Yummy, first time in this location, I was before the fruit cove one. I ordered the salmon with vegetables and it was delicious! The local ambience is great. The service was good. They have additional parking on the side. I definitely recommend it.

I went to Bella Vista, Jax Beach location, last week. It was my first time eating at the restaurant. I've been wanting to try them for a long time and I'm glad they opened a location not far from my house. The restaurant ambiance definitely made me feel like I was at an Italian restaurant. There was lots of seating as well as a bar. The bread came out first with a homemade olive oil dip. The bread was soft on the inside with a firm crust. And I had a glass of house red, which was on the sweet side just how I like it, which was recommended by Sarah our server. The wine paired perfectly with my meal. We started with the baked oysters which were covered in parmesan cheese and absolutely delicious! For dinner I ordered the veal parmesan with penne pasta. I was told they do not make their own pasta in house but it is imported from Italy. Nice! The piece of veal was huge! I actually got four meals out of this dinner;) The veal was tender and seasoned perfectly, smothered in cheesy goodness. The penne pasta was also yummy, not too hard and not too soft. We ended our meal by sharing a piece of tiramisu. It was decadent and delicious!!! If you're looking to support a local Italian restaurant I highly recommend you stop in and try Bella Vista!

Went to this restaurant tonight with 4 of my girlfriends. The restaurant is bigger than I was expecting and we had a reservation so we didn't have to wait at all. The service was pretty slow, but the manager came over and took our drink order so I don't know if the waitress was just overwhelmed . The food was pretty good. Some of us enjoyed our dishes more than others. The bread was awesome and I personally liked my penne vodka, but I would go with grilled chicken next time and not the fried chicken. My friend loved her spicy rigatoni. Another friend of mine had the chicken Parmesan with penne. She loved the chicken, but thought that the tomato sauce with the penne was flavorless. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, but it was very loud

This was my third time visiting Bella Vista and it has been great every time. The service is great, by both Sarah and Rebecca. The ultimate chicken parm was my son's favorite. My daughter loved the ciao Pepe. I love the meatballs! The restaurant is spacious and easy to have a conversation. They also have a small bar on the back. I love that the owners/managers always walk around to ensure that everything is going well.

Again & again Bella Vista A Mare does it right. You haven't been? What are you waiting for? Do you not like warm friendly people? Don't like fresh, delicious Italian food? Tonight we celebrated my husband's birthday. What better way than going to his favorite restaurants new location. Bella Vista A Mare makes it easy to park in a town where parking is at a premium. Just go around the block and drive up to their FREE rooftop parking. Then walk into a warm, friendly atmosphere where they really care to make your experience a memorable one. Tonight we started off with some arancini. These are stuffed rice balls with cheese, peas, and meat, perfectly fried and topped with Bella Vista's homemade marinara sauce. We soaked up that sauce with their crispy, homemade bread that is served complementary. Next we had a fresh salad with green apples, craisins, walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese. My favorite salad anywhere, large enough to share. My husband ordered their baked clams ( a dish you can't find anywhere here). They are delicate baby clams bathed in a garlic breadcrumb & lemon bath. For entree my husband got his favorite which is a breaded and pounded pork chop on the bone, topped with melted cheese & smothered with mushrooms & a brown sauce. The home fry potatoes are almost as tasty as the pork chop. For my entree I switched it up this visit and instead of ordering my go to eggplant parm I ordered the appetizer order of eggplant rolitini. It's large enough as a main with three rolled and stuffed eggplant slices stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped with their homemade marinara sauce. One of my favorite dishes here. We were too full to order dessert, but Gio the owner knowing it was my husband's birthday sent over a delicious tray of cannoli, tiramisu and cheesecake. So we made some room to top off our delicious meal with their wonderful desserts. All of the desserts here are fabulous. Make sure you leave enough room for dessert. Always a wonderful experience at Bella Vista no matter how many times you visit.

I didn't think Bella Vista could impress me more... and then they opened their Jacksonville Beach location. First of all, the space is beautiful -- elevated, fresh, and perfectly fits the beach vibe without losing that cozy Italian feel they're known for. But what really sets this location apart? The menu. It's completely different from the original -- not just a copy and paste. New dishes, new flavors, and everything feels intentional. It honestly feels like a whole new dining experience while still carrying the quality and consistency they're known for. We absolutely went overboard ordering because everything sounded that good -- and not a single dish disappointed. The flavors were bold, balanced, and clearly made with care. I will happily drive to the beach anytime for this spot. If you loved the original, you NEED to try this location.

