Used to love eating here. Good southern food. Biscuits the size of your head at brunch....the old gentleman who used to walk the dining room would pack me an extra one for home after brunches. After covid, have not visited until recently for quick late lunch. The salad which used to be great was pathetic and sad. Hoping it was an off day or something. Will give them another try for lunch. But I have loved this place for brunch, lunch and dinner visits. The bread basket is delicious, the rolls are divine and food is honest good cooking. Nice patio for dogs too. Staff has always been kind and professional. The kitchen does make good food and I used to totally recommend for southern food in this area. I heard there was an ownership change so maybe that is why it was different on the last visit? The picture is the menu from Sept. 9th visit during lunch so probably accurate. Will try again for lunch. Update- scallops salad is awesome. Like Maggiano's salad with scallops and so much better. I usually hate "fancy" limp salads...I like the trashy salads- romaine& iceberg. Crunchy fresh. But this salad works. The limp baby arugula (maybe) works in this. Scallops seared and cooked correctly. No need for shake of salt or black pepper really. Great salad!! Rolls- I take back. The Parker house rolls are not worth it and they no longer serve the cute muffins of corn and bran I think. Those were so good. The rolls are what I consider a rip-off. Not worth it. Fish and chips....i personally did not like but others may. Crust falls completely off, cornmeal crust...lazy way to get "crispy" crust. It is ok but I did not enjoy and would not recommend personally. Cole slaw is what you think of when you envision cafeteria coleslaw---but not soggy since better "elevated" cuts of veggies. No flavor. Don't waste calories or $. Overall- still good place for lunch. Service is mixed. Weird wait at hostess stand at noon with servers looking back but not greeting. Lag in wait for drinks. But staff is always nice.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch. I came with a group of 7 people and a dog. We chose to come here as they provided outdoor seating and after talking with the hostess she joined 2 tables together to accommodate us. While we waited for our waiter, someone comes and tells us that we have to sit seperately and they needed for us to sit like that for people to walk through. This was annoying as there really wasn't anyone there at the patio and they not only made us put that table together, they made US move it apart as well. However, our server was amazing. He really was so kind and got us treats for the dog. The food was okay, I felt it was quite salty. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately not

This is one of the best restaurants in the Atlanta area. The food here is always cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Any dish you order is a great choice. There are several people on the wait staff making for a quality experience. Any server you get rest assured that you're in good hands. The environment itself is clean and well run. The chef and owner is closely engaged with how the restaurant functions at a high level. I've been going here for years as my parents are locals and we've never had a bad meal or experience. I recommend Southern Bistro with the utmost confidence

My salad was great! The portion size was just fine. And the dressing was on the lighter side which i enjoyed since steak was a heavy option.

I finally made it to Southern Bistro! This local Bistro is the best of feeling like a comfortable, local gem for anyone with the addition of truly delicious food and good service. I went for dinner and enjoyed the bread rolls and fried green tomatoes to start. Yum! The bread was warm and yeasty and green tomatoes came with goat cheese and delicious toppings. For dinner I enjoyed the duck and sweet potato gratin(so rich) and my date had steak frites. We finished our plates. The weekends in particular get busy so you'll want to make a reservation. The parking lot has ample space! Prices are great for the quality.

Great service and great quality food I ordered the buttermilk biscuit breakfast and the food was so beautifully made. I also enjoyed their selection of hot loose tea. It was a really great place to enjoy brunch and great plates as well.

Saw that this restaurant had high ratings, so I came here for brunch on Sunday but it didn't live up to the hype. I made a reservation online beforehand. I got to try a couple of dishes - the Egg Benedict, Egg White Omelet, and Breakfast Biscuit. The breakfast biscuit was huge but unfortunately really dry. The egg Benedict was a little salty. Although food was okay, service was great. The waitress was super nice and would come check up on us frequently. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere since we sat indoors.

Service excellent. The food was ok. But 18.00 for a plain hamburger seems excessive.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.

Attentive, but not bothersome. I ordered the special ~ four succulent shrimp on top of salmon on top of mashed potatoes, blanketed with a rich, creamy and tasty sauce, accompanied by steamed asparagus. It was a pretty plate. It was a delicious meal! In fact, I forgot to take a photo. However, I was mostly done when felt a slim bone at the back of my throat and, while discreetly trying to get rid of it, Christian, the manager must have noticed something strange about me because, although he and the staff were hustling around, busy working, he inquired about my well being. I explained the situation as best I could while fishing for the bone with my tongue. The bone is now lodged near the back of my throat. After a few minutes I managed to remove it. I stopped eating the salmon in favor of the dessert that was included with the meal ~ lava cake!!! Before leaving, I ordered their delicious broccoli cauliflower casserole and some rotisserie chicken for later. When I saw the bill my mouth was agape. I asked, "What happened?" The manager, Christian, took it upon himself to remove the meal from my bill. That's the way you treat a customer!
