Then when I approved the test print (which they still charge for), THEIR machine's alignment was off, wasting my label paper and they STILL wanted to charge me for the prints, even though it was THEIR fault. We compromised to paying half (which is still ridiculous). So don't waste your time, money, stationery, or sanity by coming here. They're rude, pushy and unsympathetic. read more

I rented a box there for several years so that I could receive UPS and FedX deliveries without worrying about package theft. They sent me text messages when something arrived which made the service even better. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful, but I worked most often with Caroline and she was beyond great. I have had repeated delivery attempts fail and/or be delayed by days or hardware left outside by door because the Postal Annex (39270 Paseo Padre Pkwy #117, Fremont, CA 94538) I am customer of; has been closed during regular business hours. This puts me in a difficult situation, delays my ability to deliver product and service as promised to my clients and run the risk of very expensive computer hardware being stolen. Additionally, I've had multiple instances where I attempt to enter the store, again during regular business hours, only to find it closed for a period of time 15min - 1 hr. It's odd to find myself standing in front of closed store with other Postal Annex clients wondering how I can juggle my time to come back later. I shouldn't have to go through this when I'm specifically paying for a service to prevent harming my business relationships. It seems there is only one person at that location the entire day and when they take their breaks the store is closed. The reason I have a Postal Annex membership is because I am a sole proprietor and cannot be physically at my office the entire day to receive deliveries. I'm currently up for renewal and have decided that this low quality of service, six issues in last 45 days, is too frequent to justify continuance of relationship. I know the pandemic has created new challenges to running a business for everyone, this is where an operation like Postal Annex has an opportunity to help us get through these challenges not exacerbate them. The 1st time i was there i needed a notary so i was ok $20 ok i didnt do my how much a notary should cost research so i was like whatever ok. So i came back today again i went in there to mail one yellow envelope with maybe 4 sheets of paper and to buy a book of 20 forever stamps and the Indian lady clerk is like "$17" im like huh? to send an envelope to martinez and 20 stamps $17??? i mean i understand mark up for not going to the post office but 20 stamps is $8 at the post office your charging like $14 and $3 to send an envelope to martinez you gots to be crazy!? never again will I go into the postal annex in fremont. oh and she was also trying to charge me for the yellow envelope i already had! i couldnt understand her at 1st and i was like no this is mine. This review is solely based on my experience with the livescan portion of this business. I had come here in the past to get my fingerprints taken and had no issues, so i decided to give them another chance. BIG MISTAKE. I work in the social services field and have done this dozens of times, since i was 18, and have never had a problem!! i do know that my fingerprints are very shallow and are hard to take so it can be a lengthy process but i have always had patient and knowledgeable technician's who have done everything to make sure that most if not all were up to FBI and DOJ standards. HOWEVER, this time around the only technician at this location, Vicky, did not feel the need to keep trying until most if not all were green lit. She gave it a few tries but no real effort! So i was informed by my new employer yesterday that the prints were rejected due to "the quality of the characteristics is too low to be used" HR tells me they had just received the letter and therefore i should go back to the same place and they will re-do them free of charge. So i go back with all of this information and i am told by one of the employees that i had to wait until Vicky was in because she was the only one who was able to help me with that, already i had a bad feeling when the other lady told me this, so i waited for a call, and then it came. Vicky proceeded to tell me that i would have to pay the $93 dollars again because it had been past 30 days and it was my agency's fault that they had taken so long. When i explained to her that they nor i had received any notice and were unaware of this 30 day policy she said it was not her problem, and then proceeded to tell me that it didnt matter though because my and i quote "fingerprints are to blame, it's youre fault that it didnt go through" i was appauled and at this point REALLY angry. I proceeded to ask if she really just said that it was my fault and she said yes that this was not her fault nor her problem. I tried as calmly as i could to remind her that she is the "professional technician" and that she should have realized in the moment that the fingerprints were not up to standard and continued to try or simply say i cant do this and not take my money. She of course refused to listen or take any responsibility for her lack of skills. Needless to say i have NEVER come across such TERRIBLE customer service, and will therefore never return for anything at this place. If you need to get your prints done, i would suggest going somewhere different, this place is more trouble than what it's worth!!!!! read more