Food and service were absolutely amazing! We had an appetizer, these dishes and desserts and everything was so flavorful. We will definitely be back real soon!

Fantastic meal from start to finish. The meatballs have no filler. Just delicious meat and sauce! The fresh basil is a perfect accompaniment. The portions are huge. We split a meal and still have leftovers. The eggplant part was great. The vodka sauce is on point. The ricotta cake is amazing!!

I was so excited for this new location to open up at the beach that I frequent very often. There was an extensive wine list, a decent sized menu, and plenty of options. The meatballs were dry and needed more flavor. The ultimate chicken vodka parm was good, however the spicy rigatoni could have more flavor. The table side cacio e pepe (whole reason I came) was good and tasted fresh. I added grilled chicken to it which was a bit dry. I will say the service was top notch, everyone was friendly greeting as you walked in and saying goodbye as you walked out. I am hoping the food gets better as they are open longer since they just opened this location 4 days ago. But to me the flavor was very average for an Italian spot.

The service was really great. Awesome atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming and bland. Very disappointed to spend $100 on something I could have gotten at Olive Garden

    Cacio et Pepe

Bella Vista has great customer service -- everyone was kind and attentive -- but unfortunately the food just didn't match the experience. The cacio e pepe was truly bland, with none of the rich, peppery flavor you'd expect. The chicken was even more disappointing; it looked so sad and processed that it honestly seemed like it came straight from a bag. For the price and the atmosphere, I expected much better. The service was the only highlight, but the food itself was far below par.

I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion or if you're just in the mood for delicious authentic Italian food. The pasta is so fresh. Leave room for dessert. A++++ all around.

Well, I have to say that this restaurant can compete with the best in NYC, New Haven, and Providence or Boston! First and foremost, the service was top notch. The attentiveness and efficiency of our waiter was the best, but to top it off, 2 of the owners each came to the table to check on things. This is something that stands out today. I love it. The atmosphere was comfortable yet refined and the place is very clean. The dim lighting is a point that my wife appreciates in a restaurant setting, but our seats were probably the least lit, (our backs to the front window) and our old eyes needed our phone lights to read the menu, haha. The Arancini was perfect and we loved the marinara. My veal dish was magnificent with it's perfectly cooked, large and very tender cutlet. My wife fully enjoyed the Pappardelle con Vongole nero and I thought it was phenomenal. We can't wait to visit the best Italian restaurant in JAX again, when we return in October.

I've been numerous times over the years, this latest visit was for a large birthday party- so…read morelarge, we basically took over the upstairs! Quay was our personal server and I think he was our bartender too- although there was another person back and forth behind the bar. We added a little chaos to the mix with a handful of family who showed without rsvp-ing. Add in toddlers plus easily 15 people.... Yeah- mad respect for Quay!!! I admit to being sad that I couldn't get my broiled platter- that is my favorite Fish Camp dish, and apparently not available for lunch. I pivoted and got the steam pot for 2. For myself. And guess what- I ate all the crab, hmmm so happy! Laugh- it was hilarious, I was still cracking crab while everyone sung happy birthday! I was thrilled. I brought home most of the potatoes, corn and such- it even had mushrooms and broccoli! YUM! My old fashioned was also perfection in a glass. John had the shrimp and fish basket and loved every bite. Several raved about the shrimp and grits. Caron loved her mahi mahi. Connor got the Spicy Wild Caught Shrimp Linguine with White Wine, Garlic, Tomato, Pecorino and inhaled it! Even the kiddos were super happy with the kids chicken strips, although the kitchen delivered the first plate to the wrong toddler and the lovely parents didn't question how they got food without ordering and that little girl dug right in. Opposite end of the table- this grandma spoke up and we split the food so all the littles were fed. Considering our chaotic group, it went very well. I didn't hear a single complaint from our party. Hopefully we didn't drive the staff too crazy!

