ube French toast was beautiful . Coated in something crunchy and topped with coconut syrup, shredded coconut, and served with whipped cream and fresh blueberries, it was a sight to behold. As I cut into the first piece I realized it was also stuffed with a delightful ube paste. SO decadent and delicious! (I ended up taking half of it home for later). I'm glad I also ordered eggs and sausage to balance out all that decadence! On a side note, I'm not sure what kind of sausage they serve here, but it was delicious. My friend let me try some of her crepes and they were also amazing! They add corn flakes in the filling, which adds a nice texture to every bite. Definitely a solid brunch spot. I'm looking forward to trying their Benedicts soon!

When I tell you, this is my new favorite brunch spot, I am not kidding!! First off, my mom is a picky eater, so when she says she loves the food - high praise! The food and drinks reminded me of brunch places in Europe - so high quality, lovely presentation, and a great quantity. We sat outside and it was just such a nice vibe. We got to chat with the owner, who was going around waiting on tables, which is such a nice sight! So sweet and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back and 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a nice, family-owned breakfast place

This is an Asian style breakfast place the pancakes were under cooked they tasted like I was just eating batter. I ordered the classic breakfast I got scrambled eggs they tasted wired like jello the potato's tasted like fries the salad on the plate made all my food soggy. The only good thing on my plate was the beacon. The food was terrible the service was ok

Parking here can be pretty difficult. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, and you order first before dining in. I ordered the Classic Benedict, and it was really good. It came with seasoned potatoes they were super flavorful and well seasoned. The small side salad was also fresh and came with plenty of dressing. Overall, everything was delicious! Recommendation(s): - Classic Benedict Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Parking is hard - Restroom available - Order first and then dine in

When it was time to pay, the cashier again seemed to be in no rush to take our payment. I still left an 18% tip, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. I used to dine at the Yorba Linda location often, so I know what this brand is capable of. The exterior of this complex has been beautifully revamped, but unfortunately, the interior and, more importantly, the service need to be held to a much higher standard. Breakfast isn't complicated, but hospitality is about the details. Right now, I feel like some of the magic is missing. They have the name and the reputation, but maintaining that reputation especially during challenging times requires consistently high standards and genuine hospitality.

Regardless, this is a good brunch spot with lots of food options and even gluten friendly options.

At that point, we figured we'd go inside and see what was going on. Plot twist: we asked about the wait and were seated almost immediately. So I'm still not entirely sure what adventure that Yelp waitlist was taking us on. The guy at the front wasn't exactly serving warm welcomes either. When we asked about the wait, he barely looked up or acknowledged us. Not the greatest first impression, but thankfully things improved from there. Once we were seated, though, the experience definitely improved. Our waiter, Thaer, was very nice, polite, and attentive, and provided great service throughout our meal. I ordered the Spanish omelet, and my partner ordered the Simple Classic breakfast . The food was solid and we both enjoyed our meals. Overall, despite the confusing Yelp waitlist and somewhat unfriendly greeting at the front, we had a good experience. Good food and great service from Thaer!

It's kind of like a skillet, except you have full control of how much of each items goes into it. Normally I don't like a ton of gravy in this ritual, but something about the gravy and sausage at Paul's Country Kitchen made this Grand Finale especially delicious. I mean--the Char's Country Plate was good in itself. I've had something similar at the nearby Mr. D's with its two sausage patties on a biscuit covered in gravy along with eggs and hash browns. I think the version at Paul's was a bit better. Every bite was a delight. But I think the best bites were reserved when I got that bit a sausage and gravy into the mix with the hash browns and perfectly cooked eggs. Grand Finales are usually a joy, but this one was especially joyous. Also, noticeable was the great service here. I found the servers personable and discerning. They managed to give out good recommendations, answer any questions about the offerings, and still hold good conversation. That's rare at any food joint you go to. Not only that, they held down the fort when it came to refills, getting my order out quickly, and dropping the bill off when it came time. The personal touch here is impeccable. Lastly, the ambience is great here. The space is kind of limited, but they had plenty of booths and tables, 2-tops and 4-tops, and counter space. Everything was decorated brightly without seeming gaudy, and it gave off a welcoming feeling that is traditional with all local diners. I wouldn't mind eating in a place like this regularly. In conclusion, I think I found a new place to have breakfast. Not only that, I think I found a new place to recommend to others when I want to point out what makes a good diner/coffee shop.
