Happy hour nachos and carne asada fries
    Myrna P.

We went on a Monday around 3 pm and no waiting, but it was happy hour so we decided to try it, I ordered a strawberry margarita and it was very good, carne asada fries were good, a good portion too, and we ordered the happy hour nachos and we really like them even the portion was very good too, it was very good service...

We arrived around 4:30pm on a weekday, and seated promptly indoors. The server arrived quickly and set down cold waters (super appreciate it) and we started off with two glasses of Horchata (good by the way). We then ordered nachos and 2 taco salads. The nachos were part of their Happy Hour menu - and I definitely recommend it to share. They're delicious! The Taco Salad is a good size (good if you're super hungry) but in retrospect may be meant for 2 people to share if you are also having nachos. Overall a great place to eat if you want something different on Universal City Walk!

A perfectly balanced strawberry margarita by Bianca. So very delicious and great for a sunny day like today. Last time I was here it was a little bitter. Nice and quiet with a very friendly staff. A lovely breeze outdoors and it feels like vacation. The bar food is flavorful and my husband really liked the mini quesadillas. I might try the churros and maybe the nachos.. maybe even in that order. Hah! YOLO.

I was there for a company event. This place has one of the best Mexican foods I've had so far. The restaurant is located at City Walk, and parking is easy to find. If you are going to Universal Studios, you can't miss this place. The service was excellent and attentive. The servers checked on us and provided great service.

Came here for dinner before fan fest. We sat at the bar and were helped right away. The chicken strips were actually really good. They have a good happy hour menu too. May turn into my regular spot to stop by now that I have my Universal pass.

We stopped by Antojitos for a bite to eat before heading to the Hello Kitty Café, and it was a good choice. The Fiesta Salmon was tasty, perfectly cooked with bright citrus rice, sautéed peppers, and plenty of onions (which I absolutely loved). The kids were happy with their quesadillas and fries, and the guacamole with chips and quesabirria minichangas were the perfect appetizers to share. The margarita and mojito were refreshing. My mom is vegan and got the jackfruit tacos with a side salad. I appreciate that our server, Katie was patient and fully explained the ingredients for the dish. It's a fun, vibrant, and stylish vibe inside which is good for families and celebrations. The service was pretty attentive without feeling rushed. We'll be back again.

We stopped in for dinner at City Walk. It was busy and they told us it would be about a 30 minute wait. When we were finally seated we opted for outdoor seating on such a nice night. Staff was super friendly and mentioned it might be a bit slow with the special night event happening at Universal. Lots of food options to choose from. Despite that, the food came out pretty quick. We ordered chips and guacamole, my daughter got rice and beans and my husband and I shared the fish tacos. Food was ok, not as good as the last time we came. This may have been due to the event happening but it was still a bit disappointing.

We went here for an early dinner with friends. The place is beautifully decorated and the vibe is great. The food was delicious and excellent. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to us. Always checking in on us to make sure we have everything we need. We would definitely be back.

I dined at Antojitos before catching a late-night movie at AMC and, wow, did those nachos hit the spot! Absolutely delicious food and it was pretty lively for a Tuesday night. The service was fine; we came in an hour before closing and we were still welcomed and never rushed at any point. I would've appreciated a couple more check-ins as we only interacted with our server to order and close out our bill, but still the food was great and I definitely would come back. The topping distribution on those nachos was amazing and perfectly balanced with the amount of chips. They don't skimp out on the cheese at all! We also had the Tinga Taquitos which had the perfect crunch and the tinga was pretty flavorful and not dry at all. An overall great dining experience and I will dream about those nachos until my next visit.

Break out your Universal Studios Season passes for your 15% Discount for Mexican food this place is pricy! Rent on the City Walk ain't cheap and neither is the vibrant ambiance! Neon lights, decorative tile, murals, mood lighting and ornate booth styling they spared no expense for you to feast your eyes before feasting on the food. Our waiter Jonesy (who was also the bartender) was fashion forward, patient attentive and knowledgeable! The teen was indecisive and is learning the harsh lessons of managing their money and the theme park adjacent food choices. After much deliberation and questioning our waiter was right there and ready when we were! Pure attentive excellence from someone doing double duty of running the bar and being our waiter. Although it was an off time (3pm) the bar was still pretty packed! I ordered the one vegan marked meal on the menu of the jackfruit tacos. Having an item that isn't just a basic bizchazz bland salad, this checks the vegan friendly box for me! The teen ordered the chicken fajitas The teen's critique in the fajitas... it needs more chicken and no burn marks on it (the teen has a nickname of mini-chef Ramsey) The jackfruit tacos were great! A little on the salty side for me but still good and flavorful! The corn tortilla was soft, tasty, and the pickled onions were perfect! The refried beans were also tasty and rivaled the recipe I make at home! They really helped to tame the saltiness from the jackfruit. The size of the meal was perfect and satisfying for me but may be on the small side for others as it comes with only 3 tacos. Overall I'm happy to pay for the excellence in service and the food was decent but not exceptional.

