We took the recommendations of others and ordered ahead and walked over to get our order. It was probably an hour from order to ready and they had a line out the door and down the block. Very nice staff inside cranking out the yummies. All three bagels were correct, fresh and huge. We also ordered a massive strawberry chocolate cookie that was soft and yummy on the train later. The impossible sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on the herb garlic cheese bagel is the BEST bagel sandwich I have ever had. If only I lived close by I could have it again and again. The honey could've been spicier for me and the bacon was a little soggy/undercooked for my taste but the flavors were amazing. This was such a hearty bagel I could only get through half of it for breakfast. With that I can speak on the reheat-ability of the bagel which is easily a 7/10 in the air-fryer, how do I know that? After having the legitimate worst bagel experience of my life at Bullfrog Bagels in the Washington DC train station, I was down on myself. Maybe it was my fault. Even though my expectations were in the gutter, maybe I was still expecting too much from a DC bagel fresh off the train from New York. Been wanting to try Call Your Mother for a while now. Several locations where I live but have been too lazy to go. What do you know, a block from where I'm staying I had to try a breakfast bagel. Came here around 12PM on a Monday, thought it would be slow but there was a crowd. Took about 15 mins for my bagel sandwich, not too bad but should have ordered online vs. waiting at the busy shop. I ordered a single latke and the breakfast bagel sandwich with pastrami. OMG, the bagel is HUGE, luckily I hadn't eaten all day so it filled me up! The bagel itself was good, love a toasted bagel but this was delicious. The pastrami was filling and had amazing flavor and the hot honey was a nice addition, almost wish there was more. I've always been a fan of a warmer sandwich option so the Jetski seemed like a good option to go to outside of my fav, which will stay a secret for now. The Jetski slough not as fu as other options definitely packed a punch. The only fault that I could find was that it was shockingly salty and I do mean SALTY like a runner up for prom queen. I was on the search for a great bagel shop when visiting Washington DC. After doing some research, I saw that Call Your Mother had different locations but were known for their great food. I ordered online so that I'd be able to pick up when arriving at the store. My boyfriend and I decided to try the Thunderbird bagel and hibiscus lime refreshers. When I arrived at the shop there was a line going out the door. I went straight to the pick up counter and to my despair, the lady told me I must have set my online order to pick up at a different location. Luckily, they were super accommodating and prepared my order, which was ready in a quick 10 minutes. Since they have outdoor seating, that's where we decided to dig in. Hands down one of the BEST bagels I've ever tasted. It was so warm and flavorful, with a unique taste that I've never had. My favorite aspects were the salt & pepper bagel and the spicy honey added. The hibiscus lime refresher was the most flavorful yet refreshing drink ever. It wasn't too sugary and it didn't taste watery either. Okay, what great bagels, drinks and service? We'll this is a great breakfast spot to come to and we always my go to spot when in D.C. I found this spot actually first in Georgetown, then found out that there was one in walking distance of the hotel we stay at when visiting my daughter, who attends Howard University. I love salmon and there is always an abundance on my bagel. I tried a Lavender Latte and forgot it was coffee. Not my favorite, so I will have to choose a different drink next time. Call Your Mother was just around the corner from our hotel, so I had it twice for breakfast. The decor and color scheme inside is pastel and very whimsical; I like all of the retro phones all over the wall. They have a pretty extensive list of bagel sandwiches, including some that are more unconventional than others--IIRC, there was one with peach cream cheese and potato chips (we did not get that). The first bagel sandwich my partner and I tried was the Hidden Cove, which had nori, smoked salmon, carrots, marinated cucumber, and avocado. We got it on a maple-salt-and-pepper bagel, which is a flavor I have never encountered at a bagel shop. In addition to the bagel, we ordered a chocolate babka muffin. The combo of flavors was great; I am a texture person and like veggies for extra crunch. It would be awesome if they had a kimchi cream cheese to go with this sandwich! Sadly, I wasn't the most impressed by the bagel, which was more airy and had less bite. I much prefer the bagels at Pearl's in Penn Quarter, which have a crispy outside and chewy inside. The babka muffin was amazing toasted and super tender and chocolatey--no notes. The second time I came to CYM, I tried the Royal Palm (lox, cucumbers, tomato, red onion, capers) on a sesame bagel, which is my litmus test for bagel shops. Again, good flavor, decent price, but slightly underwhelming bagel. Still, Call Your Mother Deli is a fun and relatively affordable neighborhood breakfast joint and I really enjoyed all of the out-of-the-box flavor combos. read more

I rate this four stars because past times I have been to this establishment, the service kind of takes a while and once the bagel is cold (especially if you got a toasted or warm bagel) it's not as enjoyable. This is, of course, because the bagels are delicious and the chain is incredibly popular. I definitely recommend getting one of their premade bagels, and if you want to change out the type of bagel, I suggest making the bagel in the "make your own bagel" section and switching out the bagel flavor, but nothing else. their seasonal lattes are also good and whichever shop you go into, it's usually decorated very cute and there's merch for sale. read more

The place was busy and very small inside, but they were prompt in making our food and coffees.
