I'm always on the lookout for new spot to grab a meal so when I saw Barista's Kitchen come up on my feed I knew I needed to pop in to try them out. Located in the Yorba Linda Town Center, BK has a great corner spot in the Center's plaza area. The entrance is just instant their outdoor/patio seating area. There's plenty of seating both outside and inside and the tables are nicely arranged without crowding. The inside was pretty streamlined and modern, yet still felt cozy and inviting. Right as I walked in I was hit with the delicious aroma of whatever was cooking. Definitely already off to a good start! Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when your food is ready. Both the girl and guy workers we interacted with were friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of coffees and teas, which is their primary beverage focus. There are so many yummy options on their menu! Today I went with the prosciutto panini and a side of portobello fries. The panini came with a side salad that has a nice lemon vinaigrette. The panini was SO good! The bread was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and all the fillings worked together beautifully. The prosciutto was yummy and I think next time I want to order this panini with extra meat. I was really looking forward to the portobello fries, but I was a little disappointed by them. While the mushrooms were nicely sliced and the portion was generous, I was expecting them to be crunchy, which they were not. I wonder if I could request that? The green dipping sauce it came with was nice, but I think ranch would be a better match for it. Cute clean place with some indoor seats and more outdoor patio seating. Friendly staff, gave me good recommendations. I like how they have treats and water bowls for your furry friends. Yummy place for brunch especially after a hike. You can order at the kiosk or at the counter. You get a number and then they bring out your food. My Kimchi Bulgogi Panini was so delicious!! It was so yummy I wished I could have eaten the whole thing. It was very flavorful and the bread was perfectly toasted. The kimchi was actually sweet rather than spicy which made it a good surprise. This is a super cute place to go with your pups. They have outdoor seating and the staff are super friendly with the puppers. They even have treats for them! I got the lychee matcha, which was surprisingly delicious! My husband got the Spanish latte which was also tasty. We both share the chicken and waffles with a side of eggs. Went to barista's kitchen for breakfast with my girlfriend and her meetup group. Plenty of seats. You order at the kiosk and take a number which you add to the order. Pay at the kiosk and grab a seat. The staff brings you your food and drinks when it's ready. I had a breakfast burrito and my girlfriend ordered the fried pork belly plate. She had a coffee drink and since I don't drink coffee I ordered a coke. Food came out quickly and everything was hot and fresh when it arrived at the table. Pro tip, if you write a review and show it to them you get a free coffee. My girlfriend did this and took an iced mocha to go after we finished eating. I visited once when it was Olive Seed Cafe and had an overall subpar experience but when I saw that Barista's Kitchen took over, I bookmarked it ASAP and have been looking forward to a visit soon. The menu itself seemed really similar but I was excited to try something from their expanded drink menu. Here's what we ordered: **California Omelette: Overall, it was good and quite hefty in size too. (5/5) **Huevos Rancheros: The serving portion looks small but it was more filling that I had thought. I ordered my eggs over easy which was perfectly executed. I ordered my ribeye medium rare which was also perfect. It could've used a nice kick of spice but the overall flavor was good and the addition of chips were lovely. (4/5) **Espresso Tonic: The espresso was good and the tonic was good. A little sweeter than I'm used to in general but overall, a great drink. I would come back to drink it again. (4/5) Overall, it was a good dining experience and I would come back if I'm in the area next time. There is a kiosk available to order but you can also order at the register if you want to pay cash. Once you order, they give you a number so they know where to bring the food when it's ready. Ambience / Location / Decor: Let's just start by saying this location is phenomenal. Lots of parking available for customers. It's within a great plaza with a market, Peet's Coffee, and plenty other restaurant to walk around after eating here. The brick wall decor and paintings bring a vibrant vibe that is welcoming. It's flavorful but I think it was more on the sweeter side .. I would've maybe wanted to taste a little less sweet and more of the Gochujang maybe ??!! Also wished my egg was actually over easy and not over cooked.. would w been nice to have the yolk runny since it's kimchi fried rice. Also