Grace and Claudia set the tone from the moment I arrived. They were upbeat, personable, and genuinely engaging. What stood out was how naturally they connected with customers. There was no robotic "customer service" routine. They talked to people like human beings, paid attention, smiled, joked, and created an atmosphere that felt relaxed and welcoming. You can tell they have built real rapport with many of the customers who come through the door. I also want to recognize the people whose work may happen more behind the scenes. Juan Carlos and Solomon, the cooks, deserve a huge amount of credit. A restaurant can have wonderful front-of-house service, but none of that works without a strong kitchen. These two are part of the team making everything happen, and their work absolutely deserves to be acknowledged. The kitchen is demanding, fast-paced work, and having people back there who consistently keep things moving is essential. And then there is Javier, the busser, who is another important part of the experience. Bussers are sometimes overlooked, but they shouldn't be. Javier was attentive and constantly helping keep things clean, organized, and ready for customers. That kind of effort makes a noticeable difference in how a restaurant feels. What impressed me most was the teamwork. Grace, Claudia, Juan Carlos, Solomon, and Javier all have different responsibilities, but together they create the experience customers actually remember. You could see that this was not simply a group of employees performing separate jobs. There was a rhythm to the place and a sense that everyone was contributing. Restaurants are ultimately about people. You can have a great menu and a great location, but the staff determines whether customers feel like coming back. This team makes you want to come back. Do not order 20-30 mins from closing time, unless you want to get food from Mucho Not. Ordered on Uber Eats and was able to get a refund, but still no excuse for this location to send out the food the way they did. I ordered about 20-25 mins before closing time to get food delivered. I normally don't order from places that are close to closing time, but I've never had a bad food experience from any of the Poquito Mas locations until tonight. Ordered the side order of chips and 4 of of salsa. The chips were super stale. Stale enough that my buddy cut the top of his mouth from one. Ordered the mild salsa and it tasted like they added water to the pico de gallo salsa they have. Ordered the chicken mucho mas burrito. With the markup it was $19. There were only 3-4 small chewy pieces of chicken. The chicken was chewy like it was microwaved and they put about 1.5 cups of beans to compensate. Ordered carnitas mucho mas burrito. I've been a customer for over 20 years at all surrounding area poquito mas, Studio city , Burbank, former Noho location, even OC etc.. The food quality has been the Major reason why. The staff has been pretty consistent with good service in general. However, from time to time there tends to be an an employee or two to change the direction. In this case she said her name was Lilly at the studio location. I walked in after calling for over 10 min with no answer. It was about 9:15 pm no answer , I arrive about 9:25 pm. I hear liily telling everyone there is no Asada meat, no carnitas, nothing other than a little but of shrimp and maybe a little chicken. She was making the decision to slow down to close early and not have to make additional meals. In all the years I've been going to all locations no one has really done that. Service is always good and they are willing to prepare all meals till closing. That was very disappointing when an employee takes it upon themselves to play owner and decide what can be served and when to close. That really impacts the business without the awareness of ownership and maybe management. We don't need employees taking in business decisions like that. read more

Placed an order through Uber Eats from this location since the Burbank location was closed. I ordered a steak tostada, and while it initially tasted fine, that quickly changed when I found a spider in my food. It appeared to be buried underneath the lettuce at the bottom of the bowl--so it clearly wasn't something that just landed on top. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, Israel. His response was dismissive--he said he didn't know how it could have happened, offered zero apology, and told me to take it up with Uber Eats. No concern, no accountability, no attempt to make it right. Finding a spider in your food is completely unacceptable, disgusting, and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food handling practices. The lack of basic customer service and accountability made it even worse. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled shows a serious disregard for food safety and customer experience. I've got my usual favorites, but when I passed by this Poquito Mas I thought I would give it a try. It's a small, no-frills place with a simple setup. The menu had a nice variety, but I was in the mood for something classic, so I kept it easy: one chicken taco, and one steak. The tortillas were soft and warm. You can tell they were made fresh or at least with care. The chicken was well-seasoned, slightly on the dry side but still tasty. The steak way Juicy, tender, and grilled just right that made every bite count. Both tacos were topped with a generous scoop of pico de gallo, fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and a little green onion mixed in. The salsa they gave on the side added a tangy kick that tied everything together. And the chips on there sure were crisp and salty. So a good taco stop if you're in the area. It may be a result of them grilling their burritos briefly to make the tortilla toasty. This is the first of their three or so locations. Tonight I came in for one of my favorite offerings in their menu - The Studio Plate. I placed my order and patiently waited. Once my buzzer went off I went to the counter to pick up my much anticipated dinner. To my dismay they had given my Spanish rice underneath my chicken breast. I pointed out to the portly woman cashier that they'd mistakenly put Spanish rice instead of the white rice. She quickly snapped back, "It's not a mistake, we ran out of white rice for the night." No apology or offer to get something else instead. I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting and much less attempt to reason with such an obtuse individual. To the owner or manager: check your camera at 4:55 PM last Friday and you will see me enter your restaurant and make eye contact with a cashier coming out of the kitchen door to speak with another employee seated at one of the tables. No one in the restaurant except one couple, not a good sign. I came to place three orders to go. Was completely ignored by the female employee who turned her back to me while I was waiting at the register for over two minutes. The two cooks stared at me and then just looked over at her but did not try to get her attention. I left your location and took my $100 order somewhere else. Right on the corner of Cahuenga Blvd West and the 101, this is the original Poquito Mas restaurant. A small parking lot, be prepared to find a spot on the street, cause it's usually crowded. I have ordered my share of items on the menu but a few of my favorites are the Chile Pasilla Plate, steak tacos and the San Lucas burrito. The salsa cart has all the sauces you need to spice up your dish with flavor. The staff is courteous and the place is clean with low volume music in the background. Came back because i was in the area and needed something easy and quick... the food was okay, i usually get the chicken tostada, the tostada bowl tasted old so did the guacamole that comes inside... that wasn't my biggest issue though. I have never bought a burrito from here so i asked the cashier if she had just a burrito with rice, beans, meat, cheese... she started charging everything as a make your own and charged me like $17 for the burrito. It's really so sad that in 2025 they still don't have a vegan protein. It's nice to have a veggie burrito as an option but adding tofu and or any other plant-based protein would be very inclusive. Vegan don't only want to eat veggie, we would like to also eat protein. Especially for a restaurant in LA, they really need to modernize. Hi I've been coming here for years and this is the first time the steak ain't steaking. I ordered 2 steak burritos and it was all mush. The meat seemed shredded and it wasn't carnitas that's forsure. Seems they are using a different type of meat because of the price increase in meat. I don't know if they are also doing this with the tacos but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