*Subject: Feedback on Recent Experience** I wish to express my concerns regarding a recent experience at your establishment. On Wednesday, September 24, 2026, around 8:30 to 9:00 PM, my husband and I visited to celebrate his birthday. We left at approximately 9:40 PM after spending time in the bar area, where we were attended by Jonesy and another bartender who wore lemon earrings. While our initial experience was satisfactory, we later realized that my sister's black Coach bag, valued at over $400, was missing. We attempted to contact the restaurant immediately, but it had already closed. The following morning, we reached out to Universal Studios Security, our hotel security, and the shuttle service we used, but unfortunately, we could not locate the bag. The restaurant was the last place we had the bag in our possession. Upon calling security again the next morning, I was informed that there were no security cameras; however, I observed two cameras upon my arrival at the restaurant. I had the opportunity to speak with Michelle, who appeared disinterested in addressing my concerns and demonstrated a lack of customer service skills. She also stated that the camera is only pointed at the register when I told her we were sitting right in front of the register. Never been to a restaurant where they don't have cameras for safety and security reasons. Owners should add more cameras if that truly is the case. Recommend sending her to classes for customer service because wow. I requested to speak with the manager on duty that night, identified as Andrew, and left my contact information for a follow-up. Despite being informed that he would arrive at 3 PM, I never received a call back. Everyone I spoke to regarding this matter believes the staff had something to do with it which really sad because we would never want to accuse someone without proof but based off how they are treating the matter that is most likely the case to believe now. As a frequent visitor to this restaurant--having dined there several times with family during our visits to Universal Studios--I have always recommended it to friends and family. However, due to this recent experience, I regret to say that we will not be returning to your establishment, which I suspect may not concern you.

I have been at this restaurant many times and for the most part it was good. Today however was just different. Management really needs to look into customer service! I came with my family for some lunch. We did not have to at all since the place was not busy, great! We ordered our food and drinks and just sat there waiting. Usually they would bring out salsa and chips until our food arrives. My kids wanted guacamole and chips, which we ordered. Our food arrived about 15-20 minutes later with our guacamole, salsa and chips. My son wanted tacos with just tomatoes. We were told the restaurant doesn't have plain chopped tomatoes ‍. Yet the restaurant serves pico de gallo. We ended up receiving our salsa, guacamole and chips halfway through our meal. Our server/bartender didn't approach our table until I asked for a manager. Not cool at all. This will most likely be my last time returning here, since the service has changed. The restaurant was not busy and this type of service is not excusable.

Went at lunchtime. Half of the restaurant is empty. The food is okay. We ordered al paster tacos, chicken mole enchiladas. Rice was undercooked. Taco shells are hard. The service was great. Food 1.5/5 Service 5/5

If you grew up in LA like I did, this was definitely THE spot...and honestly, it still is. The interior is packed with old school charm: dim lighting, warm red and yellow accents, cozy booths, and a dining room that's instantly recognizable. But don't sleep on the outdoor patio either. It's absolutely beautiful, complete with its own bar and plenty of seating for those perfect evenings out. Casa Vega is famous for its margaritas and classic Mexican American comfort food. It's not outright authentic, but it's nostalgic and hasn't changed for decades. During my last visit, I kept it simple with a cheese enchilada, a perfectly medium rare cooked steak taco, and spicy beans and rice. While each item was simple, it was done perfectly. Definitely get the combination so you can try a little bit of everything. Like I said earlier, For me Casa Vega is all about nostalgia. The familiar flavors, the atmosphere, and those feel good vibes that keep people coming back year after year. It's a staple because we all grew up with it so if you're someone here dining for the first time, keep that in mind. Last pro tip: there is $10 valet parking which honestly saves you from trying to find parking on the main boulevard so I would say just go with it.

The chips and tableside guacamole were on point, and the chiquita salad is still one of the best things on the menu. the service was a completely different story. The host seated us, and it turned out he was also our waiter. We waited so long that I finally got up and ordered my own drinks at the bar. I even told the bartender, I m at that table if you see my waiter, send him over. When the host finally came by, he seemed annoyed that I ordered drinks at the bar. No introduction, just, k , you ordered drinks. What do you want to eat. It came across as rude and felt like they were seriously understaffed. Somewhere between the salsa and the second margarita, I started wondering if I had accidentally wandered into the Casa Vega from an alternate universe bizarro world were the mexicans were gone just joking don't cancel me. The old school waiters who had been there for years are gone, and the whole experience feels different. To put it in perspective, they were playing '90s rock music instead of the classic Casa Vega music I still go back because the drinks and the Chiquita salad are absolutely worth it. Just go in knowing the service is not what it used to be, especially considering the extra fees casa charges. My girl and I had a fun time laughing about how this place changed, it was actually a fun night cause the service kept getting worse. They brought out main dish before the salad .

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!
