Even Gluten Free Coffee cake. Takeout or stay in to hangout. Ice cream brand is Blue Bell and I ordered a chocolate expresso shake and a yummy carrot cake to go. (Which I do couple times a month). Customer service is very good as they're all young adults and for some it's their first job. Friendly and kind staff with blessings as you leave. Who does that these days ? Our youth, for me reminds me how grateful support a wonderful yummy coffee, bakery and ice cream eatery named POP's !! The name says everything inside. Bravo. I stop every morning on my way to work to get an iced coffee. It's always a welcoming atmosphere, and I'm always greeted with a smile by the friendliest baristas. The service is amazing and quick, and the coffee is amazing. The pastries are very tasty as well. I highly recommend it!!! read more

I love Pops. I've been many times since moving to La Vernia last year. I usually stop in the morning for a coffee and/or a baked good. My favorite is the cranberry muffin but I've never gotten something I didn't absolutely enjoy. They're always changing up the selection in the case. The staff is super young but always incredibly polite and helpful. Prices are reasonable and the store is always very clean. The ice cream is great too (Bluebell!) The portions on the ice cream are VERY generous. Pop's is a hidden gem for sure. Highly recommend. read more

I don't think I ever got ice cream here, but I did get coffee when our granddaughter worked there. It's a quaint little place. It's a little pricey, though even though for sure I'm a little biased with the service because like I said her granddaughter worked there she no longer works there, just a steppingstone and her great adventure of life as this place I think it's good. I think it's OK to see more ice cream places around town to travel a little bit just to get ice cream but it's definitely a place that you can stop by and get great coffee. read more

Everything I needed and then some. Stopped for coffee and a pastry before getting family photos done and not only was the coffee delicious we got a jalapeño sourdough loaf that was out of this world delicious. I loved going to Pops. My wife & I would make the drive a few times a week to support a small local business until we found out they pay their employees $6 an hour. That's not right. Those employees bust their butts back there and try to justify it by getting tips. At least pay your employees minimum wage for crying out loud. Definitely will not support a business that treats their employees this way. I will take my money elsewhere. Hopefully those hardworking employees realize with their work ethic they could make a lot more money elsewhere where they are appreciated. read more

We haven't lived in the area long but the kiddos have craved ice cream and just a reason to get out of the house during the pandemic. I'm writing this as a former employee. I used to go to pops all the time for years and have always wanted to work there. Then I started working here right before the new owners bought it. I loved it! the environment was nice, and i loved the customers and making the drinks. but after about 5-6 months (after the new owners took over), the new owners changed a lot of important things. I had a lot of customers ask for a certain drink that was actually taken off the menu (for personal dislike from the owner) and was very disappointed when i explained that it was taken off. Not only was that an issue, the owners didn't really treat us (employees) as employees. She treated us more like her kids. This can be a problem with businesses. They never held meetings when something was changed, so i would get yelled at for doing something wrong that i didn't do, and then be accused of "arguing back" when i was very respectfully and professionally trying to explain that i wasn't told. I also was accused of arguing when the owner made a drink wrong and i attempted to tell her how to fix it. I'm also very disappointed in how i was let go. They never gave me a heads up, i was simply taken off the schedule. They responded to my text about the schedule changed a few days later. very unprofessional. they never gave me a real reason why i was let go. I'm assuming it's because i spoke up for myself and the other employees several times when there was an issue. Overall, I am very disappointed with how unprofessionally run the place was, especially how they never even listened to the employees, but instead they argued back (and accusing me of arguing). There's honestly so much more i could say about the way they managed it. I really did love that business and i will miss the drinks and treats they make. But unfortunately they lost a very good employee and customer. read more
