This is the last time I'm coming to this Portillos or any other probably. The last several times I've come to Portillos whether it's inside or at the drive-through. I wait an excessive amount of time for my food. I have been sitting here now for 15 minutes in the drive-through after ordering and paying and I still have no food and there are four cars in front of me. I don't know what's going on, but it gives the term fast food an entirely new meaning I don't recommend going there unless you have plenty of time to kill when I talk to the staff about the long wait their answer is we're short staffed and doing the best we can which I understand. Wow, placed an online order - checked in with the Curbside Attendant. Got no sticker or acknowledgement of the order, called the Restaurant took 2x and 10 mins on hold to talk to someone. Finally other Attendants acknowledged me sitting there and start to finish an hour of waiting for food. Now only get food that was forgotten, warmed over and terrible quality. read more

Portillo's is amazing! I'd recommend going to the Naperville one because they're paired with Barnelli's (so they have mostaccioli). Caesar salad is amazing!!!! and their shakes are simply delcious (I don't like the cake shake though because it's just a chocolate shake with bits of cake mixed in). Great place to go! Every Friday night for years we have had Portillo's for dinner but I think this ritual is about to change. Over the last 5-6 months the quality of the food has fallen off very noticeably . We have constantly received large fries that are 1/2 to 3/4 full and when you order hot dogs with everything that means onions and relish, not to mention that there is no organization in the drive up lanes. It's a shame because for years Portillo's stood head and shoulders above the rest but not anymore. Covid is not the answer for poor quality and service. read more

Food is good, if you can get it. Every time we have an order delivered it's been missing items and pretty major items. (Both direct through portillos and door dash.) Especially annoying as we usually choose delivery when we are hosting or entertaining and hoping to get the most out of our guest time and less time working in the kitchen. However four times out of four now, I've spent all that hosting time apologizing to guests that our meal is incomplete and the rest of the time on the phone with portillos, trying to track down the missing food. We managed to feed everyone tonight after we gave up and ordered a pizza. I think I've finally learned my lesson. read more

I had lived 50 years in Chicago, so I've had plenty of Portillo's in my time-their Italian beef dipped, hot dog, chicken sandwich, cheese fries, of course. I live in St Louis now, so anytime I'm in town I must have Portillo's. Due to the pandemic, I ordered a meal to be delivered to my hotel. I totally had a taste for their chicken sandwich, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I should have taken a picture, but my phone was charging and out of reach. It was the smallest and most anemic piece of chicken! It was half the size of the bun. I had to tear it in half so that I at least had 2 even skinnier pieces to at least cover the surface area. I will never order from the Oswego location again. Shame on you for having an employee that thought that would be ok to send that out for delivery. read more

