My son told me their Wreck sandwich is amazing. I only eat wheat products once a month and saw this Potbelly at lunchtime. WOW! A wonderful combination of meats and a bit of Swiss cheese. Sorry Potbelly, but this location has honestly gone downhill REALLY bad in the past few months. I'm not sure if it's new owners/management or summer employees but wow 3 times in a row now I've gone to this Potbelly and have had issues specifically with mobile orders. The first time I was missing 2 bags of chips, I called to ask for a credit or refund and they refunded no problem. The second time my sandwiches were completely wrong, and when I called to complain I got an attitude from the male manager on duty but ultimately was refunded. The third time I was again missing a bag of chips. I called to ask for yet another refund - the employee on the phone said okay, no refund ever came. I don't understand how this location has gone downhill so much, it used to be excellent, after not receiving my refund the 3rd time the order was wrong I'm just done with this location and figured I'd share my experience with the Yelp community. Terrible service- ordered the kids meal, as "kids eat free" on weekends. Informed the staff member that we were here specifically for that and ordered a skinny entree to be paid for along with the deal. 3 skinny entrees and 3 kids meals. Upon check out told that the deal does not apply to the skinny entree, only regular entree. So we said okay... can we modify and be charged for the full/regular entree and still get the free kids meal- but was told no modifications could be made. Tell me why when we ask specifically for the kids free deal, why would you not specify what qualifies for this order? If you're not going to be clear about what's advertised, don't advertise. And when you are specifically asked about the deal- answer the question and give us the correct information. As build-your-own sandwich shops go, Potbelly is one of my favorites. It has a rustic feel that's comfortable and welcoming, and sometimes there's live, acoustic music during lunch. Potbelly meals have more flavor than Subway, more variety than Jimmy John's, and better taste than the toasted sandwiches as Quiznos. (Honestly, I don't care if my sandwich is toasted, but if it's going to be, I like the way Potbelly does it rather than Quiznos.) Besides soups and sandwiches in a variety of sizes and calorie counts, they also have chips, cookies, brownies, and milkshakes. In fact, it's common when ordering your sandwich to be asked if you want one of their milkshakes. I finally decided to do that the last time I visited this place. I really like vanilla milkshakes and I ordered one of theirs to see if it's better than others I've tried. (Right now McDonald's is still my favorite, but I've started a quest to look for another I might like more.) The Potbelly shake tasted like something I could make at home with ice cream and milk. It was good quality stuff, but it didn't have that really strong vanilla taste I get from McDonald's. (It might be that McDonald's puts some strange chemical additive in it that accomplishes that taste, but I don't care. It's all about the flavor.) Love this sandwich shop!! So many great healthy choices on the menu. You can choose from their Faves list which are some of the popular ones. My favorite is the mediterranean it's packed with veggies and you can add chicken for that added protein. The sandwiches come in the original which is about a 6in roll, the Flat which is a lower carb choice, and the Big for those that are really hungry. They also have other options on the menu the Classic sandwiches, the Skinny's for those watching their calorie intake and the Skinny Pair which includes a soup with your sandwich. I have had the Skinny sandwiches they are delicious. Another option is their salads which I have yet to try but I will do that soon. If the sandwiches on the menu don't tickle your fancy you can always build your own. This location has a lot of seating and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. They only thing is the parking lot is really small and is used for three other business as well in the plaza. Didn't catch the girls name, but after ordering a chocolate milkshake, I noticed the shake was completely liquid. I apologetically asked for a remake so that it was actually a shake, which the girl agreed to. She then proceeded to angrily make my shake by slamming the blender on the counter, aggressively pumping the chocolate, and then put the shake down on the counter with force while saying "here ya go" and quickly turning around and ignoring my "sorry about that." I don't think it's so much to ask for an actually shake when paying $4 for one. There service could improve as the workers seemed annoyed to be there and the other times, the workers are out talking to their significant others as you're standing there waiting to be helped. Super nice Potbellys! I come here often for lunch and usually end up ordering a Mediterranean salad with nonfat vinaigrette, it comes with hummus, feta, tomatoes, and chicken. I'll also order a cup of soup, garden vegetable. I come before the lunch time lunch rush, highly recommend coming in at 11 before it gets crazy busy. On my last trip they forgot to put my soup in my bag I called and let them know, and explained that I was at work and couldnt drive back to pick it up. Being that Potbelly is my favorite quick sandwich joint, I decided to visit the Rolling Meadows location (it's close to my office) for lunch a few weeks ago. This, among many other reasons, is why they're fantastic: I ordered a Wreck on wheat, no cheese. When it came out of the oven, it apparently had cheese on it. The awesome dude behind the counter expediting the dressing of sandwiches asked what I ordered and upon telling him, he merely asked if I was lactose intolerant. Why yes, yes I am! Now, it is important to note that most people in the food industry act as though me asking for my meal sans cheese is a chore and a pain in their rear. Not Mr. Super-Cool-Sandwich-Guy. He simply asked what condiments I would like on my sandwich and had it remade.
