I've came to this establishment twice. I wouldn't say it's a bad location, but your quality of service depends on the technician. On my first visit, my tech was a younger, conversational young woman. She inquired about other services thatI may be open to. However, my last tech was an older woman that preferred to speak with her coworkers. The prices are reasonable for the area. No known specials so far. From what I could see, there are regular customers that come for services. I recommend stopping by to try them out, but don't expect the red carpet to be rolled out. read more

Posh is everything you would want in a nail salon- clean, friendly and attentive staff, many color choices and great service. I have gotten regular polish and dip manicures and pedicures and have never left disappointed. The moment I walk in, multiple people say hello and they are always able to take me walk in or last minute appointment. Also, their prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of services ($60ish for dip manicure and pedicure). Had a good experience there, prices are reasonable and it is very clean/the staff are quite professional. Got a gel manicure and spa pedicure and felt good about both when I left. However, the gel manicure only lasted for ten days before it started to chip and peel - typically my gels last at least two weeks, and my better ones closer to three! Definitely disappointing as my nails kept catching on things (including my hair) from the peeling near my cuticles. Might be back but might shop around for another place in the area too. read more

Cindy and her team work incredibly hard and Cindy did a great job with the design and services of her own salon. Initially I was going to give a 4 versus a 5 is because they are not great with time management (fitting in appointments with walk ins) and I have had a rushed job a few times. There are some technicians I just think do a better job, which is normal. But I am giving a 5 because I did once have a manicure that I felt was really below standards (the polish was too thin so it piled up on the edges, then peeled up days later) and they fixed it no charge which I really appreciated. Overall it is consistently good, but try to avoid coming during the rush, because the results will sometimes be a bit rushed. read more

I have been going to Posh Nail Spa for the last 10 months and am so glad I found Tom, Cindy and the rest of the amazing staff at this location! It is true that this place is busy almost all of the time, but to me that's a great sign of high quality services bringing in both new and return customers. In addition to wonderful pedicures, the application of SNS dipping powder is done with skill and precision. If you get overwhelmed by color selection, then be prepared going in, as they have two baskets full of color samples to choose from! My SNS lasts anywhere from 2-3 weeks, but I tend to make appointments for every 2 weeks to keep it looking clean and fresh. The spa is clean, instruments are sterilized and staff is courteous, but efficient. Safety for customers and staff is also important to Tom, as he just had high quality cameras installed both inside and outside of the store. So happy to have found my go-to nail spa! read more

To be fair, this review is for their customer service and lack of communication for a walk-in. It was my first visit at Posh nails after reading great reviews. When we got there, it was busy and there was a 40 min wait. One of the ladies asked if we have time to wait since we didn't have an appointment, and I said "yes." So we signed in at the kiosk with phone number and all and spent 40 min in the area. When we returned, the woman told us that we cannot be accommodated because we left the salon. Never acknowledged or greeted us and kept walking away. Then when I mentioned signing in, she said it's only for points. I understand it is busy but she at least could have told us to either wait inside the salon or try to fit us in since we still didn't mind waiting more in the salon after we returned. When I asked when they would be able to do manicure, she said no, and again walked away. I felt uncomfortable to even try to make an appointment for the future. This is one of the worse reception experiences I have ever had in a nail salon. Their service may be good, but the attitude is unappreciated, and we will never be back. read more

An overwhelming number of color choices in polish, gel and powder and they can easily coordinate if you want gel/polish on your toes and powder on your fingers. Very relaxing and prompt service. This place is a hidden gem that friends have been telling me about for months but I finally tried this week. Completely deserves all the praise. I destroy regular manicures so finding SNS/powder manicures was a life changer. Posh has the largest selection of powder colors I have seen - almost overwhelming! I went with a nice neutral tan for work and there were about 20 colors that would have fit this description. The salon is simple, clean and comfortable. SNS manicure is $33 which is the cheapest I've seen. Not a ton of extra frills but totally perfect for a go-to nail salon. I will definitely be back. read more

