    Beef dipped with hot peppers
    Smith Family O.

Service was quick, the ambiance is casual with good music playing. Clean restaurant. Very friendly staff. Food is good but the dipped beef lacked seasoning. Had to come try Texas portillo's but overall Chicago's Willowbrook location is still my number one, always! I still have 5 stars for everything else because they are trying.

I enjoyed the $9.99 Big Burger Bundle deal at Portillo's. I will say I was hesitant to order it because I came for the hot dogs but once I saw someone's burger I couldn't resist. It was delicious. It was the perfect portion for me. The crinkle cut fries with cheese sauce was yummy. I tried out the comeback sauce and that was ok. It had a tang that I'm not used to but I'm sure others might like it. My husband ordered a Combo Beef and Char Grilled Italian Sausage Sandwich and enjoyed it. He wishes he had more peppers but I think it's because it was loaded with a lot of meat. We also ordered the chocolate cake shake and that didn't disappoint us. I will say it was interesting to see a small crowd and it was a wait for a Saturday night here. I'm sure it's because it's fresh and it's still new.

Portillo's is known for their hot dogs and beef sandwich, plus you have to get the cheese sauce as a side for the fries. However, I find their cheeseburgers to be one of the best ones in town. The patty actually fits the size of the bun and is crispy. It's simple but delicious. I've had the sausage and that's good too. The onion rings are huge and ok. They serve crinkle fries. The shakes and cakes are good. I like using the app b/c they'll have bogo offers, free fries or shakes sometimes. You can order from the cashier but they prefer that you use a kiosk. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The construction on 1960 is a mess, so I suggest entering from the mall side.

A TASTY STOP THAT'S WORTH THE HYPE! Hey guys! This place is a real winner. I stopped by for lunch today while I was in the area getting my MacBook Pro serviced at the Apple Store in Willowbrook Mall. Portillo's was recommended to me by an Illinois Yelper, Thomas G., who raved about their plant-based Garden Dog and even posted mouth-watering photos on Yelp. All I can say is, I should've come here the moment he suggested it months ago! Now let's get into the details. Customer Service The service I received was... mixed. The front counter cashier, Keke, was extremely warm and friendly with the guests ahead of me. She laughed, chatted, and offered helpful menu suggestions as they ordered. I thought, "Okay, I like her vibe!" But when it was my turn, things shifted. I approached with the same upbeat energy, even mentioning that it was my first visit and that I'd been referred by a Yelper from Illinois, something I thought was worth sharing, given Portillo's Chicago roots. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm was met with a noticeably cold and indifferent attitude. It caught me off guard, and I decided to cut the small talk short and just place my order. The Food I ordered the Plant-Based Garden Dog and a bottle of water. I wanted to try more items, but I'm currently watching my calorie intake. That said, I was blown away by how flavorful and delicious the Garden Dog was, way better than I expected! The relish was especially impressive. It wasn't the kind you find in a typical grocery store jar; it looked and tasted homemade. The bright, vibrant green color was visually appealing and added a sweet, tangy punch to the hot dog. The toppings as a whole created a balanced flavor profile that ranged from spicy to tangy to sweet. My only gripe was the temperature of the hot dog itself. After waiting quite a while for my order, I expected it to be piping hot. Instead, it was just lukewarm, barely acceptable. If it had been any cooler, I would've sent it back. Still, the overall taste more than made up for it. Ratings Customer Service: 3/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Plant-Based Garden Dog: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 The Atmosphere The dining room is spacious, spotless, and well-maintained, with plenty of seating. When I arrived, there were only about five customers, but by the time I left, the place was packed. Get there early if you want a quieter experience! Extras Portillo's offers a wide variety of menu options, including salads, burgers, cheese fries, desserts, and shakes. They also sell Portillo's-branded merchandise like shirts, caps, toddler bibs that say "Small Fry," and even birthday cakes complete with candles and party decor. The overhead music was a nice touch, creating a lively but comfortable dining atmosphere. There's also ample parking since the restaurant is located within the Willowbrook Mall area. Final Thoughts: If you enjoy fresh, flavorful hot dogs, a clean and inviting space, and affordable prices, Portillo's is definitely worth checking out. Despite the hiccup in customer service, I'd still recommend it, and I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

    Cheeseburger combo with onion rings

I was happy to see this new eatery open up in the Willowbrook area and recently dined there twice. It has its own large parking lot so parking is never a problem. Inside it's spacious and has covered outdoor seating too along with it being counter service. They have a twin lane drive thru for to go orders if you can't stay. First visit was to try an Italian beef sandwich combo for $13 that came with fries and a soft drink. I had them add sweet peppers and some mozzarella for $.75 each. After visiting the self serve drink station, I waited about 5 minutes for my number to be called and picked up my food. The interior of this restaurant is attractively decorated with several references to Houston and Texas as well and with plenty of seating. The sandwich was served on a 8" roll and had plenty of tasty Italian beef, gooey cheese and sweet peppers making it tasty and pleasurable to eat. The crinkle cut fries were hot, salty and good too. It was a very good meal and affordable. I returned about a week later to try another one of their specials, the cheeseburger combo for about $12. This price was for the single patty combo version and I subbed the fries for onion rings for $1 more. The burger consisted of a grilled hand formed beef patty on a nice bun dressed with a large lettuce leaf, tomato and of course melted cheese. It was very good. The onion rings were battered and delicious too. Again, a very good meal at a reasonable price in a nice atmosphere. Portillo's Willowbrook is a quality fast food restaurant that I will visit often. This restaurant will be successful here.

