We've been to both Poppy's locations and they are both excellent. This is now my wife's favorite Italian restaurant in the Jax metro area. Food and service are great at both, but I think the St Augustine location has slightly better service. Our latest trip my daughter and I shared a Pomodoro Caprese to start and it was excellent. I would certainly recommend it and will get it again. For dinner I got their wedge salad with blackened salmon. Their take on the wedge is one of the best I've had, and the salmon was cooked perfectly. My wife got her usual Chicken Parmigiana and she said it was perfect as previous trips. Place is nice enough for date night but also relaxed enough to come in with shorts and flip flops with the family. read more

Finally had the chance to try Poppys after hearing so many great things. They delivered from the friendly service to the food. The place was smaller than I imagined which I liked. They did have an outside patio but you don't really want to eat outside right now (August 2026). Since my wife ordered plain bread and I ordered garlic, we were each brought our own bread. My Caesar salad was just the right size - included with entree - and they added a couple of anchovies per my request. The linguine and clams were great and portions were huge. I'm fairly certain everyone dining that night left with a to go box since the meals could easily feed 2. Add a couple more fans to this restaurant. Just a note - they no longer serve pizza. I happened to notice after I gave my menu back that I didn't see pizza and confirmed with our waitress. I love this restaurant for several reasons. First, the service is consistently superb -- the waitstaff are attentive without being intrusive and always seem genuinely invested in making sure I'm having a great experience. Second, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance: it feels elevated and polished, but never stuffy or overly formal. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable whether you're dressed up or just coming in for a relaxed night out. Most importantly, the food is excellent -- and consistently so. That reliability matters. While I personally tend to prefer red sauces that are a little less acidic, I can absolutely get behind Poppy's marinara because the dish as a whole just works. This review is specifically based on their to go soup portions. They're very generous with all their other entrées, but when it comes to soup, they charge you $10 a bowl for a tiny little cup which appears to be about 12 ounces and they don't even fill the to go cup all the way up. Mind you, most places you go to provide a 32 ounce container filled to the rim. For reference, I included a photo from salsa's Mexican Grill at a price point of just $13 which is made to order Again this review is specifically targeted toward the scenario of ordering soup to go. For the prices they charge they should really be more generous, especially for an item like soup. read more

Fantastic lunch at this family owned and operated business in NW St John's County. The specials are great and the service matched it. We enjoyed a Basil Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sandwich and upgraded to a side salad from fries and an Eggplant Parmesan sandwich with fries. OMG! So much yummy delicious servings of Italian goodness - The Penne Caprese was my favorite. The lasagna was yummy too and went well with the bread and soup. First time at Poppy's. It was a busy Friday night but we found a spot at the bar to eat dinner! Phil was our bartender and he has a big, bright personality and he doesn't let the dinner rush frazzle him. The restaurant is very popular. So much so that they really need a bigger place - one with a much larger bar area. My Penne Caprese was very good with a delicious pesto sauce. The portion was huge. The garlic bread comes just the way I love- drenched in garlic and oil! Nice size rolls. The side of meatballs was the star. Four large balls with a nice mild meat flavor in a really good tomato sauce. The portions here are large and the prices much lower than you'd expect. A nice surprise! She heard of this place from clients raving about the restaurant and I drove past the Ponte Vedra location a few times. We decided to try it out for dinner. They serve you bread, choice of salad or soup and entree. I ordered the Baked Ziti as that is my go to at any Italian restaurant. I paired that with a Caesar salad. For appetizer I got the Bruschetta. I also ordered their Italian 76 cocktail. My friend ordered the Mozzarella Sticks appetizer and Chicken Parmigiana dinner. Food was delicious and served huge portions. I took the remainder of my meal to go and it tasted even better the next day. We went at around 2pm on a Thursday...the service was a bit slow but I think they were understaffed. It