Italian Beef & Sausage Combo w/ sweet peppers
    Dick K.

Classic Portillo's, good food, atmosphere. Had the Beef/Sausage Combo, thought the sausage was a little dry, first time for one of those. Should maybe have gotten some beef gravy added. Beef flavor great as always but a little dry too. Had fries and onion rings too. I really like their crinkle fries. Service was prompt.

4 stars for Portillo's overall. This is a nice location in Rolling Meadows next to a big Walmart. Portillo's is just your average Chicago area chain restaurant with Italian Beef's/Burgers/Hot Dogs/etc. I had the Italian Beef Sandwich juicy with hot peppers, it was good but certainly not as good as a mom and pop Italian beef restaurant. If you need something quick and easy and somewhat Chicago style, stop by Portillo's. Also, download their app - you can earn free food/discounts.

Desserts amazing but chocolate cake slice definitely smaller than in my past experience. Burger was charred too much for me . Cheese fries were good

Ordered a large and this is what was in the bag..

This is how they're selling large fries these days.. yall need to do better charging people out the ass and then giving half an order.

Love the neon signage walking into the restaurant.

Nothing hits like a real Chicago dog from a Chicago legend. The hot Italian beef with sweet & hot peppers was also . We loved the vintage diner decor as well. Of course there's a choice of kiosk ordering or the counter with a real human, so that's up to you. Great experience while in town!

that's a plain HOT DOG and CHEESE FRIES in the carrrrrr

There's not a ton of foods I miss from Chicago...but Portillo's is one of them. And it's not even about the Italian beef or the mayo Chocolate Cake we all like to talk about. Not even the cheese fries or the aforementioned chocolate cake shoved & grinded into a creamy shake. Not even the unreplicable chopped salad. I mean, I love all those things. But what I crave here are their good freaking hot dogs. On my last trip home, my friend and I got hot dogs, cheese fries and ate like monsters in the car together. It was grand. At this location, as with all locations, there will be a line. The wait at Portillo's is similar to the wait I do now at In N Out in LA. You drive up, might pull down the block even to wait, but you wait for the drive thru until the staff takes your order. The staff is so friendly and the line moves pretty fast! Now back to the hot dog, nothing beats the Vienna Beef hot dogs they have at Portillo's. I could pretend I was a good Chicagoan for you and that I get my hot dog with mustard, relish, celery salt, freshly chopped onions, sliced red ripe tomatoes, kosher pickle and sport peppers. However that is horrifying to me and I get my hot dog completely plain, just dog on slightly steamed poppy seed bun. It's so freaking good and why can I not find it in LA?! Curses! However, because I cannot, I will continue to patronize Portillo's when I roll back through town.

Location looks quite different than the average Portillos has a 1950-60 era to it. Food is typical Portillos place is clean and I never ordered from a kiosk at Portillos so that was interesting to do .

While I have been visiting Portillo's all over Illinois and Indiana for at least the last 18 years, this was my first visit to the Portillo's location in rolling Meadows. This place is a flashback in time and literally looks like a 1950s diner and it's absolutely incredible to see the decor and how well-maintained. The place happens to be. It is absolutely nostalgic. Of course this is Portillo's and so they have the standard menu, especially since the sale of the company. However, the quality is still there the speed and the great customer service. This is worth the visit.

I don't know what happened here but today was the day I don't give them another dollar. Burger meat was burnt but so cold the cheese didn't melt. I had to microwave it when I got back to work and just tasteless. I did the drive thru

Everything was great here. Service was great, food was delicious and ambience is casual and very nice. I enjoy visiting the different establishments because each one is unique and different. This is my second best favorite location and I have been to many. I can't wait until Katy, Texas gets theirs up and running but they need one on I-10 going towards the Eastside of Houston, preferably in the NorthShore and Woodforest area. I will definitely come back to this one when I'm in town. My only complaint is that they don't put enough hot peppers on it even though they charge you for them. Today I enjoyed the big beef and fries.

Tried the new "the Leo" sandwich. They rebranded their Italian Beef. Its the same thing. Also had to get a Chicago dog.

Stopped here immediately after landing at O'Hare and on my way to my destination. Easy to find, right off I-90. Italian beef sandwich with cheese - tasty bite but the bread was a little soggy. Good flavor! Fries were salty so I'd likely order with no salt in the future. Crisp and goes perfectly with the sandwich. Chocolate Cake Shake - winner, winner! I enjoyed this the best - good chocolate flavor, bits of cake in every sip! There are a bunch of Portillos in the area so check one out, even if you only stop for the shake!