This place is the WORST. I went there to ship some packages and the owner was over an hour late to open the store! I was about to leave when he walked up. He opened the store and told me to wait as he cleaned up garbage that was blocking the entrance. Then a smelly homeless man came in and he helped him FIRST! Ridiculous. He said the computer was loading so I waited. When he finally helped me a whopping 10 minutes later he told me that not only is Postal Annex $2 more per package than the post office but that it doesn't even include shipping! Why this place is open I do not know. An added bonus was the stench of the place. And by the scale there was a plate with leftover food on it from the day before. This place is gross, dirty, and overpriced. I thought the normal post office was gonna be packed but I'd gladly weather that storm over this place! read more

Beware do not come here. Here is why you shouldn't. I called to see who would provide live-scan services in the area and some lady picked up named Vicky. I asked her how much and she wouldn't give me a quote and said only in person I can give it to you, then says I'm busy with a customer. I go to the location and see that she's helping some other customer and doesn't bother to welcome me or say please wait. I ask her how much it will and she says she doesn't know then goes to check her fees and says oh it will be $68 total for everything so I wrote the price down on her business card. I go to the bank and return with the money. I fill out the form and as she enters it she looks at me and says oh it will be $93. I tell her you quoted me $68 and now you raised your price. By that time her manager was there and he says sorry we can't do anything that's the fee. Then the lady goes I'll just save your info whenever you come back since we have the lowest price WRONG you are one of the highest and other places charge $74 or less! Lesson learned don't come to someone who is a liar and can't give you quoted over the phone. Not only did I run into some incompetent employees, but they wasted my time coming here. The Notary service is super expensive, they charge 20$ a page and that is ridiculous, compared to what others charge, I definitely do not recommend this store for notary services, a quick Yelp search would provide more convienent and cheaper options. I had a great experience today. The shop turns off its system by 6:30 pm, so you're no longer able to go in for a Live Scan. I work in San Francisco and get out of work at 5 pm, so by the time I arrived to the shop it was close to 7 pm. I explained my situation to Caroline and she did not hesitate to boot up her system and do a Line Scan past 7 pm. Truly grateful for that, highly recommend this place if you need to ship any items or get a Live Scan done. read more

As a customer for over two years, I feel compelled to write a review after the brusque and ungracious service I received from Ruta when I renewed my mailbox rental. As she was assisting a customer, she asked if I needed help. I said I was there to pay for my box rental. She appeared somewhat displeased that I was not paying annually; although, my service agreement is every six months. She then hurriedly took my credit card and completed the transaction. But here's the deal: She never said thank you! As a customer for over two years, I am in a pretty good position of receiving and observing customer service. When a line begins, she is visibly tense and flustered which makes it uncomfortable to watch. However, the saving grace is Vicky! I have been impressed with her remarkable ease, friendliness and patience with each customer. It is a pleasure to be in her company. **Update** I am posting a final update as I no longer rent a mailbox. Since my last review, I have noticed an improvement in the customer service from Ruta. Could it be that Yelp reviews are liken to performance reviews that one receives in the workplace? Nevertheless, I have to improve my rating to reflect a positive change. read more

They have all sorts of services from renting out mailboxes, shipping, passport pictures, fax services, mailing and they sell every random thing imaginable. This is my favorite place to go! I sent bills, a care package, got something notarized, and took my passport photo here all in one trip. They are extremely accommodating, friendly, and reliable. And I've been back multiple times since. Highly recommend. read more