took awhile to seat us but the hostess was really hustling to try to make it happen. We started with the garlic bread, super garlicky, hot and fresh - delicious. Then I got a tossed salad with bleu cheese dressing, nice crisp lettuce, good salad. And then the burger. Disappointing. The meat was super dense and the flavor was funky, not in the good way. Here's the thing, I'm guessing I shouldn't order a burger in an Italian joint. Loads of garlic!! The garlic bread came out lots of raw garlic on it, making it unenjoyable to eat. The food looked pretty but the sauce had big chunks of garlic too. I'm Italian, I love garlic but this all combined was just too much. The hostess was pleasant, baby wearing her child. The server was nice and attentive. our second time here, our server last night was really sweet and decently attentive. We had the lemon chicken soup that was incredible. We had a fettuccine Alfredo and a chicken Parm entrée, the fettuccine was a little bit bland and the marinara and the chicken Parm was extremely chunky with whole pieces of garlic and onion which was a little frustrating but the flavor overall was really good. I had baked cannelloni pasta which was also very yummy. The sauce was aromatic & perfectly seasoned & the pasta was all homemade. Our table also had cheese tortellini and fettuccine alfredo dishes. All the pasta was homemade and had the perfect consistency and texture! The Alfredo sauce was amazing as well, the perfect richness of cheesyness. Very impressed with the main dishes. I chose the Italian wedding soup to start, but wasnt a fan. The broth was good, but not much in the soup & the small meatballs were too soft. House salad is basic. Caesar salad has nice dressing. We also got a piece of crème brûlée cheesecake to go. Felt frustrated they charged $15 for a tiny piece of cheesecake that wasn't special, so not the best way to end. Overall a really nice meal. They serve their water in glass bottles which is a fun fancy detail. The main dishes and bread were the stars of the meal. Great food, lovely ambiance, very friendly and professional staff. This hidden gem is a goto for those special occasions for us local diners. We went for an early dinner today for my wife's birthday, and it didn't disappoint. Our server was attentive and even accommodated some substitutions with the entrees due to my picky daughter's. We ordered some apps to start, which came fairly fast, followed by our huge garlic bread. The soups and salad followed, but the grand finally were the main entrees! Everything was amazing and was simply delicious. The portions were so big that we all ended up boxing them up to go. I'd also like to mention that for all the food we got for five people, the check was fair, considering how expensive it's been to dine out. Full disclosure, I would come to Poppy's just for their House Garlic Bread alone. It is soooo good. Bread always fresh, with plenty of Olive Oil and Garlic. But the best part is, their other menu items are equally as delicious. Makes you just wanna go down the menu list and try each and every last one of them. This Poppy's is located of CR210 and its the second Poppy's location. I like it because it is much closer to me by proximity. It is situated in a new plaza. The staff here are super friendly and attentive. Speaking of friendly, inside atmosphere is nice and simple. Just order anything, you won't regret it. [trio comes with ziti, 1 gravy meat ravioli (reminded me of Australia stuffed pockets), a decent portion of meat lasagna, 1 absolutely delicious manicotti (the star of the dish)]. ($33.75) The bread is delicious The soup was great too. The very small portion of Spumoni was absolutely delicious but again price point is high ($12.50). Overall delicious but the price is pretty high for what I got. They even added $7.50 as a service fee to pack my order up. I don't think they charge to was your dishes If you chose to eat in the restaurant. My next order when I feel like splurging will be just manicotti. I probably wouldn't pay that price often. I paid a total of $67.69 for 1 meal, 1 small tiny scoop of ice cream, service fee and $10 tip to the driver. No other fee as I am a member of Uber already. I will definitely try again and next time most likely will dine in as I am buying a house in the area. read more

