Wowww!! I was so excited to try this! Finally got to go this past weekend and it lived up to the hype. Staff were sooo helpful and sweet and the orders came out to quickly. The concept is simple yet soo good! The everything bagels were so warm and soft and paired perfectly with the spicy scallion schmear. Omg... Popup Bagel is SO good! I love the concept of the pull-apart bagels instead of slicing them open--it's different in the best way. The bagels were incredibly fresh, soft, and moist. And the butter? Absolutely delicious--I honestly wanted to take some home! The line was long, but it moved really fast. I was in and out in about 3 minutes. The service was spectacular--everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Just a heads up: you have to order at least 3 bagels. I noticed people heading upstairs, so I think there's seating up there. Got to try these bagels for the first time when a coworker brought them in to the office. I won't sugar coat this, these are probably the best bagels that I have had outside of NYC. I tried the plain bagel with salt and it offered absolutely perfect consistency. Soft interior with a flexible but harder outer shell, it was all you could ask for. Paired with this superstar bagel are the out of this world shmears. I tried the plain cream cheese, scallion, and their limited time Chipotle scallion. Each one was great and provided its own symphony of flavor. If you want a strait fire bagel while you walk around quaint Georgetown, look no further than PopUp Bagels. read more

Ahhhh PopUp Bagels is finally opened and I couldn't be more ecstatic! I first tried it in New York and have been hoping for a location nearby ever since. As expected, the bagels are so yummy and schmears are heavenly. Lived up to all of the hype + some these bagels were SO fresh and delicious. I got the sesame, everything & salt - all were delicious!! The scallion cream cheese complimented all of the bagels well. It's opening weekend for pop up bagels, they opened on Friday and I went the day after. I was already going to be in Georgetown and a bit skeptical because I saw how long the line was the day before. I went around 1pm and the line wasn't too bad. I waited about 10 minutes in line and it took 2 minutes after to receive my bagels. I got 1 poppy, 1 sesame, and 1 salt with plain cream cheese. I ate them right outside so they would still be hot. The bagels are good! No doubt about that, are they overpriced, yes. They give you an insane amount of cream cheese. It seemed a bit wasteful to give so much. I ended up throwing mine away because I knew I wouldn't eat it later. My favorite was the salt bagel, 10/10. The sesame bagel was a let down for me. It had no taste at all. I think it's worth one try, I personally don't think I would come back anytime soon but the bagels were delicious, just a bit too pricey for me. read more

If you can get lucky with parking (which we did), this is a smoothly run operation in the heart of Georgetown. Got in line about 50 customers deep as probably waited about 15 minutes. We got 3 assorted bagels and schmear...couldn't ask for much more in an experience. Served piping hot, cooked perfectly, and not overly salty yet flavorful given the specialty versions. I always despise having to drive into Georgetown due to parking and traffic. So I was really hoping that this place was overhyped. But I'm here to report that it is as good as advertised. Pop up bagels might be some the BEST bagels I've ever had. Loved the salted bagel the most and the scallion cream cheese paired sooooo well with every bagel. I could've eaten a dozen myself! Pop up bagel is new in Georgetown and so much fun. I live about an hour outside of dc and it was well worth the trip. The line was out the door, but I didn't wait more than 10 minutes to get to the counter and my bagels were ready almost instantly! Some seating upstairs and we managed to get a seat pretty easily. Once we got to open our bag of bagels, they were so fresh that I couldn't even touch the bagel at first. When I was able to tear it, the steam wafted out like a cartoon. Everything was so perfectly baked and cream cheese so perfectly spreadable/dippable (if you do it their way). It was just a perfect bagel treat. I would not pass up an opportunity to get pop up. I'm glad they're opening more locations around Maryland/dc. read more

Welcome to Georgetown, Popup! We enjoy their Sesame and Poppy, and stuck with the Scallion CC and the Hotel Butter shmears. As usual, the bagels were hot and fresh with crisp exterior! Lines were long, but the staff made it move along and were super efficient. They were so friendly and all dressed in a smile! I understand the hype! I totally get it! And now I'm a fan! PopUp Bagels is everything! I traveled to Georgetown this morning to try these bagels and they were delicious. I knew it was going to be a good day when there was no traffic, I found street parking and there was no line. I walked into the store and was greeted by several staff. I placed my order and the bagels came out in seconds. Nice and hot! They were sold out of the sesame seed bagels but I ordered the plain, everything and salted bagels. Salt bagel is the best one but could use more salt. Crispy outside and soft inside- well baked but I think for something so hyped up popup should have more unqiue/overall more flavorful bagels than salt, poppy, everything plain and sesame. Additionally the concept of three bagels and one tub cream cheese worked since there was three of us but we all had to get the same cream cheese flavor and I just find that concept unnecessary. There were also only three cream cheese flavors and two butter choices. Averaged out to about $5.50 a bagel. read more

We finally got around to trying this place since the lines have calmed down. The bagels themselves are kind of just freshly baked bread since you rip and dip them in the schmear. We got butter but should have definitely gone with the cream cheese. We got everything and plain. I think the "bagels" are great and fresh just I would not go back for myself since I really just want one bagel with one spread. read more

My friends and I went pretty much right at opening before work. It was great way to start the mornings. Service was good and I loved that they had some chairs outside for dining. I thought the bagels and spreads were really good. It was a fun concept to rip and dip. Although if the bagels aren't eaten within an hour the ripping gets hard. I don't love that you can't you order single bagels and the sizes of the spreads don't vary. I think Popup is great to try once in a while if there's no lines. I definitely wouldn't wait 30+ minutes to try. read more

I want to not like this so much because it's definitely overpriced ($15 for 3 bagels with cream cheese and no option to customize the number of bagels?), but it was delicious. I don't like toasted bagels because it dries them out and messes with the texture, but so rarely do you get truly fresh bagels served to you still hot. There's something magical about getting a bag of three piping hot bagels and scooping them into delicious spicy scallion cream cheese that just hits different than room temperature or toasted bagels. Fine, yes, I will be back. It's better to split with friends given the forced 3-bagel order, but I'm sure they would freeze well too. There's a second floor with seating as well as patio seating outside, but come early if you want to be sure to get a table; it was hopping by 9. Service was fast and efficient. Cream cheese flavors rotate weekly (and I can say spicy scallion was a great one). I wish they gave slightly more bagel for the volume of cream cheese, but really I enjoyed it quite a bit. read more

The bagels are pretty darn good. Nice size that's not too big not too small. Great crisp outside and nice interior. Gets more chew as it cools though will not be your thing if you're looking for a really toothsome bagel like Bethesda or Yael. Super excited and friendly staff for the opening. Real star is the schmears though! All of them are delicious and the flavors not as overpowering as you might think from the banes. Unfortunately, can't quite get over pricing at $15 for 3 bagels or $46 for 12... So all in all a fun experience to try but not a replacement for tried and true DMV bagel shops.