maybe could be a great touch to have the kimchi fried rice in a cast iron skillet as well some that may give a little crunch to some of the rice and texture wouldn't be too soft all around. Overall, it was pretty good. Huevos Ranchero: My husband ordered this. He said flavor was good .. had a little kick to it (spicy level mild and a half), could use more tortillas, steak was a little bit more over than the medium that was asked, red onions were pickled and delicious, avocado was a good blend, and great ratio from sauce to meat. It was also nice that it came on a cast iron skillet so came out nice and hot! Service: Staff at register / counter is great. Very friendly staff and helpful assisting my husband's needs for gluten free options. Table service is a plus and a great touch. We are just visiting from NorCal to Disneyland but decided to try this place out and was worth it .. especially for the inviting and welcoming staff, good food and options, and brightness of the ambience! I didn't realize that this used to be olive seed, but loved the new ownership and menu. We ordered a terimisu matcha and a strawberry matcha. From quick tasting the terimisu option was a favorite. We also ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon and that was delicious. This was a walk up and order service. You can order at the register, or a station. Once you order you get a number for your table and the food is brought out. The cashier was nice and helped us with selections. There's a small indoor seating area and an outdoor option. Was recommended Barista's Kitchen by a friend and to be honest I'm confused about why the reviews are high. It might be because you can get a free coffee for a 5 star review. Overall walking in the place seemed really nice at first with open windows and lots of natural light. They have very limited high chairs which is hard for families. The food here is... meh. Some was mediocre and some just... bad? The chicken strips with my son's kid's meal tasted worse than the cheap ones from Costco. The brioche French toast proclaimed to have mango puree but when I asked about the non existent mango flavor, I just got the response that the mango is already in the bread. We upgraded for the dirty potatoes ($3 extra) for bland, flavorless potatoes that aren't "dirty" at all. The bulgogi burrito was mostly rice. Love me a cute brunch spot that also has a good selection of food items & drinks! I think this plaza is somewhat new(er) and there's tons of parking. Walking in, theres a few seats in the front, the side, and the back. I love the decor, I love the menu selections & drink options! I got the kimchi fried rice & it was so good. The bulgogi burrito was also good however I wish the meat was cut a little more because whenever I'd bite into it, a chunk of meat would come out along with it. BUT that's not a big issue. Perfect for families. Kids loved the kids meal options, perfectly crispy bacon / chicken strips and FANTASTIC waffles! Reminded me of the days waiting on ski lines in the NE and getting a waffle while waiting. Also got the kimchi fried rice (perfect, not too spicy or salty which is what I usually deal with). The bulgogi burrito was also great. The wrap was nice and crispy vs the soggy mess I've dealt with other nights places. So happy that they opened up here. She was very polite, informative of the tweaked menu they offer now and noticed about half of the items from previous restaurant items was still on the menu. Like bulgogi burrito and kimchi fried rice was our all time fav. Yay!!! Super excited to try some new items and their matcha drinks! What I ordered ~ portobello fries were so yummy! Love this appetizer or side to complete your meal. The batter along with the guacamole like green dipping sauce complimented the portobello fries. This i highly recommend. ~ Croissant waffle and Fried Chicken $ 18 was a good meal for kids or if you're not too hungry and would like something light. I happened to pass by and stopped in because the vibe looked so good, and now I think I'm going to become a regular! First of all, the food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable. Our group ordered the kimchi fried rice, croissant waffles w/ fried chicken, Huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito and chicken pesto panini--and every single dish was a hit. Oh, and you absolutely must try the fried portobello we got as a side. It is a total game-changer. The Americano and matcha latte were also way better than expected. Planned or not, I ended up at Barista's Kitchen two days in a row. Once with friends, once with my kids. The space feels much brighter now with the open kitchen. Same layout as before, but more visually relaxed and comfortable. I had the pork belly bowl with a side of two eggs. The green sauce pairs really well and the dish was super satisfying. Also, the portobello fries are a must-try!! Five adults shared and everyone loved them. The batter is amazing. With kids, the $12 kids menu works well. We added a two egg side and it was plenty. Was out yard sailing in the posh neighborhoods of YL and we needed food and coffee. This super cute restaurant is located in the town center area. The menus is fun and unique (we started eating before I wrote this review, so food pics would not do the playing any justice. Everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend the croissant waffles! Chewy, buttery, croissant-y without the flake. