Half the crust is missing

Counter helper is only capable of doing one thing at a time, so she stands and watches the coffee drip instead of helping anyone else. Asked her to make sure that the Nanaimo bar had a full crust. She still gave me a piece with half a crust, so now I have a glob of buttercream instead of a dessert. Slow service with a scowl. Not a great way to start the day, saw a new coffee place on 70th, will be trying them instead

We were across the street for lunch (Archie's Flat Top - separate review), and decided to stop over to check out the bakery. What a great treat, literally. This shop both bakery, cafe and coffee shop, all rolled into one. They have several large cases showing off all the different bakery items, breads, donuts, and more. They also carry a large selection of chocolates and confections. Many of the items are made fresh daily there, and the items that they source from other vendors (troubadour, stone creek, simmas, mollys) are clearly marked. They also have gluten free products too (some in a freezer case) Ended up getting a couple of pies to take home, one Door County Cherry and the other Apple. They serve a whole array of coffees and lattes (London Fog please), so I will be stopping back some morning to try one hot beverage and scone. Stay tuned....

Ham stuck to the foil container after I threw it out. Notice the gold gelatinous substance coating the pan.

We decided to pick up ham & rolls on 11/2. The ham was so unbelievably salty and fatty I ended up throwing it out the day after. Only 1 sandwich eaten. Normally this would be gone by kickoff. The hard rolls were ok. Extremely disappointing, compared to previous visits. See pic for gelatinous greasy reference.

What an awesome specialty bakery in West Allis! So much to offer from coffee to sweets and more! Everything is beautifully laid out and fresh and I like that they have small pies so you can't or don't need to commit to a large pie lol

Peanut butter and jelly pie

I wanted to place a pie order for my birthday and went with the peanut butter and jelly pie. It was absolutely delicious! Tasted just like the real thing. It had peanut butter cream filling and layers of jelly. Also, while I was ordering I got a sausage and gravy pasty for breakfast and it was AMAZING! The croissant was so flaky and delicious! My boyfriend ordered a cinnamon roll and it was one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had, and I am usually not a big fan of them. We heated it up in the microwave so the frosting was nice and melted.

Chocolate peanut butter cup brownie, frosted cinnamon roll, raspberry and Nutella filled croissant dipped in chocolate

The Bake Sale should be on your places to check out if you're ever in West Allis. They had an overwhelming amount of choices!! I truly wanted to try about 25 different things. Sounds like I gotta go back, right? Mine and David's favorite was the French silk pie. That was fantastic and I loved the crust. My second favorite was the cinnamon roll. It was a little dry but the amount of frosting they put on made up for it! I look forward to heating it up tomorrow then I bet it will be awesome. A little disappointed in the peanut butter cup brownie. There was no peanut butter flavor besides the few pieces of chopped up peanut butter cups. I see potential in the brownie but probably wouldn't get that flavor again. The raspberry and Nutella filled croissant dipped in chocolate was good, but also a little dry. Although that may be common with croissants? I'm no expert when it comes to croissants so maybe that's suppose to be. Overall we had a fun time trying The Bake Sale out. The worker there was soooo friendly and helpful as well!

Love the pulled ham but hard rolls are very crumbly. Cheese pocket too much frosting but good otherwise. Like cherry pie

This is arguably the best breakfast sandwich in Milwaukee! The bagel was toasted perfectly and…read morestill somehow very soft and cheesy on the inside. And came with eggs, veggies, tomato slice, two types of cheese. The flavors are incredible, and the cheese is perfectly melted. You get to pick the type of bagel you want, and I believe all the bagels are made in house. The service is quick understanding that your food is made to order so you might have to wait five or so minutes. The weight is absolutely worth it! They have a variety of iced coffees and I have tried a couple that all live up to the hype! The place itself is small and very cute so you can sit and work or study if needed. Will definitely be back!

First time here. Came with a friend. It's a cute place. The exterior is painted white brick with a…read morefloral mural on the south side. There is a rooftop patio that gets you off street level, and on a nice day you can enjoy the sun and fresh air (unless they are cooking something in the oven, and you get the amazing smells that are coming out of the vents). Inside there are several small tables or a counter with seats that face out the front window. The inside design is bright and friendly. Was excited to see all the amazing looking pastries, cookies, and rolls in the case. So with all this goodness in mind, I was a little taken aback by the greeting I got from the male cashier/barista. He appeared grumpy and curt. One of the things I asked for (and I always do) is extra foam with my London Fog Tea Latte. He just flat out said it couldn't be done (because they use a concentrate and not tea bags), but I know that's not the case and have had that before. Now, if you are reading this, you might be thinking, "get over it." However, it was my first time here, and the exchange between us was very strained. After ordering my London Fog, with an amazing looking Apricot Almond Scone, we grabbed a small table. After a little wait, they brought my beverage, and it was very good, and it had extra foam! Nice job! However, I had asked to have my scone warmed up, and it never came. I could actually see it sitting on the kitchen counter, and I asked someone if they could bring it out, which they apologized for. The scone was as amazing as it looked -- warm, nice texture, with almonds and icing on top. There is a lot to like about this place. Great atmosphere, with excellent products. However, the service that I got on this particular (first) visit was not great. I would stop again to see if it was any better the next time. This could easily go from a 4 to 5 star review :) P.S. Everyone can have a bad day. However, when I checked out some other reviews, I noticed a few others that mentioned the service, and I wonder if this is something that needs to be attended to?

It's perfect for breakfast, it's perfect for dessert, it's perfect as a midnight snack. I once purchased a bag of chocolate dipped crullers that were really fresh and quite delicious, but it's that donut that keeps me going back. Staff can be slow at times. No one ever seems to be in a hurry to serve, but they are friendly.

They also offer a great variety in rolls and potato salad. On my first visit, I also got a couple of condiments from Boar's Head that I've never seen at the store, and they are very good. My husband tried the crawlers and he quickly became a fan. On my second visit, I placed an order online in advance, and also called to confirm my order but when I got there they didn't have my order, and they didn't know about me order either. Fortunately I was there early so they could fulfill the order very quickly. Overall, the service is OK. The store is clean and organized. Tip: Get there early, or you will be waiting in line that goes all the way out to the parking lot...even in winter!

I frequently like to ask what are some of the most popular items people buy when I go to a new place and aren't familiar with the offerings. There were a number of things on the menu - a variety of hot dogs, boba teas, and tornado potatoes. When I was there, several customers were enjoying a large bowl of shaved ice with toppings - that seemed to be popular. There are a few seats to hang around while snacking/eating. There is a large public parking lot just behind the shop up the hill, a conveniently located spot. I picked up a 3-pack of Mochiring doughuts, with the following flavors: mango; churro; brown sugar. The doughnuts were placed in a rectangular box which made it easy to carry home. Because it was hot, I ordered a fruit boba tea- mango with green tea and with mango-flavored popping boba. It was my first time to have the popping boba. The green tea plus the mango, which was recommend by the cashier/front counter attendant was really good. After trying the popping boba, it was fine, but I personally prefer the regular boba (I think it is a personal preference). I'd definitely get the green tea and mango combo again. The doughnuts were light and airy, and I like the fact they are small, sliightly smaller than bite-sized rounds. I'll come back another time to try the famous hot dogs - and I'd come again for the doughnuts, too. I recommend stopping by if you want to try something new.
