Lunch - Food is good and service was great. Very nice place, we were comfortable and restrooms clean.

Hands down best buffalo chicken pizza. Family run and they are all wonderful. It's always freshly made and delicious.

NO ONE WEARS A MASK, GLOVES, ETC I was disturbed when I walked in to pick up my order and was passed by two employees not wearing masks that were walking around the main area of the restaurant. I then waited at the counter, where I observed clear as day two employees preparing food without masks on. A man, who I believe is the owner, then came to the counter to help me. The man did not have a mask on either, smiled as if all was normal. I felt like I was doing something wrong by wearing my mask. I haven't seen such bold lack of care or disregard for regulations in any other business that I have been in during this pandemic. We have been devoted customers of Portobello for many years, so this came as a shock and disappointment as I'm sure it will be for anyone reading this. Please do better, Portobello read more

We stumbled on this place today, it was a toss up for a deli, Mexican or pizza. I'm so glad we went for the pizza. I had a perfect size lunch special that came with the best tasting bread. We've been eating here since Kenny opened in Brookfield 20(?) years ago. By far the best Italian food in the area. Service is always good and friendly. Not the fanciest place around, but I will take Kenny's great food over linen every time. Kenny's minestrone soup is our absolute favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

Lets start this review with the online menu that hasn't been updated, expect to be paying much more for anything you order... and not just by a dollar or two. One large pizza was priced at almost $30.00, $4.00 for bacon which you could only see about 10 small flakes on the entire pizza. The order of garlic bread was a small grinder roll that was burnt with NO flavor at all... it honestly the worst and most expensive takeout I've ever eaten in my life. To top it all off they don't tell you the total over the phone so beware and in all honesty don't waste your money. read more

Let me start by saying that Portobello is not a fine dining restaurant, the seating and decor is simple. However, the food, service, portions and price are what make it 5 stars for me. We have been going to Portobello as a family for 10+ years and are NEVER disappointed. The waitstaff is always friendly, attentive, and make you feel at home. The portions are HUGE (always enough for leftovers) , and it is usually no more than $20 per person!!! Not to mention it is BYOB. I am weary of writing this review because I don't want Portobello to get too crowded, but it really is a great restaurant. I moved up to Boston a few years ago and have been to many restaurants in the famous "North End" but honestly, none of them compare to Portobello. My wife, son and I were heading up to Sharon, MA from NYC and wanted a good meal to break up the trip. Thanks to Yelp we found Portobello. The staff was incredibly friendly every step along the way. We decided to forego the pizza and stick with the plates. We ordered a fried calamari appetizer, eggplant parm, sausage and linguini, plus a side of sautéed broccoli. The meal was excellent. Incredibly fresh and homemade, yet it didn't take long to get served. While the calamari wasn't as tender as I would like it was fried perfectly - not greasy and very crispy. The eggplant was also not fried with a heavy hand. My favorite was the broccoli. Lots of garlic and firm, not soggy. It was a simple, delicious and enjoyable meal. We left feeling invigorated - not overstuffed, which can easily happen with southern Italian food. I highly recommend it! Say hello to Junior and his dad for me. read more

Amazingly authentic dining experience! The decor is quite basic but don't let that fool you. The staff is friendly welcoming and attentive. We had the portobello mushrooms appetizer which was fresh, hot, and served with warm freshly made bread, a delicious combination. Our main course was zuppa di pesce: muscles, clams, calamari, and scallops in the most tasty marinara served over pasta. Extremely pleasant staff, good phone manner, it was our first time eating there and it left a really good taste in my mouth (yessss pun intended) see what I did there? We didn't get pizza. Portobello was our go to place on Friday nights for years. Food is always outstanding and Kenny and Junior welcome us like family. Since moving to Florida ten years ago, we don't get back too often. We will be in NY this weekend and making a special trip to Brookfield just for this great food. Will be there Saturday night. I will have Kenny's Veal Saltimbocca and Marie will have it with chicken. It's a small basic restaurant, the food is outstanding, the service from staff is spot on, always attentive and accommodating to customers. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years I have never been disappointed, Ken and Junior are great cooks the food is always fresh and made to order which is a rarity in today's standards most places use a microwave to heat food in a package. As a cook myself I can taste the difference between fake and fresh food. Portobello's will always be my wife and I favorite place to go to every Friday night for delicious pizza and fresh food. read more

Part of the reason for staying loyal to our Friday night pizza tradition is because the staff are so kind and welcoming ... but it's also because the pizza is delicious! The crust is on the thinner side and the sauce is so good. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is BYOB . The other thing to know is you can't use debit cards, but there is a cash machine that'll gladly overcharge you a service fee. Other than that, you won't be disappointed by the food here. read more