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a must try for my mom and they did not disappoint. After looking on Tik Tok for solid breakfast spots in Yorba Linda, I quickly saw multiple videos for Barista's Kitchen. Intrigued, my girlfriend and I came here right away. We entered this place very enamored by the great food smell and the pretty art. We also appreciated the convenience of the order kiosk. We got our food pretty quickly after ordering and sitting down. After that point, the positive experience was stalled. My $19 Bulgogi Burrito was subpar; all of the components were not super flavorful and the combination of the ingredients in each bite did not deliver joy. The Dirty Potatoes I paid an extra $3 for were alright, but they shouldn't have cost extra. My girlfriend's $23 Huevos Rancheros were alright, but still not worth the price in terms of quality and portion size. My girlfriend is a serial leftovers-haver, yet she finished most of the meal. I don't have leftovers often, but I love taking them home. I finished half of my burrito and took one bite of the second half, and I'm not taking the rest home with me. My favorite part of the meal was discovering that Tabasco makes Sriracha Sauce. I was ready to give Barista's Kitchen a 3-star rating (one star off for the price and one star off for the quality) but then my girlfriend recommended that we try the coffee to give the place a better assessment overall. We got the Tiramisu Latte and the Strawberry Matcha ($7.50 each). These are five-star drinks. My girlfriend claims that the tiramisu latte is better than any other tiramisu latte she has had (as a frequent sip-stealer of her drinks, I agree). It has a great coffee taste with a creamy foam top that combines for a great drink. The strawberry matcha has the perfect balance of earthy green richness and fruity goodness. The drinks were really the saving grace of our visit. There are several other people here enjoying their meals, I would really hope that our food experience was a one-off. I would definitely return here for the great coffee drinks, at the least. read more

Great spot for a casual meal. The coffee was smooth and fresh, exactly what you want to start things off. The steak salad was flavorful and well put together, the steak was cooked nicely and the ingredients tasted fresh. Portion was solid too. Prosciutto Panini: Crispy outside, warm and melty inside. The prosciutto + cheese combo was perfect. Croissant Waffle w/ Fruits: Buttery, crispy, and the fruit made it feel fresh (also very photo-friendly ). Drinks: We tried the Espresso Tonic and Lavender Matcha. The lavender matcha was nice, but the Espresso Tonic was totally my style -- bright, refreshing, and just enough espresso bite. Ordering that again for sure. I've been on the hunt for croffles and this place came up. It's fairly new to the area. I was expecting a small place and was pleasantly surprised. The interior was inviting with plenty of tables. There were more tables in the back as well. Love the tasteful artwork they have on the walls. We were warmly greeted. And even though it's one of those places where you order up front, they brought us the food and checked up on us. I ordered a caramel latte with almond milk and the classic breakfast. The latte was smooth and creamy. It was on the sweet side. I forgot to tell them to make it less sweet, but that's on me. For the classic breakfast, I chose fruit instead of potatoes, bacon, and croissant waffles. It was simple but well made. The croffles were everything I wanted and more! The menu is very similar to the old Olive Seed Cafe. I used to order the chicken panini from Olive seed and was expecting it to be similar or the same. While the flavors were similar, the amount of chicken in the panini was abysmally small- nothing like the amount of chicken they put in when it was olive seed (which wasn't a monstrous amount or anything but at least there was chicken in every bite). The sandwich was mostly cheese pesto and bread. For almost $20 that's kind of a ripoff! Very little protein and mostly carbs. (Check my photos to see just how little chicken- it was like they put in the chicken at the edge to make it look like it had a lot of chicken but once you open it up you see there is no more chicken). My friend had the prosciutto panini and said it was not as good as olive seed's. So yea, I'm a little disappointed that it seems this place took a step down instead of stepping up.
