Super fluffy big cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. But what made it big and fluffy was what left it just short of 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this pastry treat. It just had a more cake like fluffy texture than some other cinnamon rolls, making it almost cake/breadlike. Great frosting! Cute shop and the croissants looked amazing- want to try next time!

Poppy Bakery is such a great spot for a morning treat. We picked up a bunch of yummy goodies, and the cinnamon roll was absolutely amazing. They do have a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats, but space is limited, so grab a seat when you can. A perfect way to start the day.

I became a fan of Poppy Bakery at the Brookfield Farmer's Market, and now I try to make the trek to the east side bakery whenever I can to score some goodies! The service is always excellent, and if you can grab a table it's so nice to sit by the window, enjoy a Valentine coffee drink, and dig in to what whatever goodness you ordered. When the weather is nice you can sit outside at the picnic tables in the plaza. My favorites are the bacon brioche buns, the brownie, the cinnamon rolls, the coffee cake and.... Let's be honest - I love literally everything on the menu! Don't miss out on Poppy Bakery.

First time here. Have been wanting to come since they opened and were reviewed in the paper. Came on a Sunday morning before noon, and there was a line pretty much out the door. It didn't take very long to get to the counter. As you wait, you get to check out all the amazing looking pastries and bakery items that they offer that day. There are a few small tables inside, or you can sit outside at some picnic tables that are in the closed off section of the street. Got a friendly greeting from the cashier and help with the order. We ended up with a couple of items to eat right away: Ginger Apple Scone and Cardamom Knot. We also got a Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie to take home. We would have liked to get a couple of hot teas, but all they offer is coffee. They have water available, so we had that instead. After a couple of quick minutes, our box with our order was ready. We sat at a table by the window. It's close quarters, so it's very likely that you'll be hearing (and possibly joining) other conversations. The Ginger Apple Scone was amazing. It has a thin sugar glaze, bits of ginger and apple, and a nice texture. The Cardamom Knot was a disappointment. It's made with brioche and was just not very substantial in taste or texture. Glad I tried it but would choose something else next time. Definitely a place that I would stop in again. Hot water with tea bags would be much appreciated.

The baked goods at this bakery are so good, I kind of don't even know why I bake myself. I had a perfect chocolate chip cookie, a perfect chocolate brownie with sea salt and that's really all you need in life. But on top of that, I got the bacon, parm, and goat cheese brioche bun and the strawberry rhubarb brioche bun with chamomile cream and a poppyseed crumble. Sooo yeah, hanging up my apron and just going here when I need baked goods! There are still things I want to try like their sesame banana bread and miso brown butter cookie. Be prepared for a long line when you go, but rest assured, it moves quickly.

I love that we have this bakery in town now. I went over the summer when it first opened and have been back multiple times since. The staff is great, parking isn't, and seating is limited. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the treats I've picked up. Some of my friends and family's favorites are the coffee cake, cinnamon roll, brownie, chocolate chip cookie, and any of the brioche flavors they've come up with. I'd definitely recommend a visit!!

Loved the lineup of baked goods here! Everything was beautiful, creative, and truly unique for Milwaukee. If it's in Chicago there would be a line haha. My picky toddler loved the miso chocolate cookie. The bakery itself is super cute, and we only waited about 5 minutes for our order on a Saturday at 10am--not bad at all. There's some indoor seating and a shared patio space (from the old Crossroads Collective), which makes it a nice spot to hang out, too.

Love when new spots open up in Milwaukee and I was so glad a friend asked me to check out Poppy Bakery with her! Everything was so good and flavorful and felt homemade. I loved the open kitchen concept and being able to see into the baking area and seeing the ladies at work! The coffee cake was moist and flavorful and my sisters brownie was super dense and delicious and my friend's pastries were incredible as well! This focaccia bread was to die for. I dream about it and will be back for it. The place has little seating but with the patio/outdoor space outside it is totally okay! I will be back again for that focaccia.

Just went for the first time around 9:30am Saturday. I figured it was best to go early before they run out possibly? There was a line but we made our way through quickly. I'm happy the cat cafe was repurposed and the design of the space works really well for a bakery! Excited to see what they offer in the future. Currently hours are limited to Saturday and Sunday but they have plans to expand that in the future. So we chose 4 items to try today but will definitely be back for other items like the biscuits and brownies! The owner was working the register at the moment and was very friendly. Here's what we tried, all were delicious and fresh tasting. -Sour Cream Coffee Cafe -Strawberry Rhubarb Brioche Bun (our favorite of the four!) seasonal -Sesame Banana Bread -Raspberry Rhubarb Bostock (seasonal) Happy to live close to this bakery and look forward to trying more things soon!

Love love love! I've actually never had their pastries before coming to their storefront so everything was a nice surprise! I love the rustic vibes, a few tables and chairs inside but the alley has some nice outdoor seating available. Everything we got was 1) too pretty to eat but also 2) so good. Their brioche was soft and pillowy, I liked their seasonal pastries (had the rhubarb), and just everyone was so sweet and welcoming. I can't wait to frequent this place!

Super delicious za'atar focaccia and cool vibe. They were out of most of the baked goods after 12pm so make sure you get there early! Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The freshest baked goods! We had a hard time deciding which ones to get so we tried so many and they have their regulars but seasonals as well. They know how to perfect their bread in different items and the level of sweetness too is perfectly made and not overbearing. Sweet sweet staff too! Minimal indoor seating but if the weather is nice they have good outdoor seating

I came at around 11am so I think there weren't too many baked options left. The place had got such a cozy atmosphere, very fall-esque and has an easy vibe to it. I got an apple brioche bun because I was feeling fruity and it was actually so so good. I was worried that it was going to be too sweet with the cream filling but it was just the right amount of sweet. The service was quick as well which was amazing because I just wanted to get my pastry to go! I would def try to come here earlier in the day if you want more options.

It's definitely the kind of bakery you'll want to come back to again and again just to sample something new each time. And the Yelp reviews and pics were right on target. I wanted to get so much more, but I was ready to bust a gut (meaning my stomach was filled to 100%). So I settled on a mini cassata cake which had hints of lemon, it was really sweet and gooey which I happen to like by the way. I also selected a mini Boston cream cake and the outer chocolate was a bit too thick and as a result, the cake itself got smushed as I tried to cut into it. I still ate it and it was good tasting nonetheless. Finally, it was my first time being here and I thought the lady could a been a wee bit more friendly. I mean, it was not that busy and if you turn on a little charm, people tend to buy more. At least I do, I'm a sucker around friendly and kind people. All in all, I will be back because the mini cakes were good.

I will say however, I wish they had other milk options beyond oat and whole milk. I say this with no means to complain, but both of those milk are very 'heavy' so whenever something like skim or almond is available, that's a personal preference for sure. They had a variety of baked goods to choose from- we opted for the cinnamon roll and the seasonal danish. We also ordered a cappuccino and an americano. The baked goods we had were okay. We were disappointed they wouldn't heat up the cinnamon roll, the reason they gave us was because the frosting would run and be messy. So the cinnamon roll wasn't very enjoyable. I liked the filling on the seasonal danish but I asked for it heated up and it was served at room temp. The coffee was good- we both thought it was weak for our liking but it had good flavor. Also to note, this place is very family-friendly. When we were in, there were a lot of children and families enjoying the space. I would love to come back and try the monkey bread; they were sold out when we arrived this morning and we were told it's a top-seller.