I mean, this has been my "home" Portillo's ever since I was a. kid. Can't even tell you how many times I've gone through that drive-thru! Portillos will always have a special place in my heart, and I don't think I could ever get sick of the food. I love their Italian beef, I always get it with both sweet and hot peppers. Their cheese sauce stays melty and is a must with their crinkle cut fries obvi. They also have a lot of lowkey items that don't get enough credit like their charbroiled chicken sandwich (I get it with honey mustard) and their Greek chicken salad which is my order 80% of the time. Oh, and the hot dogs here just hit different, too (Chicago style, of course!) The reason I docked a star is because of the cleanliness of this specific location. In all my years of coming year, I have vivid memories of lot of tables and seats, specifically the booths, being dirty. Same with the bathrooms. You can definitely tell they haven't gotten anything done in decades, but that kind of also goes with the retro charm and I kinda love it. Just wish it was cleaner sometimes! The service though has always been great and very quick. They're always on the hustle and bustle since it's usually always busy; I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen it completely or close to being empty. Nonetheless, Portillo's rocks and you should get it!

They decorated it with hanging plants, some art, a fish tank. A slight haze of smoke. Desserts on display. I'd say the finest work of art here are the prepped skewers, waiting to be thrown on their charcoal grill. My gaze was fixed on the meat display as if I was Cookie Monster at Crumbl. I composed myself and took a seat. They have great hot and cold appetizers. They have breakfast! Check out their menu, I've included a pic. Lahmacun is a crunchy brick oven flatbread with ground meat. It feels so light, airy, and crunchy, you could eat the whole thing and later say "..um, I ate the whole thing". We ordered a few King Chef's mixed grill platters. It is a medley of filet morsels, chicken, lamb chops, shawarma, shish kebab, and many other things, along with bulgar and fries. Why are their fries so good? Okay, so I know we're just talking about lemonade, but their house made lemonade is so good. We also loved their tea. We went way overboard on desserts. We just kept pointing at sharable items like John Travolta to the Bee Gees. All of the desserts were delicious. For some reason, the simplest of them, rice pudding, won the dessert battle that day. They have plenty of intriguing items that will lure me back, and I'm looking forward to it!

Everyone loves an immigrant success story…read more A man gets on a boat, fleeing persecution in his homeland, arrives in America with three dollars in his pocket, opens a restaurant, and becomes a millionaire because he is simply that talented at his craft. This is not one of those stories. This is the story of MOQA, where somebody apparently came all the way from Kyrgyzstan, discovered American brunch culture, and made the catastrophic decision to imitate it... poorly. The place looks great. Clean, modern, polished. And then there's the P.O.A. Index. Completely f%*%#ing unhinged. Not just the staff. The entire building. Everywhere I looked there was another absurdly attractive woman working, drinking coffee, eating brunch, typing on a laptop, or otherwise innocently going about her morning while pushing the room's average attractiveness into statistically irresponsible territory. It felt less like a café and more like somebody had accidentally scheduled a casting call for Women Who Will Absolutely Ruin Your Life and forgot to tell me. Whatever was happening in Elk Grove Village that morning, MOQA was ground zero. Naturally, this created expectations. Then the food showed up. The breakfast sausage was a hot dog. Not hot-dog-like. Not some adventurous Central Asian interpretation of breakfast sausage. A hot dog sitting next to eggs pretending nobody would notice. I noticed. Then came the waffles. Something had gone terribly wrong. A waffle has three jobs: crispy outside, soft inside, transport syrup into your mouth. Humanity solved this problem centuries ago. MOQA has somehow reopened the investigation. These waffles seemed confused about what they were, why they existed, and whether breakfast was even the correct career path. I ordered a burger... I've had better ones at elementary school cafeterias. Sauced to the hilt with something gross, bland patty that was obviously premade, and even bacon jam couldn't save it. They even f*#%ed up toast. Toast! And that's really the problem with the whole menu. You came from Kyrgyzstan, a place with an actual culinary identity, and somehow wound up making brunch for people who drive white Teslas and say, "Let's circle back after Pilates." Why? That's an insane trade. Give me Kyrgyz breakfast. Give me Central Asian food. Give me bread, eggs, meat, dairy, tea, something with history, character, and enough personality to make me wonder what the hell I just ordered. Give me breakfast with a g**d*** point of view. I don't need Kyrgyz immigrants explaining waffles to me. America already has IHOP. We have committed enough crimes. MOQA already has the beautiful space. It has the atmosphere. It has friendly staff. It has a P.O.A. Index requiring scientific notation. Now it needs to stop pretending Elk Grove Village desperately needs another vaguely upscale American brunch concept. Embrace Kyrgyzstan. But for the love of God: Throw away the hot dogs. Fix the waffles. Cook the food you actually know.