Cheeseburger, onion rings, fries, large drink and an Italian sandwich.

First off, Chicago Hotdog was good and fresh! The hotdog had a snap to it I was not expecting. The cheeseburger was good too! The Italian beef sandwich would have been better with some peppers(added charge). It was literally just bread and meat. All the food came out hot and fresh. The fries and onion rings included. The price can add up quickly. The Italian beef sandwich meal was $13 (fries and drink). Everything is a la cart (cheese for the Italian beef, sides, drinks, cheese wiz for fries, etc.) Lastly, no kids meals but you can get chicken tenders or a burger.

    Mike C.

Had the Italian beef sandwich. I must say this is the worst I've ever had! Horrible to look at and worse to try and eat. 7 pm and I was the only customer in the building. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but this was bad. .

Yes, yes, and OMG YES! Was so happy when they opened Portillo's in Willowbrook. Nothing beats a Chicago dog (hotdog that is), and a Portillo's Italian beef sandwich with all the fixings. The french fries are always crispy & fresh. Restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. There are indoor and outdoor dining options. There is also a drive-thru. You can order at the kiosk, or at the counter. Merchandise and grab-and-go options are available as well. Parking is sufficient surface parking.

Tried this spot on Friday. Its off 1960 near Willowbrook next to Olive Garden. It looks like a sit down restaurant from the street side but it is a fast food establishment with a drive thru. We went inside and they have kiosk to order or traditional counter service. Food was unique for Houston fast food they had hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches or burgers. I had the Italia beef sandwich with fries. The sandwich was HUGE, you won't be leave hungry, I got my plan with no peppers and the bread sauced. Overalll pretty good bread was soft and meat was decent. The fries were really good and the cheese sauce complimented. The cake shake I got for desert was different in a good way. I recommended that but you're gonna be ready for a naps. Fast food rating: 6.7/10 Give it a try, it's unique.

A little behind but in celebration of the new pope i decided to go to this fine Chicago establishment we have here and get the limited time " The Leo" a Italian beef sandwich baptized in the holiest of holy beef au ju and it is a messy juicy sandwich so be sure to grab a few napkins, and after eating this majestic piece of work I truly feel blessed. I also can't come to portillos without getting a famous Chicago dog that nails everything needed in a hotdog. The atmosphere isn't the same as the Chicago location which I'm not thrilled about I do wish I saw more Chicago but it is what it is. The service is fast and friendly and will be back to get more especially that chocolate cake shake again.

    Susan P.

Lots of buzz about this Chicago transplant but truthfully it wasn't anything special for me. Superior hotdogs can be found throughout the city. The Italian beef is an acquired test and the gravy bread was just soggy bread.

I their lemon cake so I ordered more

Food is delicious hotdog, beef on buns, cakes Service is fast and the employees are friendly They tell you or offer you which ones are best sellers The ambiance is very clean and big and RR are also clean hopefully it will be maintained. Its cleanliness and as well as with food. French fries is also crispy i love it

Willowbrook is not a municipality. Therefore, 'Willowbrook, TX' does not exist.
    Brett M.

Worst location in Houston. Every open table in the restaurant is dirty and there are at least five employees standing around. Both soft drink machines aren't mixing properly. Also, Willowbrook is not a municipality so 'Portillo's Willowbrook, TX' is a dumb thing to have on the wall. 25 minutes and not a single table was cleaned, just more dirtied.

My receipt where it clearly shows I paid for peppers and asked for gravy on the side.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. The basic burger is $12, and anything you want to add or replace is extra. Now that's including the basic sauce, which I thought would be an additional homemade sauce if I needed. Again, I am learning. I ordered grilled chicken, but at the counter, a very nice person, Eric, told me they were out of grilled chicken and had fried chicken available. I guess so, since I spend some time. I don't want to wait any longer. I also ordered homemade lemonade, which came with lots of ice. I requested that some ice be removed. I also added chard jalapenos, which were tasteless and slightly burned, so they lost their flavor. The food pick-up area was separate, and the guy who gave you a food tray could have been friendlier and said thank you. Oh well, my burger was a piece of chicken with lettuce and onion. It was ok but very dry inside. So make sure you order sauce or anything for your burger, and pay for it. When I got there, the dining hall was empty. I like this place, but plz if you're going there for the first time, read the menu carefully and place your order. Service could be friendlier, and the dining hall was clean.

I went with the Double Good Burger at Johnny Good Burger, and honestly... it was surprisingly good. The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. All in all, a very satisfying burger experience. If you're in the mood for a legit smash burger and happen to be wandering POST Houston, this one's absolutely worth stopping for.

There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded.
