Alex really went above and beyond, and is probably the most honest person I have ever met in this field! My AC had stopped working and I had initially gone with a larger HVAC company to diagnose and fix the problem. Their tech had told me the condenser unit needed to be replaced, citing that a wire had become exposed, shorted the system, and burned a hole in one of the pipes- causing the coolant/oil to leak everywhere. Was quoted $7000 to replace the unit. Then I called positive plumbing to get a quote, which was only $4000 based on the specs for the unit! However, Alex still came out to examine the unit to verify it needed to be replaced. He determined that the hole that the previous company had claimed caused the unit to need replacing was almost certainly drilled in by them to force the coolant to leak everywhere, and that the rest of the condenser was still in working order. Alex was able to repair the damage on the pipe, refill the coolant, and diagnose that the actual initial problem was a slightly loose wire (not exposed) under a wire cap. So he didn't even try to upsell me on replacing the entire unit even though that is what I initially asked for. 10/10 for price, thoroughness, and honesty! read more

Very satisfied with my experience with Alex and Angel. My old A/C had died, and he was patient, honest, and open with me in discussing my replacement options. I decided to replace our old R22 system with an upgraded r410a system, and the install was done fast and professionally with a reasonable price. The crew came wearing a mask, boot covers, and laid out tarps on the carpet before performing the work. He pointed out a kinked refrigerant line which was probably the cause of failure for my old compressor, which I would never have noticed if he hadn't pointed it out. He fixed this for a small additional cost. Another less attentive contractor could have overlooked this problem which would have caused the new A/C to fail prematurely. After this job, he helped me solve an issue I had with my refrigerator water line (it was a closed valve under the sink) without any additional charge. Another review for Alex! Toilet started leaking again and I fixed it once through someone else...Alex went the extra step to make sure the problem was solved. It took 3 days to fix it but I called last minute with what I thought wasn't so urgent. Turns out my toilet didn't even fit the wall space and it wasn't going to be fixed by just replacing the wax ring. Ended up having to get a new toilet. Alex was accommodating and even met with me at Home Depot so that I could choose a toilet that I wanted. There was only one choice that would fit my restroom space though. I waited to write this review because we had a cold spell right after they installed a new HVAC system; including a Rheem 5 ton 16 Seer Condenser, ADP Coil and Rheem variable speed FAU. I almost forgot, but it is one year later, and everything works FANTASTIC, including the AC which cools our 2,800 SF home very quickly. Both heat and cooling functions are so quiet! I called about 10 plumbers and left messages and texts and then I called Positive Plumbing and Alex actually answered the phone. I had water all over my garage and I suspected that it was a problem with the water heater. It was a Saturday morning and was also the day after the New Year, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to get help without getting gouged. Alex agreed to come and assess the problem and within an hour of my call he was at my house. The charge for his visit was very reasonable and he immediately determined that I needed a new water heater... and he showed me the evidence that backed up his assessment. Alex went and got the water heater and when it was unboxed at my house, it was damaged. He had to take it back and get another one at another store because it was the last one at the store where he had gotten it. He had two other clients that were waiting for him so his time was in high demand. When I was given the bill, Alex explained that he would not charge me extra for the extra time it took because it wash't my fault that the water heater was damaged. I asked the service from this company when my thermostat went officer over the phone. The service fee was said to be about $100, which is quite expense already. A guy came and started to do the diagnosis. When he was in my attic, he said that the service fee will be $150, otherwise he will not do the job. I was not happy about this. Essentially this whole repair is to just change a blowed off fuse. After one day, the company called me and said the service fee should be $120. Then after one month, I saw the charge in my credit card report, which is still $150. Very negative experience overall. I really do not recommend this company. read more