Short version: I paid to send a package priority mail, they sent it out at a lower class and pocketed the difference in postage for themselves. When I called them on this later, they didn't seem to care and gave me a very partial refund. Long version: On 12/16, I went here to mail a box of Christmas presents to my relatives back east. It was a small package, and they charged $23 for USPS Priority Mail. I didn't complain, because the place is near where I live and I thought I should support a local business. I expected a little surcharge since it is not a true post office. The package did not arrive until the day after Christmas. 10 days! This was way too long for Priority Mail, even for the holiday season, so I asked my relatives how much the postage cost and if there were any priority labels on it. There were NO Priority labels on the box, NO Priority stamp, and in fact the postage was less than ten dollars!! (Which was impossibly low for priority mail on that box.) They had pocketed $13 and sent the package at a lower class!! When I went to the store and brought this to the clerk's attention, SHE ACTED AS IF THIS WAS A PERFECTLY OK BUSINESS PRACTICE. After much arguing, I managed to get 6 dollars of my money back, but not a penny more. She claimed that if the package was not sent Priority, the cost would have been about $17... through some voodoo math that I accepted, because I was so tired of arguing with her. The stupid $6 is not the point though. The point is that I had been deceived. And my package of gifts did not arrive in time for Christmas because of this deception. I wish I could give NEGATIVE 5 STARS to this place!!! read more

This place is terrible. First of all, they overcharge for everything. $13 for a book of stamps that costs $9. they also lost my mail that I sent out (I paid $10 for it, which costs $6 at the post office). They refused to refund me for not processing the postage and blamed the post office. Next time, I'll just go to the post office because I don't like my packages lost and I don't like overpaying for everything. What a horrible business! read more

This postal annex AND the one in Newark - are owned/managed by very pleasant courteous (different) people but service is very customer satisfaction oriented. I went there today during my lunch to fax over a document internationally. I get there and there was a lady in front of me being helped, she was shipping something and was told it would be $6, the lady (customer) questioned why it was so high when she was charged $3 back in December for something similar. The Woman at the counter kept saying that was their price but eventually after the customer questioning her many times she told her it would only be $4. The customer tried to pay with her credit card and was told that they only take cards for purchases over $5 so she offered to sell her some stamps and the customer reluctantly agreed. By this time the line was already 5 customers long and I could see there were 3 other women in the back with their kids running around from the store to behind the counter. One of the women said someone would be right with us which someone was as soon as their visit was over. The woman helping me tried faxing my document twice but it wasn't going through, she said the number might be incorrect so she tried for a 3rd time but this time with a different area code in front of the number. There was a dial tone and then it sounded like someone picked up but hung up. The employee then told me that since someone picked up she would have to charge me, she told me the rate is usually $5 + $2 (not sure why) but that she would only charge me $3. Of course I didn't have any cash so she suggested I buy a water which I did. She then told me I was still some cents short so she suggested I buy a stamp or a $4 hair clip. I bought the stamp instead however I left with out my water (i forgot it there). So I ended up spending $5.05 for just a stamp! This place lacks customer service and better communication. I should have read up on the reviews for this place before I went in. My experience was no better. The owner is dishonest, over charge customers and out right scams its customers. I went in to return a package to Amazon. I was expecting to pay roughly $4 for shipping the package back. The owner rang me up for $8. I was surprised by how expensive it was and asked the owner to double check the price. I even showed the owner the initial postage was only $4 and I am now mailing the same package back to the sender. Why should the charge be double? The owner said that's what it is. Since I have already waited for 15 mins I decided to pay and be on my way so I told the owner ring me up. Afterwards the owner just left my package aside and waits for me to leave. I ask the owner, where is the postage that he needs to print and put onto my package. The owner said he'll do it later and he needs to help other customers now. So in essence, the owner is a complete fraud. He can't print the postage cause it doesn't cost $8 to ship and he is waiting for me to leave before he prints the correct postage label. I dont understand how this place can still be in business with so many complaints. This place needs to be written up for fraud. Beware! read more