Another good lunch at Portillos! Beef croissant with mozzarella (special order) rather than Cheddar. Yum! My favorite is the onion rings. Always the perfect crunch and full onion slices, not chopped. Fries are delicious too. Bathroom was clean -yay! The chocolate cake is amazing but I held back and decided to have a piece another day. Service is fast, efficient and pleasant. Seems like Portillo must be buying there meat from a different seller because the quality of there meat has gone from good to terrible, never in the history of buying my combo sandwich( beef and sausage) did I ever get bone or grizzle,now I do. I will not be going back on route 59 in Aurora.Not only that but when I ask for my sandwich to be dipped I mean wet not dry and when I ask for green Peppers why can't I get them. No joy. Can't get person. End result: promotion isn't being honored by Portillo's. Same day as this attempt the line of cars extended well out of Portillo's property at 4:15 on Friday afternoon. I really appreciated paying $28 for a bag of food and then have the kid tell me to "Have a good one." The only thing that would've made it better is if he actually threw the bag at me. Covid or not my online order has been messed up twice. I only get 30 min for lunch and for me to order online and sit and wait for them to try to fix the order and it still ends up wrong is a problem. I can't even eat the food because my break is over by the time I get back to work. I understand that businesses get overwhelmed and it's busy but paying attention to ensure an order is correct wouldn't take up that much extra time. I've been going to Portillo's for years - I could always expect consistent food and service. Today was terrible. The hot dog casing was tough, the insides came out of it. The taste was not great either. It was a skinny wiener too. I talked to the manager and she they've been having problems lately. Trying to find the right balance between casings that split and not. It's been a problem for a while. I would not order a hot dog from them again if it was like the one I had today. Most bothersome is that they know it's a problem. I absolutely love portillos without question but this portillos is failing! Every time we order food through the drive in we get home and they have forgotten something! Every time! So even when we look through the bags we still find that we are missing something, I would rather wait an extra ten minutes in line and not have to drive back than be shuffled through and have to go back. Portillo's is a go-to when you're hungry and just want something good and fast. My favorite thing to get is the burger. It is juicy and amazing! I remember the first time I got it, expectations were low but it's my go to now. From time to time I will get a Chicago-style hot dog and it's pretty good! Sick to my stomach. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich. When I bit into it it was tough and rubbery.almost as if it wasn't cooked all the way. I've been sick ever since. I called the store and the manager seemed unbothered that someone gave me a raw chicken sandwich. He told me the only thing and can do is give me a refund because I have all my Items. Walked in on a Tuesday night ready for a great dinner. At first, I was greeted by a lovely young male asking if I was ready to give my order. I proceeded to the cash register where I placed my order and use my debit card when I was asked to provide my ID for the card use. If I were to steal a credit card, why would the first place I come be Portillo's? Then I was given a tray the size of the table which resulted in me having to place my tray by the trash can as my food was getting cold. Food was mediocre at best. I love the chocolate cake. Most times I just stop for the cake! The food isn't bad. My staples are a beef with mozzarella cheese & giardiniera peppers, lightly dipped or a hotdog with everything. I came here expecting a great meal ... that I got !!! What I did not get was tasteful coke ... the coke tasted like watered down stale coke. The trays were another issue ... I came here w a group of 4 and the trays are just unnecessary and too darn big , that being said the table were not up to par. I ordered two pepper and egg CROISSANT sandwiches, one large cheese fry, and a small fry. I get home which is about a 15 minute drive and my sandwiches are on French bread not croissants. Then I check the fries the small fry had more fries then the large. The large fry container wasn't even filled half way and there was none at the bottom of the bag. Portillo's, a Chicagoland staple, always deserves 5 stars. But yesterday our service was so great I decided to write a review. We ate inside at the Oswego location and had AMAZING customer service from Adrian. First he came over to our table and offered our kids Portillo's paper hats which the kids loved! Then he walked by later and noticed that my son was being crabby so brought him over another treat! My son didn't necessarily deserve a treat but it was super nice and much appreciated!! Now on to the food...beef and cheddar croissants, hot dogs, crinkle fries (with or without cheese), burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, onion rings, polish sausage sandwich, shakes....you really can't go wrong with anything you order. Now that's one heck of a hot dog! This was my first introduction to a "Chicago-style" hot dog and I was told Portillo's is one of the staple spots in the Chicagloand area. So after a day of exploring, we walked into this little Illinois chain for my first experience. I ordered one Chicago-style hot dog and fries. Verdict? I kind of like a Chicago-style hot dog. I like the peppers, I like the onions and I like the condiments, but I could probably do without a pickle on top so I placed it to the side and ate it later. I really like the atmosphere inside Portillo's because it's homey and looks like a great spot for a family to get a reasonably priced meal. I loved the pictures on the walls and liked to see that you can order the food for catering and they had an entire refrigerator with meats and other signature items from the menu available for take-out. Everything is made to order, and I've never received food that was made wrong when I visit. The atmosphere and ambiance is amazing!! 2 because it's portillo's. I pulled in and was impressed with the the layout of the drive thru and how it was run with numbered post-its instead of those awful little pink tabs the one by me uses. That was where the good impression ended. I ordered a plain hot dog and large fry. Nothing else. I sat there as customers in front of me and behind me got their orders consisting of multiple large plastic bags. When 3 more cars pulled out from behind me, I lost it. WHY should a hot dog and fries take longer than multiple orders with multiple bags of items?!?!?! read more

Went through the drive thru last night and got the wrong order. Live 25 min away so returning was not an option. Spoke to the manager and he said if i'm not willing to drive back to the restaurant then he could mail a coupon to me. I asked if this could be done through e-mail but he said it could only be done through regular mail. Not acceptable. Manager said nothing he could do. Will not be spending my money at this location since I was robbed. Only Portillos I've ever had a bad experience with. FIRED!! read more