It is now 9 pm and I receive a text message from the owner that my appointment has been cancelled and they are really busy tomorrow. I've never been and won't go. Had a very nice chat with one of the managers, Tom. I felt very attended to and would still come back to this salon. Thank you to the managers for taking the time to make sure your customers feel taken care of! All of my visits have been wonderful until this weekend. I went in for a gel polish. Everything was wonderful until my manicurist cut my cuticles too short. She ended up pulling too much skin and my finger has been in pain since. The manicure was too rough. The service was prompt and great but my nails and my friends' nails chipped within hours. No, it wasn't because we didn't let them dry enough because we sat at the front under their nail fan for over 30 minutes. The quality of the polish or their finish has to be bad because there's no way that a good quality manicure chips that quickly. I am a regular client at Posh and was compelled to write a review because I was so impressed when they purchased Bio Gel Seaweed polishes (an organic formaldehyde free line of polishes) to use after I found out that I was allergic to some types of polish. They asked for input on the types of colors I would like and purchased an assortment for me to select for use at the salon. Posh is great for many other reasons too-- The owners Cindy and Tom are always there to supervise the business and ensure a quality experience. They provide a quick and meticulous manicure in under an hour. They have purchased every line and color of gel and SNS powder available and the polishes are new and do not seem to be lumpy or thinned down. There are almost too many colors, but it is fun to look through their extensive array. The basins, bathroom and nail stations are always kept clean for patrons. All in all, Posh is my favorite salon and deserved high ratings across the board. read more

Update: I have changed my previous review from 5 stars to 3 after my most recent visit. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. I went in this week for SNS and worked with Vince. Toward the end of the appointment, he needed to clip my cuticles. He had a container of barbicide on his table with the cuticle clippers inside. When he reached in to remove a pair of clippers, I looked inside the container and saw nail and cuticle clippings floating around. Super gross! Having gotten sick from a nail salon before, I am a stickler for cleanliness. I hope they remedy this issue. read more

I'd been bouncing around nail salons in Durham as I moved around the area, trying to find a reliable place I could come to regularly. Seeing mostly positive reviews for Posh, I decided to give it a try. My first experience here was great. I called the day of to see if they could fit me in for a 5 pm appointment for a basic mani-pedi ($37, I believe) and they said sure. I didn't have to wait long, although expect a wait of some type whether you have an appointment or not. They're just that busy. However, I came back a week later for a polish change ($8) and didn't have the best experience. The nail tech seemed rush to get me out and the coats were uneven and messy. I said as much in my Go-checkin review after my appointment and next day, the owner, Tom, called and told me to come in at any time and they would re-do it for me, free of charge. I think I went in maybe two days after Tom called to get the polish change redone and I told the nail tech when she asked me to pay that Tom said it was free. She didn't really understand me, though, so I just paid the $8 + tip because I'm not a confrontational person and she had done a good job. I even messed up one of my nails as I stood up to go to the dryer and she redid it for me. As my nails are drying, Tom comes up to me and addresses me by name, and gives me $8 in cash, apologizing once again for the misunderstanding. He asked me if I was happy with the polish change and even though he didn't redo my nails personally, they were essentially flawless. I really appreciated Tom following up with me and sticking to his word. It shows he really cares about his clientele having good experiences rather than just trying to get people in and out. I also like their (relatively) new check-in and points system! One day, I'll actually come in before one of my discount offers expires. This is a minor quibble, but on the tablet where you check-in, the services menu doesn't list everything. I also wish you could make appointments online instead of having to call, but again, that's just a little thing. There's not a lot of seating in the waiting area but 9th Street is close by with options for dining and shopping if anyone needs to pass the time while they wait. For those waiting, someone (I'm sorry, I don't know her name!) comes around to give out bottles of water. The salon is very clean and bright. I'd say come during a weekday rather than on the weekend if you want a shorter wait. As long as I stay in Durham, this will be my nail spot. :) read more

I'm thoroughly impressed with this salon. Very upscale, professional, and the nail techs are very accommodating. I came in with a very cheap "gel" polish from Walmart and the lady that serviced me was very patient with it. She made sure it all went on as smoothly and nicely as possible considering the application was pretty challenging. She gave me warning about going home to pack (I was headed to Hawaii for my birthday) and other things to watch for in order to make this nail job last. I ended up smudging two nails under the dryer by mistake (don't you hate that?!) and they were still patient with me and reapplied and waited for me to dry even though they were well past closing time. I'm happy to report my nail job with this 2 dollar Walmart nail polish survived an entire week in Hawaii and back. I've had a wonderful experience at Posh and I will be back.
