Porcini was my choice as a caterer for my daughter's at-home wedding. I selected the Antipasto Platter and Cheese Board with Seasonal Fruit, and their delicious buttermilk crackers. to start with followed by a Platter of Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches with Roasted Red Peppers, Mozzarella, and Arugula. The hot tray included Penne Mac and Cheese and Sausage and Onion over Linguini with garlic bread. For desserts there were assorted pastry , peach bourbon pie, cannoli's and tiramisu. To top it all off Chris was able to do a "naked" strawberry round cake topped with a ring of strawberries to which we added our own topper. I must say that everything that day was perfect, generous trays of freshly prepared food and delivered in easy heating trays. If I could give 6 stars I would. We finally had a chance to try Porcini and were very impressed. The service was excellent thanks John! For a busy night, he and the other waitress were fantastic and made sure everyone had what they needed. All We had the calamari, ceasar salad and caprese salad. People in our party had the NY Strip, Seafood pasta, Spaghetti with meat sauce and scallops. All of our food, from appetizers to our dinner, were cooked to perfection, piping hot and delicious. I have just moved to the area and exploring the neighborhood. Everything was excellent from the service to the food. I had a tuna dish that was perfectly cooked. Thanks to Yelp I found this gem! It doesn't look much on the outside, but the inside is very nice. Best crab cakes I ever had here! My other favorite entree here is this amazing veal dish special they had over the weekend. It was superb! The pastas are all homemade and melt in your mouth. All the desserts are excellent here and the best one was a carrot cake I had it was perfection from the frosting to the perfectly moist cake. It was also a special, but it should be added to the menu. The toll house brownie also very good. The only dish I though needed more seasoning and I didn't care too much for was the halibut special they had one night. But all in all this place truly deserves 5 stars! It's also BYOB which is also a plus. I don't give 5 stars to many places unless it's truly excellent from start to finish. This place is my new go to spot. read more

An awesome BYOB spot in a great little beach town! The food at Porcini is delicious and made with love. Their eggplant is by far the best around. The wait staff are very nice, food is incredible and the owner was at the table asking what we liked and didn't like, which was a very positive one sided conversation, because it was great! I'm so disappointed! Based on the ratings I thought this place was going to be special. It wasn't! Food: Fritto Misto - fried calamari and zucchini, marinara sauce was too salty. I had a strip steak special which had a citrus flavor. The meat was very good, but the flavor didn't work for me. I tried a taste of the scallops and halibut, both were fishy. After dinner I had some kind of almond cake thing. It was too dry for me. Value: Expensive. Atmosphere: Mid-scale, energetic, a bit cramped. Service: Efficent (for the most part) and very friendly. Drinks: BYOB. You would think from the description of the dishes and presentation that the food would be great, but the cooking and flavors were not to my liking. Fantastic! My dad and I went for Christmas Eve. We had the eggplant rollatini and mushroom tart for appetizers. My dad had the crab cakes and I had the mushroom fettucine with grilled shrimp added for entrees. We had the cheesecake du jour, which was white chocolate caramel, for dessert. The pasta is homemade, which I don't think I've ever had before. Fresh made pasta is lighter and doesn't fill you up the way store bought does, so that was an added bonus in addition to the delicious flavor of the dish, which was what I would describe as a combination of carbonara and marsala sauces. The sauce on the eggplant was incredible. I could have eaten it by itself, it's how I imagine tomato sauce tastes in Italy. The mushroom tart was also excellent with its flaky puff pastry and creamy goat cheese. The crab cakes were huge and packed with fresh crab. Expensive, but worth it. Elegant and intimate atmosphere, it's a tiny place. I can't wait to go back for their weeknight price fix menu. read more

We hadn't been to Porcini in a while and came back last night. I have to say, this was one of the best meals we've had this year!!! The tuna tartar appetizer was perfectly seasoned and the tuna was amazing. Chef Chris's oysters Rockefeller are what this dish is all about. Huge oysters, perfectly done spinach and a great secret sauce on top- all which adds up to serious deliciousness! Their Caesar salad was a great version of this classic! We ordered the two specials of the night and indeed they were special: veal that was sliced thin with all sorts of amazing goodies on the plate was incredible. Each bite was a taste sensation...this was a great dish. The special fish of the night was Chilean Sea Bass was also wonderful---an almost sweet crust, perfectly cooked...it was amazing as well. Porcini is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Living in New York city, I am used to some of the top restaurants in the Country. Porcini is right up there with the best of them. The Beet and Goat Cheese salad was outstanding and the Halibut was terrific. All the Desserts are home-made and an excellent way to top of the meal. The staff is very friendly and the service was great. While casually glancing at some of the other dishes at other tables, the Scallops and Ossobuco looked incredible. I curbside picked up dinner for husbands birthday from Porcini (during the Covid-19 ordeal). We ordered appetizers, flat bread and crab cakes, both were excellent. I got the scallops and my husband got the rigatoni and meatballs. Finally got to try Porcini and everything about this place was comfortable and homey. You could tell the waiter was proud of the food and welcomed our being there. The noise level was such that we could easily hear each other talk. My friend and I had the pork oso buco- it was wonderful. My wife loved the skirt steak and our other friend loved the fish special. I made reservations for my next visit before leaving. Well prepared, friendly, and you can even enjoy talking with the low noise level. I loved everything about it.
