Unfortunately, the food took super long to come out. By the time it reached our table, the mallorca toast, eggs, and sausage were cold. It's easy to get overwhelmed at Huntley's!! There's the special sign by the door, the wall of pancake options, the other wall with specials, the orange photocopied sheet with specials and the main menu. Oh so many options that sounded so good but I was on a pancake mission. Service was immediate and my coffee and water were quickly in front of me. My awesome charm-focused waitress nudged up to me with a mile long smile plus recommendations if her favorites almost leading me to change but no I was destined to have pancakes!! Coconut and banana pancakes were my choice ... three of them The kitchen obviously knows how to do pancakes because these had all the traits of pancakes you lust for ... well not sure I was lusting for the pancakes but they were really good. Offers to refill my coffee cup were consistent so I felt well served. This simply decorated dining room (There's outdoor seating too) was filled to the max, which proves my point that Huntley's deserves five stars!!

Not only was the lady who served us beyond nice and helpful, but she also helped us make up our minds on what to order and was constantly checking up on us, but never in an annoying way. As for the food, it was absolutely amazing. The portion sizes are more than good enough, and the pancakes were silky smooth and packed with huge flavors. With so many options to choose from, they definitely have a flavor for everybody. The eggs Benedict were some of the best I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was rich, creamy, and had that perfect buttery flavor without being too heavy. The muffin the eggs came on top of was fluffy and made for the perfect pairing. The breakfast platter was also very good and came with a great selection of meats and eggs. Everything was cooked well, and there was more than enough food to leave you satisfied. If you're around the area and want some amazing breakfast, I'd say look no further. The food, portions, and service were all fantastic, and I'd definitely come back again.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

The outside of the place isn't hard to find or see. When you look at it from the outside, it looks more like a tropical type of theme. Parking did seem pretty limited as they were busy when my mom and I got here. Based on that, parking can be severely limited during peak times. Once we came inside, it definitely looked like a tropical theme, which was easy to see throughout the place. Another big thing I noticed as soon as we came in (and remained the case the entire time) that it was excessively loud. It was hard to hear each other, and even our server. I never got over to the outdoor seating area as it was pretty busy. We were greeted by a hostess at the counter and we were immediately seated. With it being busy as it was, our server came over to the table and said she would be back shortly, though it was a bit longer than expected. Someone else came by to ask if we wanted water while waiting for her to come back and we both did that. Once she was able to come to the table, we weren't quite ready to order yet, but I did get the Bay Bloody Mary. The Bay Bloody Mary was good and did have a kick to it, as expected, though more than I thought. It was still good though. After a few more minutes, we were ready to order. I decided to go for The Lesner With a Waffle as the main course item, scrambled eggs, and bacon with Cheese Grits and a Fried Biscuit as the side items. My mom ordered the Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast entree with bacon and a fruit skewer. Given how busy it was, I was surprised that food came out about ten minutes later after ordering. The food looked really good and hot when it came out. I don't normally do a waffle, but that waffle was really good. I only put butter on it as I didn't want to add even more sugar to the meal already. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested. I wasn't sure how the Cheese Grits would be, but they were surprisingly good. The last item I had was the Fried Biscuit. Wow that one was a highlight for sure, though I won't do that one too often. My mom said the entree she had was good too and there were no issues. Overall, this was a good visit. I would give it 3.5 stars but rounding to 4 in this case due to the great food. The biggest negatives were the noise levels, as it was hard to talk to anyone there, and they automatically add an 18% tip for all transactions, regardless of party size. Given the circumstances, the service was good too. I will come back in the future, but maybe not on a weekend or around a holiday where it gets busier than normal. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something to choose from to eat at.

My husband and I came for brunch to celebrate our anniversary, and it was very disappointing compared to our previous visits. The pancakes were tough and inedible--we had to request a waffle instead. While the crab dip was enjoyable, the rest of the meal fell short. Our server (Erika) made us feel rushed, which took away from what was supposed to be a special occasion. The portion sizes were also surprising--my husband's platter included a single sausage cut in half, and mine came with half a slice of bacon. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations. If maintaining quality requires higher prices, I would much rather pay more for a better experience than receive subpar food and portions. Sadly, this visit was a letdown, and we won't be returning. I hope improvements are made moving forward.
