Loved it. Very cool atmosphere and I loved not being able to decide on what we wanted so we just got a bunch of stuff! The Brussels were perfectly crispy, the spring mix salad was amazing (locally sourced: Ireland Farms) and fresh, pimento cheese platter was wonderful (I love fresh pickles & the pimento cheese tasted like my grandmother's!) , my boyfriend loved the chicken skewers. For our entrees he got the burger and I got the bahn mí, both got fries and he cleaned his plate and my sandwich and fries were delicious reheated at home! Both of my pomegranate mojitos were awesome & our server was really sweet! So excited about the future of Porch! read more

The ambience is cool. Very relaxed setting. Background as the customer. We eat out a lot due to our jobs involving traveling, so my expectations are a little higher as we have been to some really great places. This was very sub par. Menu was short and simple, which I love usually. I ordered soup and some pita bread as an "appetizer". I like to wait for my appetizer before I order food. I advised this three times to the server. Being pregnant, once you start eating who knows what will happen so I try to wait on ordering my entree. It took very long for soup and pita bread to come out. The pita was obnoxiously burnt. I will not send back food, ever. It had the burnt bread taste, and we all know how gross that is. The soup was awesome so I was disappointed at how burnt the pita bread was. I was not feeling the quality of food and how long it took, so my husband and I agreed to ask for the check and leave. I really wish it could've been better. I'm a sucker for Cuban sandwiches. read more

Wow the blackened catfish was fantastic with black eyed peas. I should have gotten the black eyed and chick pea soup but I went for the chocolate bread pudding with raspberry sauce instead. Oh, this is a great place-wide open space for social distancing, everyone is wearing masks, patio is nice for a sunny day-just cold today. Our experience at porch was fantastic last night. It started with walking in and may being very nervous going into a restaurant for the first time since March 2020. The tables were so well spaced this wait staff was all well mast it felt very comfortable. Now onto the food. This restaurant was clearly one of the best restaurants we've eaten at Orr from since moving to Birmingham in March 2020. The cabbage pancake called Oko Was unbelievable. It was so delicious and so beautifully presented. The brussels sprouts had the largest chunks of Wisconsin ham and were by far superb. We can't wait to go back. read more

Had the banh mi. Chicken was a little dry. Crispy Brussels appetizer was delicious. Atmosphere was good, family friendly, went late-ish on a Friday and got a table for six no problem. Server was very knowledgeable and responsive. Didn't give 5 stars since the entree didn't knock my socks off but this place is solidly good, worth a try. I will go again. read more

When everything goes wrong for the day - a cancelled flight, a shortened layover so food was grabbed on the run and no help at the hostess station of the hotel restaurant, The Porch was an oasis tonight. The tunes were funky and retro and the food selection eclectic. My husband could have a kick ass burger with Brussel sprouts he couldn't stop bragging about and I had some wonderful veggies. Porch has become one of our favorite neighborhood spots! We went for Saturday lunch and had a great spot on the patio to watch the football games. We had the Oko with a fried egg and the chicken bahn mi. Both were fantastic, if you are a first timer the Oko is a must try, but the chicken bahn mi is quickly becoming one of our favorites. The Saturday drink specials were amazing as well. Happy to have Porch in the village! read more

Great new restaurant in Crestline. Different and delicious food with a fun and laidback atmosphere. It will become your new favorite place.

We ate at Porch last night with a large group and it did not disappoint. The group was a servers worst nightmare I'm sure, frequently changing places to talk with different people, etc. but the servers never confused any drink or item ordered. The food was fantastic! We had the oko, hummus, shisito peppers, burgers, salads, fish sandwiches and more and it was so good. Highly recommend this place. Good vibe with great servers and fantastic food is a winning combination. Can't wait to come back. read more

Love Porch! Everything is so tasty here. The fries and brussels are incredible, and I love the fried chicken and farro bowl. I would say the menu is a bit random, and after over a year, it's gotten a little repetitive, especially since everything is kinda specific. read more

I have eaten here multiple times , both for lunch and dinner, and am pleased to report all meals have been FANTASTIC! Porch has *consistently provided courteous service and excellent food. I am not a go-to salad gal, but both of their salad options (my favorite is the romaine w grilled chicken) are out of this world with fresh, locally sourced and specialty curated ingredients. Came back to Porch this weekend for the fourth time! I hate to say this, but the food quality was subpar this go round. I always get The Oko when I'm there, it's always the highlight of my meal, the other night it was just a soggy mess! The seasonings were off, it was too wet, and it the sauce wasn't the same. For my main course, I went with the burger. The burger is FANTASTIC.....except for the grilled onions. They tasted as if the moisture had been sucked out of the onion and replaced with salt! They basically ruined my tastebuds for the remainder of the evening. This review is getting two stars due the how good the burger was once I decided to remove the onions. I'll steer clear from The Oko for a while, as I'd love to see this dish get back to its greatness. As far as service goes, I can't remember her name, but she wasn't all there, it's as if she was on some meds or something. She didn't mess any of our order up, but something was off about her. I'll probably be back to Porch, just not anytime soon. read more

I wanted to try this restaurant three times before writing a review. Now that I have, I can say with full authority that this restaurant is fantastic, and makes a wonderful addition to the city. The dishes I tried over the course of my visits included: the oko, a savory appetizer of Korean origin built upon a cabbage pancake base that I had zhuzhed up with pulled pork shoulder and a sunny-side egg (my mouth waters remembering the ponzu aioli); the tasty chicken skewers, which make a nice app that can be shared; curried sweet potato soup, which maybe don't share(?); the fried fish po-boy, which is something I don't usually order because it's so often "too much" because I think that kind of bread is too dense, but severed up at Porch is so nice and light, leaving you full but not feeling like you're about to nosedive into a food coma; and most recently the cubano sandwich. This is a sandwich that I will inevitably return to time and time again. Again we have a sandwich that is often "too much" and dense, but at Porch is pitch-perfect. It's served with a sweet hot mustard, but don't think "deli mustard." This had an Asian exoticism to it that made me want to drink like a shot, slam it down, and order another! The atmosphere is relaxed, clean, and friendly, and every server I've had has treated me with an unforced kindness that felt like a friendly reunion each visit. I can't wait to go back, and I can't recommend it enough. read more