My wife and I have wanted to try Poppy's since the restaurant opened but for one reason or another life always sent us in another direction. Tonight for my 60th birthday my wife, my one son living at home while going to college, and I enjoyed a great meal at Poppy's. My wife had a "Mama Mia Margarita" which was very disappointing and $15-. I had Peroni beer from Italy which is also a great pizza beer. My son forgot his ID and had to settle for sweet tea for not bringing his licence. It was the first time he was proofed with his Mom and Dad present in a long time. So don't leave home or go to Poppy's without it. His didn't like his ice tea. My wife and son split the Home Made Mozzarella Sticks appetizer. I had the Clams con Succo with White Lemon Butter Sauce. The mozzarella sticks aren't really sticks because they look more like full sized Popsicles without sticks. Both my wife and son said they were delicious and 100% better than anything store bought. I received a lot more clams than I thought I was going to get with the Clams con Succo. I really enjoyed the clams. As I ate them I reminisced about jumping off my boat and getting my own clams on the Jersey shore as a teenager. We all enjoyed the appetizers. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo, and Pasta Fagioli. My son had the Chicken Parmesan, and Ceasar Salad. I had the Veal Marsala and the house salad w/ balsamic vinegarette. My wife enjoyed her Alfredo and had enough for her next 2 lunches. She loved the Pasta Fagioli. I tried some and like other Yelp reviews I've read was the best I've had in as long as I can remember. It was that good. It was so good I wish I had picked the soup of the day which was Italian Wedding soup to see how that compares to the best I've had with Italian Wedding soup. My son barely spoke when eating his chicken parm. Honestly, we had to check if he was breathing while eating because his face was buried in his plate devouring his meal. There was barely a speck of pasta or sauce left on his plate when he finished. He gave the parm a big thumbs up. He added the Ceasars Salad was just okay. As far as my Birthday meal, Veal Marsala for a large part of my life has been my go to meal in an Italian restaurant. Happily, this meal didn't disappoint. The veal was tender, the mushrooms were very fresh and you could taste the quality of the marsala wine. This isn't supermarket purchased marsala wine. This is real quality marsala and you can taste it. The house salad was uneventful and really made me wish I had ordered one of the 2 soup choices. Always next time.... We told the waitress when she was boxing up our leftovers weren't going to order desserts because we had a birthday cake at home. With the check she brought out a plate with 3 canollis with a candle in the middle one. We each had a canolli and we all thought they were great. A very nice touch for a NY/NJ Italian Restaurant Dinner. As we were eating we wondered why we waited so long to try Poppy's. Don't wait to try this place! Next time you want to go out for a date, a date night, a family night, or you don't fell like cooking go to Poppy's. The service was very good - friendly and sufficiently attentive. The ambience is blandly pleasant. The window sill next to our table was very dusty, which invoked some sneezing. But this place is WAY over-priced unless you adore exceptionally bland, unimaginative food. After seeing all the great reviews we had high hopes for the food but were disappointed. The fried green tomato app was tasty but nothing special. The house starter salad was awful - just lettuce and shredded carrots and maybe a tomato. The garlic bread on the other hand was excellent - the highlight of the meal. My frutti di mare Fra Diavolo was only so-so; I've had much better at restaurants that were less pricey. The clams and mussels were especially meagre. My husband's Grouper Francesco was a little better but sort of soggy. The cannoli we had for dessert was yummy. My first time here and happy I was able to make it for a lunch as they had so many specials! My friend and I both did the early special which is served with bread, choice of salad or soup, choice of drink from soft drinks, wine, or sangria along side your entree selection. There was PLENTY of food. I ordered the house salad, sangria, and the chicken, broccoli, with risotto. The sangria was DELICIOUS definitely coming back for that. The risotto was good. My friend has the Cesar salad, Pinot and lasagna. That lasagna was huge she ended up taking left overs home. Great service. Cute newish atmosphere, bar looked fun but so small that only 6 people could fit. Looks like you have to arrive before 4 to get a seat. Bartender was running court and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Maybe next time ! (We are new in town and love to meet people at bar restaurants) We did try the early bird specials and wow what a deal for probably a little smaller portion but still plenty of food. The house cab was drinkable but the Chardonnay left something to be desired but they are included with the special. Even without the free wine the meals were still a bargain. I have sausage and peppers and the peppers were sliced longways to get the maximum flavor from the peppers. Yum! Other dishes looked great too. This will be on the rotation for sure read more
