A group of friends and I have been meeting weekly for coffee or breakfast. Our goal is to visit small privately owned businesses and this week was Barista's Kitchen. We arrived just after opening and there was no line. I used the ordering kiosk while a few of us ordered at the register. The kiosk was easy to use, but some items were missing photos. I had the breakfast burrito and a mocha latte with the foam top. The burrito is decent size, the salsa is good, and it comes with a little side salad. My favorite part is everything in the burrito is chopped and well mixed, no bites of just potato. The mocha was delicious, and for that reason they really need an option for a larger size. We were looking around for a new spot to have brunch and Baristas kitchen popped up on our search, so we decided to give it a try. Parking can be a bit hectic because it is next to the Bristol Farms. Upon entering there is a few tables inside and it also has a nice patio seating area. You can order on the screen or over the counter, since it was our first time, we wanted to see if the staff would give any recommendations, we ordered over the counter . Staff was friendly but when we asked a few questions it was very hard to hear her when she was talking so we just ordered. We ended up ordering the chicken and waffles, Chicken Pesto Panini and a kids pancake plate. Visually the food looked fine, but once we took the first bites we came to the conclusion that all our food was severely under seasoned. The chicken that comes with the waffle are more like chicken tenders, crispy but flavorless. The arugula salad needed some love as it had 2-3 pieces of red onion and had little to no dressing. The waffle was good. The kids plate came with berries which was nice, but it came with the same bland chicken tender. The Chicken Panini had very little chicken. I did appreciate the fresh mozzarella but it needed seasoning. The Pesto was not very Pesto-ey if that makes sense. Our coffee drinks were fine, but for the price I think they could be more memorable. Overall 3 stars for a nice aesthetic and friendly people, but the food is lacking. I'm always on the lookout for new spot to grab a meal so when I saw Barista's Kitchen come up on my feed I knew I needed to pop in to try them out. Located in the Yorba Linda Town Center, BK has a great corner spot in the Center's plaza area. The entrance is just instant their outdoor/patio seating area. There's plenty of seating both outside and inside and the tables are nicely arranged without crowding. The inside was pretty streamlined and modern, yet still felt cozy and inviting. Right as I walked in I was hit with the delicious aroma of whatever was cooking. Definitely already off to a good start! Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when your food is ready. Both the girl and guy workers we interacted with were friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of coffees and teas, which is their primary beverage focus. There are so many yummy options on their menu! Today I went with the prosciutto panini and a side of portobello fries. The panini came with a side salad that has a nice lemon vinaigrette. The panini was SO good! The bread was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and all the fillings worked together beautifully. The prosciutto was yummy and I think next time I want to order this panini with extra meat. I was really looking forward to the portobello fries, but I was a little disappointed by them. While the mushrooms were nicely sliced and the portion was generous, I was expecting them to be crunchy, which they were not. I wonder if I could request that? The green dipping sauce it came with was nice, but I think ranch would be a better match for it. This is a super cute place to go with your pups. They have outdoor seating and the staff are super friendly with the puppers. They even have treats for them! Went to barista's kitchen for breakfast with my girlfriend and her meetup group. Plenty of seats. You order at the kiosk and take a number which you add to the order. Pay at the kiosk and grab a seat. The staff brings you your food and drinks when it's ready. I had a breakfast burrito and my girlfriend ordered the fried pork belly plate. She had a coffee drink and since I don't drink coffee I ordered a coke. Food came out quickly and everything was hot and fresh when it arrived at the table. Pro tip, if you write a review and show it to them you get a free coffee. My girlfriend did this and took an iced mocha to go after we finished eating. We also ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon and that was delicious. This was a walk up and order service. You can order at the register, or a station. Was recommended Barista's Kitchen by a friend and to be honest I'm confused about why the reviews are high. It might be because you can get a free coffee for a 5 star review. Overall walking in the place seemed really nice at first with open windows and lots of natural light. They have very limited high chairs which is hard for families. The food here is... meh. Some was mediocre and some just... bad? The chicken strips with my son's kid's meal tasted worse than the cheap ones from Costco. The brioche French toast proclaimed to have mango puree but when I asked about the non existent mango flavor, I just got the response that the mango is already in the bread. We upgraded for the dirty potatoes ($3 extra) for bland, flavorless potatoes that aren't "dirty" at all. The bulgogi burrito was mostly rice. Review 27/365 Day Challenge When i found out our local Korean fusion brunch spot rebranded to Barista's Kitchen with new management/owner. Along with they are also focusing more on coffee/latte brunch vibe restaurant. I had to pay a visit, was greeted nicely by the owner herself Christina Kwon. She was very polite, informative of the tweaked menu they offer now and noticed about half of the items from previous restaurant items was still on the menu. Same layout as before, but more visually relaxed and comfortable. I had the pork belly bowl with a side of two eggs. The green sauce pairs really well and the dish was super satisfying. Also, the portobello fries are a must-try!! Five adults shared and everyone loved them. The batter is amazing. With kids, the $12 kids menu works well. We added a two egg side and it was plenty.