I used to absolutely love this place. It was our go-to for seafood, celebrations, family dinners,…read moreand special occasions for years. We recommended it constantly and genuinely enjoyed supporting them. Unfortunately, after our last few experiences, that loyalty is completely gone. The problems really started during a dinner visit with my spouse. We had a reservation for two and specifically requested a booth because my spouse has herniated discs and booths are much easier on her back. The hostess with glasses told us there were "no booths available for parties of two," so we were seated at a tiny two-top directly in front of an empty booth. Minutes later, another couple - who apparently didn't even have the correct downstairs reservation because Wheel House was closed for a private event - was seated in that exact booth instead. When I politely questioned it, I was told they were "accommodating them." Interesting, because apparently accommodating a medical issue for customers with a reservation didn't matter. Still, we decided to give the restaurant another chance for Mother's Day. To their credit, we were seated at a booth this time after I both noted it in the reservation and called ahead to confirm it. Our waiter was someone we immediately recognized from a previous visit, and my parents mentioned he had waited on us before at that same table. Somehow, from that comment alone, he became convinced we were related to Chef Tim Tillus. From there, things got bizarre. He kept talking about "Timmy," mentioning reunions and saying he used to live with him. The restaurant was extremely loud, and my father had forgotten his hearing aids that day, so honestly we could barely understand what he was talking about. We just smiled politely and focused on asking about the menu because we truly had no clue where the conversation was going. Eventually, he came back and realized we were NOT Chef Tim Tillus' family. He then explained that the kitchen staff had apparently been laughing because the chef saw us and said, "That's not my family." So somehow this became a whole ordeal in the kitchen over a completely innocent misunderstanding. We laughed awkwardly because what else do you do at that point? But honestly, the whole interaction felt strange and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the food was even worse than the awkward service. My spouse ordered the all-day seafood soup, and somehow there was basically ZERO seafood in it. That alone was shocking because their soups used to be incredible. My father ordered the broiled platter, and the portion size was honestly embarrassing for a $29 dish. His parsley potatoes consisted of literally five tiny cubes - my mother counted them because we were in disbelief. We have eaten here for years and NEVER saw portions this small. I ordered the fish special, and it was nothing like described. It was supposed to have pecans and blackening seasoning. There were no pecans, no blackening seasoning, and the fish itself was dry, bland, overcooked, and flavorless. For $32, I was served what looked like a tiny sad pile of fish in the middle of a giant empty plate. The pork chop looked beautiful but tasted absolutely awful. At this point I honestly don't know if the kitchen quality has completely collapsed or if nobody is checking food before it leaves the line anymore. Either way, it was terrible. My mother ordered scallops on the half shell as her meal - something she has enjoyed there many times before. This time, the scallops were tiny and somehow greasy. It was shocking these dishes were even leaving the kitchen. What makes this so disappointing is that we truly loved this restaurant. We weren't casual customers. We supported this place for years because we believed the food and experience were worth it. This wasn't just a mediocre meal or an "off night." This was a genuinely terrible dining experience from start to finish, made worse by the fact that it happened on Mother's Day. The service felt awkward and disorganized, the portions were insulting, the food quality was awful, and there seemed to be zero quality control happening anywhere. At this point, our money will be supporting other establishments instead. It's honestly sad because this place USED to be special. I sincerely hope management fixes the kitchen, consistency, and overall professionalism before even more longtime customers walk away.

She always said it was more kid friendly than the Mandarin location. So we went. I have NEVER been so disappointed & disrespected by the level of service than at this location. We have never been so we were unaware that this location was similar to the downtown Jacksonville location. 1) We came in and we were not greeted. 2) No one explained to us that we would need to go to the left side of the establishment for full service/full bar. We ordered our food and were given a number just like the downtown Jacksonville location. We sat outside so we can watch our little one play, but apparently we chose the wrong side of the outdoor eating area. (No barrier to distinguish between the 2 sides) We were told we could NOT eat there. The server explained that this is for full service only. I wanted to order more as we were hungry. I thought, perfect. I can order an appetizer, a cocktail, and get my son some gelato while we waited. Again, we were told we can't eat here OR order food OR sit here. Mind you, out of all the 15 tables (both sides) only 2 were occupied. We were told, "You can't sit there either. (NO SIGNAGE TO DISTINGUISH THE 2 SIDES!) AND NO YOU CANNOT ORDER FOOD. You have to sit over there." Then the server asked, "Is that ok? (With an attitude). I informed the server, "NO. IT'S NOT OK." She didn't say anymore as we moved several tables over to the "designated area". This was our first time at this location & it will be our last! There was no apology or explanation that we need to go back inside to the front of the restaurant. None. We had no idea we entered the quick order side (there's tables on both sides.) I went inside & asked to speak to a manager. He explained that there's a hostess on the other side of the restaurant, (apparently there's more than one entrance). He said that someone should have explained it to us & said he would speak to the server. That was it. Nothing else. He tried to seat us in the full service but it was too late. I was so mad at driving 30 minutes after work, (I was still in my scrubs) to get treated that way that. I packed up my family of 3 & left. I am still so angry at the level of service I received. It was a huge disappointment. I hope that the Durbin Park location (once built) will have the level of service we are accustomed to receiving.
